Broflamingo -- Corbo
Corbo shouted: So, in my opinion, for 3d printing to become a viable "popularised" solution they need to 1. Drop down production and reselling value and 2. They need to drop down the complexity level of 3d printing
Everyone pretty much has a 3d printer. It's called China.

Moose -- Wow, jjf has his wood all over the floor, the chairs, the table, the furniture... damn, son.
[2017-11-27. : 11:37 pm]
jjf28 -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: NudeRaider Nobody wants to see your morning wood, not even clicking SMH
I got more morning wood than he does! https://tinyurl.com/y9lcsvu4
[2017-11-27. : 11:30 pm]
Moose -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: I find it hilarious to bid you farewell (good night) with a morning "post" https://i.imgur.com/pLMF3Tx.jpg

NudeRaider -- Lanthanide
Lanthanide shouted: 3d printing is never going to take off for the masses, because 1. there's not all that much you can actually make out of solely plastic, and 2. 3d modelling actually takes skill, and effort to learn how to do it, and most people simply won't learn it (just like most people can't maintain their own cars)
you realize that "3d printing is never going to take off for the masses" contradicts Lanthanide
Lanthanide shouted: but we're many years away from that
? I was going to disagree with the former, while the latter says exactly what I think.
[2017-11-27. : 2:27 pm]
Corbo -- I also did not read the whole conversation just the very last shouts so I do not know if you already mentioned this or if my replies are even about the topic you are discussing :P
[2017-11-27. : 2:26 pm]
Corbo -- So, in my opinion, for 3d printing to become a viable "popularised" solution they need to 1. Drop down production and reselling value and 2. They need to drop down the complexity level of 3d printing
[2017-11-27. : 2:24 pm]
Corbo -- but imo 3d printing is still very picky, even for someone like me, which my life is 3d visualization and architectural modeling, struggle with 3d printing because they require things to be made in a very specific way and in a very specific format which varies across 3d printing models and manufacturers. Whereas in traditional printing it is like "fuck formats and fuck your file I am just going to print whatever"
[2017-11-27. : 2:21 pm]
Corbo -- Lanthanide
Lanthanide shouted: now if 3d scanning became reliable and cheap, then 3d printing could be a little more feasible, like if something broke you could glue it together, scan it and print a new one
If the 3D printers dropped down cost as much as traditional printers (which they never will) at least in a proportional ratio, they would be worthwhile to get. You need not have 3d production skills to use it, just some sort of store that sells models "3d print ready" which already exists or you could hire a service to make a model for you, just like many people go to photoshopping services to make even small, simple banners to print.
[2017-11-27. : 10:44 am]
Suicidal Insanity -- Lanthanide
Lanthanide shouted: 3d printing is never going to take off for the masses, because 1. there's not all that much you can actually make out of solely plastic, and 2. 3d modelling actually takes skill, and effort to learn how to do it, and most people simply won't learn it (just like most people can't maintain their own cars)
"You wouldn't download a car"

Lanthanide -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: why do I have a "3D Objects" on my "This PC" menu?
Microsoft have added this in their "creators update" stuff. some new programs and changes to existing programs to support 3D printing. which is something probably less than 1% of their users actually have access to, but hey, it's in windows 10 now if you need it !
[2017-11-27. : 4:48 am]
Corbo -- Also if i really wanted to I could edit the color cycling to remap to a specific color ID in the pallete with fartys CCedit
[2017-11-27. : 4:47 am]
Corbo -- If that is what you are asking because i really do not understand the question
[2017-11-27. : 4:47 am]
Corbo -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: I mean Corbo tiles cycle through colors, how is that handled? or is it not?
I do not need color cycling for this hypothetical tileset
[2017-11-27. : 3:02 am]
jjf28 -- we get it, you like BLTs
[2017-11-27. : 3:02 am]
jjf28 -- better than all the product placement ms tries to do with their function names
[2017-11-27. : 2:07 am]
Voyager7456 -- Suicidal Insanity
Suicidal Insanity shouted: HRESULT GetMapByMap( ... ) <- I have the best functions ;(
lmao
[2017-11-26. : 11:11 pm]
Suicidal Insanity -- I'll just call it GetMapObjectOfMap
[2017-11-26. : 11:06 pm]
Suicidal Insanity -- HRESULT GetMapByMap( ... ) <- I have the best functions ;(
[2017-11-26. : 11:05 pm]
Suicidal Insanity -- Wouldn't he just change what color the cycle starts at? Since the cycling isn't a lookup, its permutation
[2017-11-26. : 10:35 pm]
jjf28 -- I mean Corbo
Corbo shouted: but what I really want is something that slices up a whole image into pieces that are 512 x 32
tiles cycle through colors, how is that handled? or is it not?
[2017-11-26. : 10:09 pm]
Corbo -- I might have to end up actually doing this in photoshop then xD
[2017-11-26. : 10:04 pm]
Suicidal Insanity -- Right now resizing the map can't offset the old contents
[2017-11-26. : 10:03 pm]
Corbo -- have the sides offseted to the middle of the map and then place new tiles so I make sure the ends seam together
[2017-11-26. : 10:02 pm]
Corbo -- That is basically what I want to do, but in SCMDraft.
[2017-11-26. : 10:01 pm]
Corbo -- Something like this: https://youtu.be/FR3Z0zr1RaY?t=60
[2017-11-26. : 10:00 pm]
Corbo -- No I mean like, automatically ofset what is on the sides to the middle and so on, so I can make seamless terrain
[2017-11-26. : 9:59 pm]
Suicidal Insanity -- Corbo
Corbo shouted: Is there a way to offset terrain?
Copy -> paste ?
[2017-11-26. : 9:59 pm]
Corbo -- well, shit, PyTILE does not work
[2017-11-26. : 9:55 pm]
Corbo -- What program?
[2017-11-26. : 9:54 pm]
jjf28 -- how would this program work with terrain color cycling?
[2017-11-26. : 9:50 pm]
Corbo -- aw shit, SI left.
[2017-11-26. : 9:43 pm]
Corbo -- Is there a way to offset terrain?
[2017-11-26. : 9:36 pm]
Corbo -- but the easiest would be make farty make me a batch program that does that lmao
[2017-11-26. : 9:36 pm]
Corbo -- I was actually thinking of that
[2017-11-26. : 9:31 pm]
Suicidal Insanity -- Well you could just save a map as CHK, modify the tile table in the CHK, and load it in scmdraft
[2017-11-26. : 9:21 pm]
Corbo -- Because i do not think you can automate this process
[2017-11-26. : 9:21 pm]
Corbo -- like tile 1 into 0,0, tile 2 into 32,0.... etc...
[2017-11-26. : 9:21 pm]
Corbo -- Then the other tedious part would be placing tile by tile into scmdraft
[2017-11-26. : 9:20 pm]
Corbo -- So I can import them easily into PyTILE and make a new tileset xD
[2017-11-26. : 9:20 pm]
Corbo -- but what I really want is something that slices up a whole image into pieces that are 512 x 32
[2017-11-26. : 9:19 pm]
Corbo -- I then resize that whole image with PS into half... or so
[2017-11-26. : 9:18 pm]
Corbo -- so if I print scmdraft map shot from 256x256 I get an image that is er... 8192 pixels
[2017-11-26. : 9:18 pm]
Corbo -- what I really want is a program that slices a full image into 16 tiles length so I can make a new tileset out of it
[2017-11-26. : 9:17 pm]
Corbo -- BUT
[2017-11-26. : 9:17 pm]
Corbo -- I have a program that slices it up
[2017-11-26. : 9:17 pm]
Corbo -- Not hard at all lmao
[2017-11-26. : 9:15 pm]
Suicidal Insanity -- Corbo
Corbo shouted: yo SI, how hard would it be to add code for SCMDraft to print map picture tile by tile?
It depends. How hard is it for you to get scmdraft to dump a full map image and slice that up into tiles?
[2017-11-26. : 9:04 pm]
Corbo -- nvm!
[2017-11-26. : 9:04 pm]
Corbo -- actually that will not help me lmao
[2017-11-26. : 9:04 pm]
Corbo -- yo SI, how hard would it be to add code for SCMDraft to print map picture tile by tile?
[2017-11-26. : 9:01 pm]
Corbo -- time to try this scmdraft program everyone seems to be talking about
[2017-11-26. : 9:00 pm]
Corbo -- yeah, tbh I got extra busy by the second week and after a month of idling (when I finally could return to hosting it) there seemed to be no point xD
[2017-11-26. : 9:00 pm]
Suicidal Insanity -- Boring excuse :P
[2017-11-26. : 8:41 pm]
Corbo -- if we can all manage to live by then it will be glorious since we might actually end up playing in digital consciousness by then xD
[2017-11-26. : 8:40 pm]
Corbo -- it said 2097
[2017-11-26. : 8:40 pm]
Corbo -- Suicidal Insanity
Suicidal Insanity shouted: So what happened to your quantum mafia? :P
I collapsed when the next turn should be
[2017-11-26. : 8:28 pm]
Suicidal Insanity -- So what happened to your quantum mafia? :P
[2017-11-26. : 8:22 pm]

NudeRaider shouted: zsnakezz don't sell yourself short. posting your drunk thoughts on SEN is one of the most worthwhile activties!
Some of us exclusively shout and post only while drunk, amirite?
[2017-11-26. : 8:09 pm]
Suicidal Insanity -- http://www.stormcoast-fortress.net/Irregularies/Images/Scmdraft2Scripting.PNG <- The theory appears to work. Actually implementing functionality though .... gonna take forever
[2017-11-26. : 7:33 pm]
jjf28 -- :wob:
[2017-11-26. : 5:10 pm]
Pr0nogo -- i don't think he ever reads his replies since he posts in the shoutbox twice a month, otherwise i would have probably replied
[2017-11-26. : 4:41 pm]
