Hi,

Will this trigger action work?

1.
Always()
SetDeaths(Terran Marine, Player 9, 100)

2.
Deaths(Player 9, Terran Marine, 100)
DisplayText("Worked!")

None.

Cartography Artisan

I don't think you can use the extended players/set deaths for extra death storage (but try it and let us know if it works :) ), I posed the same question to 0xeb http://www.staredit.net/368768/ and his suggestion was to use some of the scratch space available in the save structure (if using an EUD map) and a flat "no you can't do this cause it breaks saves" (if not using an EUD map)

In particular you can use this space: 0x0058F44C - 0x005967F0 unused space (29604 bytes)

For the equivalent of 7401 additional death counters (starts at player 5178, ends at player 12579, leave unitId as terran marine only).

Nvm, my initial post was wrong.

You cannot set deaths for extended players via the set deaths action.
But you can read them using the deaths condition!
To modify death counts for that player you have to give them units and have them physically die to weapon attacks. The kill unit action will not add to the death count - as with regular players.

jjf28 and NudeRaider are spot-on(to my knowledge). They cannot be modified directly. Either set/read an arbitrary offset like jjf28 mentioned, or accomplish your task using a variable or such.

Using Offsets and SCMDraft
Collapse Box

Using Variable and EUDEditor
Collapse Box

Either way will work fine, I believe variables are easier just because you can label them. If you're not doing many of these edits however, maybe that is of no interest to you. Cheers.
