Broflamingo -- TiKels
TiKels shouted: TiKels I wanna get back to this. The language around racism is absurdly obtuse to the point that it is uneducateable
I agree, in the sense that, its become a catchall is not productive at all. It's become a tired word TiKels
TiKels shouted: It is fair to have these ideas be RELATED, but to have them be the same word is horrid.
I agree.
[2017-6-11. : 5:08 pm]
TiKels -- Broflamingo
Broflamingo shouted: TiKels laissez-faire economics pretty much, or close to it. Example: College education has now become a profit center. This is something that should be the outside of realm of profits, its a public good. Yet you have for profit colleges (mainly effects minortiies and low income) that force you practically into debt. And higher learning has just become bloated beyond belief. The bachelor degree has become the baseline now.
you hear NY is changing that shit? Hot damn

TiKels -- It is fair to have these ideas be RELATED, but to have them be the same word is horrid.
[2017-6-11. : 5:07 pm]
Broflamingo -- For profit prisons are probably a good example too.
[2017-6-11. : 5:07 pm]
Broflamingo -- TiKels
TiKels shouted: I'm sorry I don't understand. I don't know what you mean by toxic capitalism

TiKels -- "Racism" as a word can mean a harmful action done against someone due to prejudice... or the societal groove cut out by the nature of our institutions
[2017-6-11. : 5:05 pm]
TiKels -- TiKels
TiKels shouted: My absolute least favorite part about racism is the fact that the damn language surrounding the word is so poorly constructed. Everything is piled under one word
I wanna get back to this. The language around racism is absurdly obtuse to the point that it is uneducateable
[2017-6-11. : 5:03 pm]
TiKels -- (Possibly)
[2017-6-11. : 5:03 pm]
TiKels -- Trump might not believe a word he says, and neither does any politician
[2017-6-11. : 5:02 pm]
TiKels -- I'm starating to believe that politicians as an idea are just social kingpins. They are voted in based upon molding to their surroundings
[2017-6-11. : 5:01 pm]
TiKels -- I'm sorry I don't understand. I don't know what you mean by toxic capitalism
[2017-6-11. : 5:01 pm]
Broflamingo -- Mainly republicans but both parties are complicit. Man Bill Clinton third way democrats were toxic as fuck.
[2017-6-11. : 4:59 pm]
Broflamingo -- TiKels
TiKels shouted: Regardless of everything, I think it would be nice to see everyone else's opinion and responses in a Controlled environment for the discussion
agreed TiKels
TiKels shouted: Broflamingo would you mind making a topic in discussion so I don't have to use the shoutbox?
Maybe i will in the future. But i want to say this: In the current political climate white americans are angry because that unspoken promise of white privileged that was promised to them is being eroded by toxic capitalism. White life expectancy dropped below African Americans last year because of the toxic capitalism/white privilege has destroyed middle america. Alot of the midwest/rust belt towns where factories closed are just opioid mills being sold a story that has been long gone since the 1980's.

lil-Inferno shouted: Mini Moose 2707 Not in Italian.

[2017-6-11. : 4:54 pm]
Broflamingo -- TiKels
TiKels shouted: Broflamingo my first issue with your statement is a small semantic one that's making it difficult for me to understand your claim. You claim it "literally affects every facet of life" and then put the modifier "to some extent" it makes it sound like it could possibly not affect some things to a measurable extent. Can you demonstrate this claim or otherwise put evidence towards it? I'm genuinely curious
2nd: You will have to read on these things. A good primer is "The New Jim Crow" By Michelle Alexander, i believe she has a Ph.D.
[2017-6-11. : 4:53 pm]
TiKels -- Broflamingo
Broflamingo shouted: TiKels Understood. To clarify lets take african-americans some are born in abject poverty, lower class, middle class, upper class. While the more money you have will insulate you some from the effects of racism. All will be affected by it in someway in society.
would you mind making a topic in discussion so I don't have to use the shoutbox?
[2017-6-11. : 4:53 pm]
TiKels -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: lil-Inferno That's one n, and the tilde is important LMAO
Anno is latin for year. Anho is portugués for year

Not in Italian.
[2017-6-11. : 4:51 pm]
TiKels -- It seems like hyperbole, rather than actually drawing a line with what the affect of all forms of racism is
[2017-6-11. : 4:50 pm]
TiKels -- Broflamingo
Broflamingo shouted: TiKels When talking about these issues people ask the wrong question. When Institutional racism/systemic racism literally affect every facet of life to some extent, its time to stop trying to fix things in isolation and look at the root cause. Meaning, you can fix say school choice, without actually addressing the racism that underlines it.

[2017-6-11. : 4:47 pm]
TiKels -- lil-Inferno
lil-Inferno shouted: TiKels I don't think that means what you think it means.
I am making an analogy to the skinner box experiment, wherein it was demonstrated that attempting to push a button (shout button) on a perceptively random schedule (whether someone breaks sen) to get a reward (put out my opinion). It seems like an apt comparison to me
[2017-6-11. : 4:46 pm]
Broflamingo -- you cant* fix
[2017-6-11. : 4:46 pm]
Broflamingo -- TiKels

TiKels -- Broflamingo
Broflamingo shouted: TiKels At every step of the way weather it be institutional racism or flat out racism. There is should a study on how the variable 'R' (Racism) affects economic wealth accumulation for these groups. Variable 'R' affects EVERYTHING housing choices, school choices, job prospects, political outlook e.t.c TiKels Yessir.

Broflamingo -- TiKels
TiKels shouted: Families in low income/bad situations have trouble offering the resources to their children to allow them to succeed financially, making low income tend to breed more low income. Due to historical racism in the US, many families ended up poor, and discouraged from becowing rich, due to the aforementioned inertia of lack of ability to help them succeed

TiKels -- Broflamingo
Broflamingo shouted: TiKels Racism plays a role: look at gentrification and redlining, this were not organic situations: they were deployed by federal and local governments to keep blacks, mexicans, jews out of the main driver of American wealth...homeownership

Broflamingo -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Broflamingo Are you saying black people cannot become rich and thus they become jealous of whites which turns into racism - and whites are generally more wealthy and thus look down upon blacks, also creating racism? I sure hope not, because that'd be a prime example of racist thinking.
BROWNAGE.

[2017-6-11. : 3:24 pm]
NudeRaider -- I'd say it's impressive that Falkoner is still 4th on most posts, but it actually only shows how inactive SEN has become.
[2017-6-11. : 3:19 pm]
Moose -- Bunch of meme stats. Imagine if Reddit or Facebook had a user list LMAO

[2017-6-11. : 3:15 pm]

[2017-6-11. : 3:14 pm]
payne -- And I'm on the second page of the Most Active Members
[2017-6-11. : 3:12 pm]
