[2017-7-13. : 1:44 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Does that make more sense now? xD I guess I was focusing too much on "we're interpreting it wrong" instead of "that's how it is supposed to work anyway"[2017-7-13. : 1:41 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Also, reading back over that wall of text, I explained that poorly. xD Let me start over. poiuy_qwertpoiuy_qwert shouted: so you just use the first half for idle and second half for talking no matter the entry count? poiuy_qwertpoiuy_qwert shouted: yeah, what I mean though is that each entry is not contiguous, so marine idle is at offset 0, marine talking is at offset (fileSize / 2) this is the correct way to do it, and DatExt will add entries in that way. xD This is because it's actually two arrays of equal size shoved one after the other.[2017-7-13. : 1:36 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- but even if you do poiuy_qwertpoiuy_qwert shouted: yeah, what I mean though is that each entry is not contiguous, so marine idle is at offset 0, marine talking is at offset (fileSize / 2) , it will still work because poiuy_qwertpoiuy_qwert shouted: so you just use the first half for idle and second half for talking no matter the entry count? is functionally identical to how SC reads it[2017-7-13. : 1:34 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- also that should say talking "Unknown1" xD used to writing incrementing numbers after "unknown"[2017-7-13. : 1:33 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- the only array that's referenced is the idle SMK change, but I don't know if it adds to that offset or something[2017-7-13. : 1:32 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- also I'm not totally sure, but talking SMK change might also be unused[2017-7-13. : 1:31 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- aalso what I meant with FaRTy1billionFaRTy1billion shouted: DatEdit you have to add extra entries in the middle which is weird and stupid , because the file is laid out this way, adding extended portraits means you have to add the idles between the last idle and first talking portrait, because that's the actual end of the list[2017-7-13. : 1:29 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- If you really want to read it as 3 arrays and then do count / 2, that's the same I guess ... but it should really be every field duplicated and only 110 entries total[2017-7-13. : 1:28 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- https://pastebin.com/TsTePYuk here's the loading table ripped from SC[2017-7-13. : 1:26 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- poiuy_qwertpoiuy_qwert shouted: you sure about that? I'm pretty sure I don't change the order of the entries when I treat them as 220 and marine talking is at id 110 that's because you're combining the pairs of arrays into a total of 3 arrays[2017-7-13. : 1:26 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- the first array is idle SMK, the second is talking SMK, then idle smk change, then talking smk change, then idle whatever and talking whatever[2017-7-13. : 1:26 am] poiuy_qwert -- you sure about that? I'm pretty sure I don't change the order of the entries when I treat them as 220 and marine talking is at id 110[2017-7-13. : 1:24 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- poiuy_qwertpoiuy_qwert shouted: yeah, what I mean though is that each entry is not contiguous, so marine idle is at offset 0, marine talking is at offset (fileSize / 2) it isn't, marine idle is at 0, marine talking is also at 0[2017-7-13. : 1:24 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- it also makes more sense that way anyway, because why would you want to scroll down 110 entries to edit an unreferenced instance of the same thing[2017-7-13. : 1:23 am] poiuy_qwert -- yeah, what I mean though is that each entry is not contiguous, so marine idle is at offset 0, marine talking is at offset (fileSize / 2)[2017-7-13. : 1:19 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- so portdata is 110 entries and 6 fields, not the 220 entries and 3 fields that people try to say it is[2017-7-13. : 1:17 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- there are only 110 entries, and each field is doubled for the talking and idle portraits[2017-7-13. : 1:15 am] poiuy_qwert -- so you just use the first half for idle and second half for talking no matter the entry count?[2017-7-13. : 1:13 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- DatEdit you have to add extra entries in the middle which is weird and stupid[2017-7-13. : 1:08 am] poiuy_qwert -- FaRTy, I'm planning to update PyDAT's handling of portdata to be only 110 entries combining idle+talking portraits. will that be an issue when I want to support your extended dat files?[2017-7-13. : 1:00 am] BeatMeistro -- Voyager7456Voyager7456 shouted: I'll send you some files via PM. Okay, sure.[2017-7-13. : 12:55 am] Voyager7456 -- If you'd like to save me some work, by all means please go ahead. ![]() [2017-7-13. : 12:53 am] BeatMeistro -- Voyager7456Voyager7456 shouted: The portraits are all <unit_name>p.spr in the same directory as the units Okay, cool. I kinda am interested on checking those out. I think the portrait could be split between "TLK" and "FID" and such.[2017-7-13. : 12:50 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Dem0nDem0n shouted: Make a mod that replaces unit grps with dicks Voyager7456Voyager7456 shouted: Dem0n Hercanic once outlined a porn mod to me over messenger lmao Space Phallus the RTS?[2017-7-13. : 12:47 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Voyager7456Voyager7456 shouted: The portraits are all <unit_name>p.spr in the same directory as the units lol I noticed the p files but didn't actually try one to see what it was[2017-7-13. : 12:44 am] Voyager7456 -- The portraits are all <unit_name>p.spr in the same directory as the units[2017-7-13. : 12:42 am] Pr0nogo -- oh, i converted most of the graphics I think, or at least named a lot of them[2017-7-13. : 12:40 am] Voyager7456 -- There's no need to do that, they're in the same format as the unit graphics.[2017-7-13. : 12:17 am] BeatMeistro -- So Voyager, i watched videos of Armageddon (The Starcraft Clone) lately, and i see there's a good number of animated portraits in there, might be handy. I wonder what format those portraits are.[2017-7-12. : 11:53 pm] poiuy_qwert -- np. you could also probably find some better+more detailed tutorials on creating a wineskin wrapper online as well[2017-7-12. : 11:51 pm] m.0.n.3.y -- poiuy_qwertpoiuy_qwert shouted: m.0.n.3.y Yeah sorry I'm not sure whats happening Lol not your fault. I think I just don't know how to WINE this shit properly lol. Like I'm not sure why it's not actually creating a SC I can run. But whatever, guess i'll just wait until blizz or SI make a mac compatible editor![]() [2017-7-12. : 11:46 pm] poiuy_qwert -- m.0.n.3.ym.0.n.3.y shouted: poiuy_qwert Yeah dude IDK. I just tried WINEing the sc again using your DL, but it just created the same thing with the "Contents" folder inside of it. Not sure what I'm doing wrong... Oh well.. Yeah sorry I'm not sure whats happening ![]() [2017-7-12. : 11:42 pm] m.0.n.3.y -- poiuy_qwertpoiuy_qwert shouted: and starting again Yeah dude IDK. I just tried WINEing the sc again using your DL, but it just created the same thing with the "Contents" folder inside of it. Not sure what I'm doing wrong... Oh well..![]() [2017-7-12. : 11:32 pm] m.0.n.3.y -- Also thank you for helping me! This is taking much longer than expected[2017-7-12. : 11:32 pm] m.0.n.3.y -- poiuy_qwertpoiuy_qwert shouted: Yeah I get them confused sometimes :S Hahaha you're not the only one. So, erm, what do I do now then lol[2017-7-12. : 11:30 pm] poiuy_qwert -- hmm, I just realized I think you might be using a different program. I use Wineskin Winery, from here: http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.php?page=Downloads[2017-7-12. : 11:29 pm] m.0.n.3.y -- poiuy_qwertpoiuy_qwert shouted: m.0.n.3.y Ok then right click it and "Show Package Contents", and then open Wineskin.app So when I click "Show Package Contents" all there is is a folder called "Contents" > then "info.plist", "MacOS", and "Resources" inside of that[2017-7-12. : 11:27 pm] poiuy_qwert -- m.0.n.3.ym.0.n.3.y shouted: Whenever I click on the StarCraft that I apparently "WINEd" (which is not in my "Applications") it just tries to run StarCraft, even if I double click while holding alt/option. So I'm not sure how to Install the WINE SCM Draft into the StarCraft.app that is in my "Applications" folder? Ok then right click it and "Show Package Contents", and then open Wineskin.app[2017-7-12. : 11:26 pm] m.0.n.3.y -- Whenever I click on the StarCraft that I apparently "WINEd" (which is not in my "Applications") it just tries to run StarCraft, even if I double click while holding alt/option. I'm not really sure what you mean?[2017-7-12. : 11:19 pm] poiuy_qwert -- If you hold the Alt/Option key while you double click the .app, you will get the winskin UI again, then you can install SCMDraft into it and use Advanced to change the executable path to SCMDraft[2017-7-12. : 11:18 pm] poiuy_qwert -- m.0.n.3.ym.0.n.3.y shouted: poiuy_qwert Gotcha... Hmm and then how do you link SCM Draft to it? Here's what I did: DL'd windows Zip SC version > used WINE to open it via "Installation mode: execute file (installer)" > then move the SC it created to Applications on mac (which is where my SCM Draft is) > linked the path in SCM Draft to that StarCraft now in my Applications > SCM Draft now wont launch So you want to install SCMDraft into the same .app as the StarCraft one[2017-7-12. : 11:17 pm] poiuy_qwert -- Pr0nogoPr0nogo shouted: You will probably be the first person to touch it besides me, I would love any feedback ![]() ![]() [2017-7-12. : 11:16 pm] m.0.n.3.y -- poiuy_qwertpoiuy_qwert shouted: m.0.n.3.y It used to work, but unfortunately I can't get it to work anymore. I at least have it launch, but it then crashes with a generic wine error window Gotcha... Hmm and then how do you link SCM Draft to it? When I hit "Launch" it doesn't do anything It used to work, but unfortunately I can't get it to work anymore. I at least have it launch, but it then crashes with a generic wine error window |
