[2016-7-18. : 4:27 am]
Verdant -- they took a great game
[2016-7-18. : 4:26 am]
Pr0nogo -- dustin browder's biggest contribution to sc2 was destructible rocks
[2016-7-18. : 4:25 am]
Verdant -- and said "here, play"
[2016-7-18. : 4:25 am]
Verdant -- and an F- BW player with no game design training
[2016-7-18. : 4:25 am]
Pr0nogo -- how else am i supposed to respond to some fucking reverse anteater tod head showing up in the middle of the goddamn campaign and taking us to some bullshit bdsm land all the while some frank faggot is on our ship claiming to be fenix or something
[2016-7-18. : 4:25 am]
Verdant -- they got the guy that put a bunch of imbalanced stuff in C&C, with no game design training
[2016-7-18. : 4:25 am]
Verdant -- yeah, they don't really have any designers or balancers on staff for sc2
[2016-7-18. : 4:25 am]
Pr0nogo -- yeah well
[2016-7-18. : 4:24 am]
Verdant -- just the campaign made you that miserable?
[2016-7-18. : 4:24 am]
Pr0nogo -- but blizzard never had a good direction for sc2's esports scene
[2016-7-18. : 4:24 am]
Pr0nogo -- i don't really care about the multiplayer
[2016-7-18. : 4:24 am]
Verdant -- I'm trying to make a better melee version of it
[2016-7-18. : 4:24 am]
Verdant -- I used to make money playing it, and it was a pretty big slap in the face to see that potential go down the drain
[2016-7-18. : 4:23 am]
Verdant -- I feel you on that
[2016-7-18. : 4:21 am]
Pr0nogo -- the things it did to me I will never truly recover from
[2016-7-18. : 4:21 am]
Pr0nogo -- sc2 is the worst game I've ever played
[2016-7-18. : 4:21 am]
Pr0nogo -- .
[2016-7-18. : 4:20 am]
Verdant -- you didn't like it ? xD
[2016-7-18. : 4:20 am]
Verdant -- I just used a wander behavior
[2016-7-18. : 4:20 am]
Pr0nogo -- i still haven't gotten over the singleplayer campaign of lotv so i can't say i'm ready to even open the editor as it stands
[2016-7-18. : 4:20 am]
Pr0nogo -- it's probably more accurate through triggers, unless lotv added more shit to the data editor that would help with this, but i don't think they did
[2016-7-18. : 4:19 am]
Verdant -- xD
[2016-7-18. : 4:19 am]
Verdant -- the only triggers I really use are my op powers so I never lose a match on my mod
[2016-7-18. : 4:19 am]
Verdant -- they did it through triggers, I didn't really want to mess with that
[2016-7-18. : 4:19 am]
Pr0nogo -- idk if it's something that's already been done, you can check out the BW mod that's in the custom games section, I think they aggressively enforce a lot of bw mechanics
[2016-7-18. : 4:19 am]
Verdant -- some lose aggro and others stay behind and stuff
[2016-7-18. : 4:18 am]
Verdant -- in sc2 air units spread out while moving, making them really unreliable to micro
[2016-7-18. : 4:18 am]
Verdant -- to make micro more intuitivei
[2016-7-18. : 4:18 am]
Pr0nogo -- but whatever floats your boat
[2016-7-18. : 4:17 am]
Pr0nogo -- well, i don't know why you'd want to recreate bw air pathing
[2016-7-18. : 4:17 am]
Verdant -- and it's still not perfect
[2016-7-18. : 4:17 am]
Verdant -- to recreate bw air pathing I needed 10 behaviors and 4 validators
[2016-7-18. : 4:17 am]
Verdant -- no kidding
[2016-7-18. : 4:15 am]
Pr0nogo -- it's more difficult to do anything in that engine just because of the extra steps required to make things functional, in brood war most stuff is fairly intuitive (besides modding)
[2016-7-18. : 4:14 am]
Verdant -- trust me, I feel you
[2016-7-18. : 4:14 am]
Pr0nogo -- hint: sc2 is a bad engine for doing pretty much anything, and I only use it if I'm feeling masochistic
[2016-7-18. : 4:12 am]
Verdant -- I fixed it now
[2016-7-18. : 3:22 am]
lil-Inferno -- Verdant
Verdant shouted: I have effectively recreated bw air stacking in sc2
Verdant
Verdant shouted: and I broke it
sounds like it wasn't very effective
[2016-7-18. : 3:17 am]
Verdant -- lol
[2016-7-18. : 3:17 am]
Verdant -- and I broke it
[2016-7-18. : 3:17 am]
Verdant -- without triggerse
[2016-7-18. : 3:17 am]
Verdant -- I have effectively recreated bw air stacking in sc2
[2016-7-18. : 3:17 am]
Verdant -- aww yeah
[2016-7-18. : 3:09 am]
Pr0nogo -- i even changed my avatar to it at some point
[2016-7-18. : 3:09 am]
Pr0nogo -- :hurr: used to be my favourite smilie, i would occasionally drop by on the shoutbox and post just that and leave
[2016-7-18. : 3:03 am]
jjf28 -- bad meme
[2016-7-18. : 3:02 am]
Dem0n -- dead meme
[2016-7-18. : 3:02 am]
Dem0n -- What ever happened to :hurr:
[2016-7-18. : 2:38 am]
jjf28 -- shut down the atoms imo
[2016-7-18. : 2:31 am]
Moose -- https://i.imgur.com/p7yENm0.png ayyyy gun control
[2016-7-18. : 1:25 am]
lil-Inferno -- Roy
Roy shouted: Whose side are you on, Inferno?
Whatever side it's convenient to be on for memes LMAO
[2016-7-18. : 12:19 am]
Corbo -- Roy
Roy shouted: What's wrong with the password recovery? Devourer just revised that system
dev used tabs
[2016-7-18. : 12:13 am]
Dem0n -- Give me code access so I can add forwarding to the message system LMAO
[2016-7-17. : 11:55 pm]
Roy -- Whose side are you on, Inferno?
[2016-7-17. : 11:53 pm]
lil-Inferno -- Dev probably used object-oriented programming to revise it SMH
[2016-7-17. : 11:49 pm]
Roy -- Gettor your shit together.
[2016-7-17. : 11:44 pm]
Roy -- Ideally it should work without a hitch.
[2016-7-17. : 11:44 pm]
Roy -- What's wrong with the password recovery? Devourer just revised that system
[2016-7-17. : 11:11 pm]
lil-Inferno -- Dev pls give me code access
[2016-7-17. : 10:49 pm]
Corbo -- Password recovery system sucks. Dev pls
[2016-7-17. : 9:57 pm]
jjf28 -- wait, (/r*
[2016-7-17. : 9:53 pm]
jjf28 -- CecilSunkure
CecilSunkure shouted: They are gettors on virtual functions, going down the callstack like 5 levels deep
CecilSunkure
CecilSunkure shouted: The attempt was polymorphism, encaspulation and inheritence. All 3 resulted in a ridiculous, slow to compile, slow to maintain, slow to run mess
CecilSunkure
CecilSunkure shouted: Adding another integer becomes a big hassle involving 3-5 files and multiple interfaces
mostly sounds like you(/'re colleagues) need to stop overriding when there's no new behavior
[2016-7-17. : 9:44 pm]
Verdant -- hey ahli, do you know of a way to change the separation radius of an air unit, but only while it's sitting still?
[2016-7-17. : 9:44 pm]
jjf28 -- lil-Inferno
lil-Inferno shouted: jjf28 ...and also a sign of bad design LMAO
not really, an object can have an IS-A relationship with multiple others, keep shallow inheritance trees and you should be able to avoid any diamond problems
[2016-7-17. : 9:43 pm]
Verdant -- fuck this sc2 engine lol
[2016-7-17. : 9:43 pm]
Verdant -- T.T
[2016-7-17. : 9:43 pm]
Verdant -- T,T
[2016-7-17. : 9:43 pm]
jjf28 -- most everything in OO is supported in C++, but then there's tons of stuff for ignoring it :wob:
[2016-7-17. : 9:42 pm]
lil-Inferno -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: Mini Moose 2707 it pretty uniquely supports multiple inheritance, which is nice :)
...and also a sign of bad design LMAO
[2016-7-17. : 9:42 pm]
jjf28 -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: C++ isn't even a good OO language, IMO
it pretty uniquely supports multiple inheritance, which is nice :)
