zsnakezz -- they could msg whomever is due and active, and do a discord chat whilst playing the match
[2017-11-26. : 3:18 am]
zsnakezz -- i would say it should be an effort on behalf of staredit, then each video they can get a new member of the community to review maps
[2017-11-26. : 3:16 am]
zsnakezz -- a youtube channel would help bridge that gap of understanding
[2017-11-26. : 3:16 am]
zsnakezz -- its a hard activity to describe to friends who dont play starcraft of any game without an editor
[2017-11-26. : 3:15 am]
zsnakezz -- not saying its dead, more just silent, in need of something that gets it out there in the mainstream
[2017-11-26. : 3:15 am]
zsnakezz -- perhaps it would help bring more people to sc1 ums map making in general?
[2017-11-26. : 3:14 am]
zsnakezz -- i just think it would help establish something new with something that may seem a bit in the past but doesn't need to be.
[2017-11-26. : 3:13 am]
zsnakezz -- a lot of old communities have their youtube hosts the do reviews, like doom and such
[2017-11-26. : 3:12 am]
zsnakezz -- not saying im doing it, but i just think it would help elevate the community and create memes along the way
[2017-11-26. : 3:12 am]
zsnakezz -- just curious, if someone started a youtube channel where they review starcraft ums maps then post it on here, would you watch it?
[2017-11-26. : 3:07 am]

Lanthanide -- I'm talking about linux, btw
[2017-11-26. : 12:44 am]
Wing Zero -- But before win 10 I just gave up and downloaded a program to switch my game display to the right screen
[2017-11-26. : 12:43 am]
Wing Zero -- Lanthanide
Lanthanide shouted: trying to get dual-monitors to work properly, with the right-hand screen being the default one instead of the left, involves dicking around in 3 different settings windows until you find exactly the right combination of settings to make it work
I remember getting lucky and having it work the first time around
[2017-11-26. : 12:22 am]
Lanthanide -- ah, right
[2017-11-25. : 11:48 pm]
Vrael -- my point was just that there are spaces where you wouldn't even consider windows as a contender, in contrast to what nude was saying about other os's attempting to rival windows
[2017-11-25. : 11:47 pm]
Vrael -- Lanthanide
Lanthanide shouted: Vrael Vrael my experience of using linux at work is that it's crap and doesn't "just work" the way it shouldd
well yeah, nothing "just works" really, but the "just work" experience is a lot different in the consumer space versus an enterprise space
[2017-11-25. : 11:28 pm]

[2017-11-25. : 11:27 pm]
Lanthanide -- literally there being no setting available for it
[2017-11-25. : 11:27 pm]
Lanthanide -- like, not being able to set in a system-wide way, that the scroll wheel on a mouse should scroll 9 lines at a time instead of 3
[2017-11-25. : 11:26 pm]
Lanthanide -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: NudeRaider NudeRaider that's only in the consumer space though
Vrael
Vrael shouted: for a lot of enterprise/business stuff windows is garbage
my experience of using linux at work is that it's crap and doesn't "just work" the way it shouldd

jjf28 -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: jjf28 The mount command handles it just fine natively. You can do cat /dev/cdrom > image.iso or so to create the ISO. Oh, win 10. C|X^D
it's fine, windows has these things called programs that you click run on and they do stuff for you :)
[2017-11-25. : 4:58 pm]
jjf28 -- :ex::moose:
[2017-11-25. : 4:23 pm]

[2017-11-25. : 4:11 pm]

jjf28 -- leave the memes behind the scenes
[2017-11-25. : 1:45 pm]
Moose -- Users just want to read and write and manage files, they don't care about w/e filesystem meme is organizing the bytes behind the scenes LMAO
[2017-11-25. : 1:44 pm]
Moose -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: NudeRaider then again, I bet those don't even know NTFS
Also true, TBH
[2017-11-25. : 1:44 pm]
Moose -- Yes, of course it should just work when possible. And it's been getting better over the years. The trouble is things just work until they don't. I haven't had a Windows main box since XP but at this point I'd take the Linux troubleshooting experience any day, easily. It's a lot easier to figure out and change how things work when they don't just work.
[2017-11-25. : 1:35 pm]
NudeRaider -- it has to "just work"
[2017-11-25. : 1:35 pm]
NudeRaider -- *actual rival
[2017-11-25. : 1:34 pm]
NudeRaider -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: NudeRaider Yeah, I'm more of a fdisk/gdisk mkfs kind of moose
that's fine, and I too feel at home with a command prompt, but frankly I'm new to linux so this is all still tedious, even for me. Now imagine the average user. So if Linux has any aspirations of becoming an actual of windows it has stop forcing the user do these silly unintuitive things.
[2017-11-25. : 1:30 pm]
NudeRaider -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Mini Moose 2707 tru
then again, I bet those don't even know NTFS

NudeRaider -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: And I'm not sure but does stock Windows even recognize ext4 or xfs yet? Because those are free.
I don't think so
[2017-11-25. : 1:07 pm]
Moose -- And I'm not sure but does stock Windows even recognize ext4 or xfs yet? Because those are free.
[2017-11-25. : 1:05 pm]
Moose -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Mini Moose 2707 even windows user should also know fat from USB sticks. Some devices just won't recognize NTFS because it's cheap crap and they couldn't afford the license. :P
Average tho LMAO
[2017-11-25. : 1:02 pm]
Moose -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Mini Moose 2707 I used the gui to format it where you give it a filesystem as well. Had to chown after that, but then I could immediately put files on it. Looks like an oversight of the devs of the gui format tool to me.
Yeah, I'm more of a fdisk/gdisk mkfs kind of moose

Freakling -- Does any one know a reference for splash damage radii of different units?
[2017-11-25. : 10:32 am]
Suicidal Insanity -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Mini Moose 2707 Doesn't always need to be expensive or shit. I bought my OnePlus One 3 years ago for 330€ when the equivalent flagships costed twice that much. And it's still going strong. Literally the only thing I'd like to improve is the camera.
I'm till using an iphone 4 SE I was given for free a year back. Good enough for GPS + email + chat
[2017-11-25. : 10:28 am]
Suicidal Insanity -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: I get half off Verizon devices... but it's sorta illegal for me to resell anything :P
So don't resell it, give it away :D
[2017-11-25. : 7:55 am]
Excalibur -- imo, if you aint buying latest and greatest and just want a solid phone HTC 10 is best despite it being a couple years old. If you are looking for the latest shit/highest specs, then you want an ASUS Zenfone 4 Pro.
[2017-11-25. : 7:09 am]
NudeRaider -- or galaxy S8 which currently sees a hefty price drop
[2017-11-25. : 7:08 am]
NudeRaider -- Right now I'd probably look into the LG G6
[2017-11-25. : 6:28 am]
NudeRaider -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: Ya, hard to justify expensive phones anymore since my last one turned into a paperweight after the warranty was up ROFL
Doesn't always need to be expensive or shit. I bought my OnePlus One 3 years ago for 330€ when the equivalent flagships costed twice that much. And it's still going strong. Literally the only thing I'd like to improve is the camera.

NudeRaider -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: Generally by default it's going to mount up the drive and give it to him... once there's a filesystem on it.
haven't tried plugging it in again. gonna try that another time.
[2017-11-25. : 6:21 am]
NudeRaider -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: jjf28 Ya, because NTFS is the only filesystem type as far as he average Windows user is concerned. But they probably don't even know that much LMAO
even windows user should also know fat from USB sticks. Some devices just won't recognize NTFS because it's cheap crap and they couldn't afford the license. :P
[2017-11-25. : 6:19 am]
NudeRaider -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: NudeRaider root should own the drive in /dev. You will have to create a filesystem on the drive and use root to chown the root of that drive to yourself
I used the gui to format it where you give it a filesystem as well. Had to chown after that, but then I could immediately put files on it. Looks like an oversight of the devs of the gui format tool to me.
