[2016-8-10. : 3:37 am]
DarkenedFantasies -- yeah but i'm saying if you tried with the Preserve Trigger disabled/removed
[2016-8-10. : 3:37 am]
JCarrill0 -- DarkenedFantasies
DarkenedFantasies shouted: also you don't need both "Ally" and "Allied Victory", the latter sets both statuses
Tried one with, and one without, same issue
[2016-8-10. : 3:37 am]
JCarrill0 -- This is to help prevent a player from turning on you
[2016-8-10. : 3:37 am]
DarkenedFantasies -- also you don't need both "Ally" and "Allied Victory", the latter sets both statuses
[2016-8-10. : 3:36 am]
JCarrill0 -- DarkenedFantasies
DarkenedFantasies shouted: have you tried without Preserve Trigger in the thing that sets ally victory?
Yep. All my maps that have ally status trigger have preserve Triggers.
[2016-8-10. : 3:36 am]
DarkenedFantasies -- have you tried without Preserve Trigger in the thing that sets ally victory?
[2016-8-10. : 3:35 am]
JCarrill0 -- its not one of my defeat triggers, its the one you get for not getting victory issued to you. I just dont understand WHY, since I am supposed to be getting it.
[2016-8-10. : 3:34 am]
JCarrill0 -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: When a player executes a victory trigger, every player that DOESN'T execute victory in that trigger cycle gets defeat
sums it up here.
[2016-8-10. : 3:34 am]
JCarrill0 -- DarkenedFantasies
DarkenedFantasies shouted: try adding "victory switch is cleared" in the conditions for the defeat triggers
since its not my defeat trigger firing, its an auto defeat...
[2016-8-10. : 3:34 am]
JCarrill0 -- DarkenedFantasies
DarkenedFantasies shouted: try adding "victory switch is cleared" in the conditions for the defeat triggers
already tried, still auto defeat
[2016-8-10. : 3:33 am]
DarkenedFantasies -- try adding "victory switch is cleared" in the conditions for the defeat triggers
[2016-8-10. : 3:32 am]
JCarrill0 -- I'm pretty sure over half of current SEN things im so dumb cuz they are probally looking at this map and already see the issue and laughing their @$$ off
[2016-8-10. : 3:31 am]
JCarrill0 -- I even have a switch preventing them from double firing in the newer versions.
[2016-8-10. : 3:30 am]
JCarrill0 -- DarkenedFantasies
DarkenedFantasies shouted: ah
I started to notice that in my newer COOP maps I been developing. SO i been going back and updating since BOTH need to see the hardmode triggers, and the dialogues.
[2016-8-10. : 3:29 am]
DarkenedFantasies -- ah
[2016-8-10. : 3:29 am]
JCarrill0 -- DarkenedFantasies
DarkenedFantasies shouted: btw I think the way the trigger currently is, on Mission 2, only 1 player will receive the transmission (if that other player never brings 2 firebats of their own)
Correct, and I have since fixed that issue ;)
[2016-8-10. : 3:28 am]
DarkenedFantasies -- btw I think the way the trigger currently is, on Mission 2, only 1 player will receive the transmission (if that other player never brings 2 firebats of their own)
[2016-8-10. : 3:25 am]
JCarrill0 -- DarkenedFantasies
DarkenedFantasies shouted: oh it's the one we played before
well, I hope you can enjoy them, I just need to fix the victory bug.
[2016-8-10. : 3:24 am]
JCarrill0 -- sorry for the typos, was going to sleep ealier, then everyone started offering help.. lol
[2016-8-10. : 3:23 am]
DarkenedFantasies -- oh it's the one we played before
[2016-8-10. : 3:22 am]
JCarrill0 -- http://www.staredit.net/sc1db/file/3060/ is the Relased COOP map, check mission2, and go from there. Mission5 is another.
[2016-8-10. : 3:21 am]
JCarrill0 -- DarkenedFantasies
DarkenedFantasies shouted: JC0 I can look at your map, if you want?
Sure, I have been messing with them all day, I uploaded these awhile back, so thiese are older version, yet have the same issue 9since the newer version are tweaking and saves to the current problem, nothing else has been added, since its only one Issue.
[2016-8-10. : 3:19 am]
JCarrill0 -- the end result is simply, one get victory, one gets defat Unfortunatly, and again i rechecked, double checke,d tripple checked and the sums seems to fit, yet I'm wrong.
[2016-8-10. : 3:19 am]
DarkenedFantasies -- JC0 I can look at your map, if you want?
[2016-8-10. : 3:18 am]
JCarrill0 -- Sie_Sayoka
Sie_Sayoka shouted: is coop a special type of map?
No, not really, just a cooperative play (COOP for short)
[2016-8-10. : 3:18 am]
JCarrill0 -- again when these maps were in single player version, they worked perfectly, it wasnt untill I added a second player into the mix that these issues happened. It wasnt liek I added player 2 and saved the map either, I pretty sure i went abck through each trigger making sure each one worked for both players.
[2016-8-10. : 3:18 am]
Sie_Sayoka -- is coop a special type of map?
[2016-8-10. : 3:17 am]
JCarrill0 -- Sie_Sayoka
Sie_Sayoka shouted: well if you know it works you can start looking to what is interfering with it
True. the problem is not ONE map however, its several maps when dealing with COOP.
[2016-8-10. : 3:17 am]
JCarrill0 -- the topic remain, when issuing a victory sequence, for a COOP, one player seems to get victory, while the other gets auto defeat. I understand the rule, I just dont understand why its happening when i have taken steps to amke sure its synced up
[2016-8-10. : 3:16 am]
Sie_Sayoka -- well if you know it works you can start looking to what is interfering with it
[2016-8-10. : 3:15 am]
JCarrill0 -- Sie_Sayoka
Sie_Sayoka shouted: yeah if it works in the test map you know something is wrong in your other map
agreed, but.. what is the issue?
[2016-8-10. : 3:15 am]
JCarrill0 -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: Generally when debugging, you want to strip out as much as you can to get the smallest thing that still doesn't work.
I just add a simple debug trigger to the switches, cuz the result will be the same, and so far Its debugging fine, cuz the issue is the same'
[2016-8-10. : 3:15 am]
Moose -- This is to flush out the boundary of what does and doesn't work to find the root cause.
[2016-8-10. : 3:15 am]
Sie_Sayoka -- yeah if it works in the test map you know something is wrong in your other map
[2016-8-10. : 3:15 am]
Moose -- Or, alternately, build things up until you get the largest possible thing that still works.
[2016-8-10. : 3:14 am]
Moose -- Generally when debugging, you want to strip out as much as you can to get the smallest thing that still doesn't work.
[2016-8-10. : 3:14 am]
JCarrill0 -- Sie_Sayoka
Sie_Sayoka shouted: did you make a test map and it produces the same effect?
these a COOP maps, in single player version (none fo these are issues)
[2016-8-10. : 3:14 am]
Sie_Sayoka -- try that first
[2016-8-10. : 3:14 am]
JCarrill0 -- Sie_Sayoka
Sie_Sayoka shouted: did you make a test map and it produces the same effect?
I have not no.
[2016-8-10. : 3:14 am]
Sie_Sayoka -- did you make a test map and it produces the same effect?
[2016-8-10. : 3:13 am]
JCarrill0 -- im sure its something freaking simple that a 5 year old can see it, but I am not.
[2016-8-10. : 3:13 am]
Sie_Sayoka -- lol
[2016-8-10. : 3:13 am]
JCarrill0 -- Sie_Sayoka
Sie_Sayoka shouted: why do you need the victory to be under an elaborate trigger?
i tried removing the switches and what not to see if it was needing to go back to basics, and it gives a auto defeat as well.
[2016-8-10. : 3:12 am]
JCarrill0 -- Sie_Sayoka
Sie_Sayoka shouted: why do you need the victory to be under an elaborate trigger?
I don;t I just need it to fire properly.
[2016-8-10. : 3:12 am]
JCarrill0 -- I tried to also mimic what ROY had taught me in this: JCarrill0
JCarrill0 shouted: FaRTy1billion I had a similar problem here: http://www.staredit.net/topic/6001/ I have tried to mimic this set-up to fix the auto defeat during vicotry settings.
but unfortunately that rule doesn't apply/work here.
[2016-8-10. : 3:12 am]
Sie_Sayoka -- why do you need the victory to be under an elaborate trigger?
[2016-8-10. : 3:11 am]
JCarrill0 -- mission 2 is pretty damn simple, sent some unit to a location and boom victory, unfortunately... it gives defeat instead.
[2016-8-10. : 3:10 am]
JCarrill0 -- I had this issue with a newer COOP map of mine. I opened these up today to see how to fix my issue, and then I see that these also have it. (someone on ModDB also reported the issue as well)
[2016-8-10. : 3:09 am]
JCarrill0 -- JCarrill0
JCarrill0 shouted: Seems Demon the COOP mission 2, from this is broken too: http://www.staredit.net/sc1db/file/3060/
these are the eons I am working on.
[2016-8-10. : 3:08 am]
Moose -- Post the map.
[2016-8-10. : 3:07 am]
JCarrill0 -- From what I am gathering... Someone else is getting victory, and I am not, now how can that be when in this TESTing I am the only Freaking player!
[2016-8-10. : 3:07 am]
JCarrill0 -- the way I am understanding it (which probally is dumb) but its the way I order the switches. something so simple like having the switch in the wrong place can throw off the victory.
[2016-8-10. : 3:06 am]
Moose -- TBH, make your dialogue and victory switch based on DCs instead of waits
[2016-8-10. : 3:05 am]
JCarrill0 -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: If you take out the dialogue and associated waits?
I think when I debugged it to remove the dialogue it worked fine... but again (dialogue is art of the COOP)
[2016-8-10. : 3:05 am]
JCarrill0 -- I just edited it without the switches, to amke a stremaed lined victory, and still defualt defeat... HOW?!!!
[2016-8-10. : 3:05 am]
Moose -- If you take out the dialogue and associated waits?
[2016-8-10. : 3:04 am]
JCarrill0 -- I even added the allied victory trigger right before the vicotry action, Nothing
[2016-8-10. : 3:04 am]
JCarrill0 -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: So let me get this straight, always -> set switch 1, switch 1 is set -> victory, you're not getting victory?
Correct, in a sense, keep in mind there is a dialogue before the victory action fires.
[2016-8-10. : 3:03 am]
Moose -- So let me get this straight, always -> set switch 1, switch 1 is set -> victory, you're not getting victory?
[2016-8-10. : 3:02 am]
JCarrill0 -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: And are you setting it before or after the victory trigger that uses the switch condition?
I set it after, I set it before, both gave me the same results
[2016-8-10. : 3:01 am]
JCarrill0 -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: Who is setting the switch? You?
yes I am setting the switch
[2016-8-10. : 3:01 am]
JCarrill0 -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: If it's the same as this other map
well, the same rule applis, I have been editing these maps all days so... no they are no longer the same maps
[2016-8-10. : 3:00 am]
Dem0n -- If it's the same as this other map
[2016-8-10. : 3:00 am]
Dem0n -- It is before
[2016-8-10. : 2:59 am]
Moose -- And are you setting it before or after the victory trigger that uses the switch condition?
[2016-8-10. : 2:59 am]
Moose -- Who is setting the switch? You?
[2016-8-10. : 2:59 am]
JCarrill0 -- I'm thinking I'm going to remove the switch for victory and try tweaking it without a switch.
[2016-8-10. : 2:58 am]
Moose -- Have it do some shit like make a marine for current player right before victory to figure out which player it is
[2016-8-10. : 2:58 am]
JCarrill0 -- JCarrill0
JCarrill0 shouted: FaRTy1billion I had a similar problem here: http://www.staredit.net/topic/6001/ I have tried to mimic this set-up to fix the auto defeat during vicotry settings.
take a look at this link.
[2016-8-10. : 2:57 am]
JCarrill0 -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: Then someone is running the victory trigger, and it ain't you LMAO
I know right!
