[2016-5-02. : 10:34 am] Clokr_ -- NudeRaiderNudeRaider shouted: I think this conveys the (one) concept, quite nicely. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feedforward_neural_network If you want that thing to learn you tell it to try and match the output to certain values. Each attempt it will change the hidden layer and compare the closeness to the result to the given value and adjust the hidden layer accordingly. I'm not sure if Tikels is using (and training) neural networks from scratch or he's using some library that already has neural networks trained for a specific purpose, like detection of some features in the data.[2016-5-02. : 10:19 am] NudeRaider -- I think this conveys the (one) concept, quite nicely. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feedforward_neural_network If you want that thing to learn you tell it to try and match the output to certain values. Don't be so lazy, sacrieur FaRTy1billion![]() FaRTy1billion shouted: neural networks are cool this.[2016-5-02. : 10:07 am] Clokr_ -- TiKelsTiKels shouted: What's a common engineering coding language? Or one that generalizes well to other engineering languages In the mathematics community (I know, not engineering) matlab and C / C++ are common, and python is catching up because of the Sage library. People doing statistics use R, and there are some people still using maple out there. Mathematica is not that common: the syntax is ugly and the program expensive.[2016-5-02. : 10:04 am] Clokr_ -- TiKelsTiKels shouted: Also has anyone here ever toyed with artificial neutral networks? I did try to build my own a couple of times but I don't really know how the ones out there work.[2016-5-02. : 9:15 am] TiKels -- It sounds immense but it's really just a bunch of logic gates like AND XOR etc.[2016-5-02. : 9:12 am] TiKels -- You don't need 8 years to learn the basics. You don't even need 8 days.[2016-5-02. : 8:09 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- SacrieurSacrieur shouted: It's a waste of effort on my part to even attempt it, since I'm not going to school for eight years to learn about artificial intelligence and neural networks. lol Iguess i didn't read this one at all[2016-5-02. : 7:31 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- also they obviously have to start somewhere. If everyone just waited for someone else to do anything, what would get done?[2016-5-02. : 7:30 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- what's the point of doing anything if you are just going to wait around for the "smart people" to do it?[2016-5-02. : 5:23 am] Sacrieur -- It's a waste of effort on my part to even attempt it, since I'm not going to school for eight years to learn about artificial intelligence and neural networks.[2016-5-02. : 5:22 am] Sacrieur -- I don't really need to know how they work, or why they work, or any number of unimportant details. Just give way to use them.[2016-5-02. : 5:20 am] Sacrieur -- My feelings about neural networks is this: let the super smart people who spend all of their lives thinking about this crap build the API.[2016-5-02. : 5:19 am] TiKels -- The neural network questions and language questions were seperate. Neuralet nets are happening in matlab haha[2016-5-02. : 5:19 am] Sacrieur -- Even if it straps you down with Windows, it's better than being strapped down to inefficient tools.[2016-5-02. : 5:17 am] Sacrieur -- I'd recommend C# over Java, because Java is frustrating in comparison, and is too concerned with being "pure" than it is with being useful.[2016-5-02. : 5:15 am] Sacrieur -- And also since neural networks are relatively new, there really isn't that much support for it.[2016-5-02. : 5:15 am] Sacrieur -- If you go for anything too niche you risk not finding the support for what you're trying to do.[2016-5-02. : 5:14 am] Sacrieur -- If you want something more mathy you're going to want to go more functional.[2016-5-02. : 5:13 am] Sacrieur -- python is the best general purpose language for scientific purposes.[2016-5-02. : 4:56 am] TiKels -- I'm missing something about the internal mechanics. This program seems to only know how to determine radially symmetric data but I'm too dumb to figure out why[2016-5-02. : 4:37 am] TiKels -- I'm trying to adapt a neural network to a set of data that I have and I think I may be fucked, so to speak.[2016-5-02. : 4:34 am] TiKels -- I had heard of MarI/O before but had forgotten. That was entertaining[2016-5-02. : 4:00 am] Corbo -- Voyager7456Voyager7456 shouted: Corbo fite me 1v1 you won't be able to handle me[2016-5-02. : 3:57 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- TiKelsTiKels shouted: Also has anyone here ever toyed with artificial neutral networks? I played with MarI/O[2016-5-02. : 3:51 am] jjf28 -- I've seen a fair amount of python/jython being paired with automation engineering[2016-5-02. : 3:50 am] TiKels -- What's a common engineering coding language? Or one that generalizes well to other engineering languages[2016-5-02. : 3:43 am] jjf28 -- FaRTy1billionFaRTy1billion shouted: what about {s on the same line or a new line? I like the new line for readability/aesthetics, putting code just after a block header is usually harder to read and if I'm going to need an extra line for readability, the brace may as well go there so it lines up with its twin and such[2016-5-02. : 3:29 am] lil-Inferno -- Voyager7456Voyager7456 shouted: Dem0n w/e episode not that impressive IMO It was definitely in the top two episodes of this season.[2016-5-02. : 3:04 am] Voyager7456 -- but you'll have to do it quick 'cause I've got work in the morning lmao[2016-5-02. : 3:04 am] Voyager7456 -- CorboCorbo shouted: Yes. I haven't drank since 3am today. I need to catch up with voy. This can't be. fite me 1v1[2016-5-02. : 3:01 am] Corbo -- Yes. I haven't drank since 3am today. I need to catch up with voy.
