Dem0n -- Turns out Edge works really well on it, but Firefox and Chrome shit all over it
[2017-9-28. : 2:36 am]
Dem0n -- no, I use that laptop like once a month when I go back to my parents' house so it's w/e
[2017-9-28. : 2:35 am]
Pauper -- weird, have you tried resetting internet options?
[2017-9-28. : 1:32 am]
Dem0n -- nope
[2017-9-28. : 1:24 am]
Pauper -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: Nah, it's like as soon as I open firefox and it loads google or whatever the home page is, the CPU goes beserk.
do you have any addons or anything? for example on your Mozilla account do you have a bunch of addons and settings associated with it? could it be that its trying to sync all those settings ans bookmarks to you new PC?
[2017-9-28. : 1:05 am]
jjf28 -- just gotta watch for background cpu usage (easy in chrome with separate processes per tab, other browsers might have some kinda profiling), can change browser settings to prompt before activating javascript on websites, though you need it for most things

Mini Moose 2707 shouted: If they manage GPU mining in javascript, they might get somewhere
how would you scan for this shit
[2017-9-27. : 11:52 pm]
lil-Inferno -- so I can watch the fresh porn later LMAO
[2017-9-27. : 11:52 pm]

Mini Moose 2707 shouted: Dem0n Dem0n So, this may not be the actual problem, but some sites (ex. Pirate Bay, Showtime) have actually started sticking in javascript that silently mines cryptocurrency for them in the user's browser. (presumably in response to decreasing ad revenue and adblockers)
probs the next wave of monetizing mobile games LMAO
[2017-9-27. : 10:03 pm]
Dem0n -- w/e, like $200 toshiba craptop
[2017-9-27. : 10:03 pm]
Dem0n -- Nah, it's like as soon as I open firefox and it loads google or whatever the home page is, the CPU goes beserk.
[2017-9-27. : 10:00 pm]
Moose -- If that's happening, it would bop your CPU pretty easily while it appears to be doing nothing. (CPU mining is not efficient enough to be profitable by now, but they don't care because it's your electricity bill anyway.)
[2017-9-27. : 9:58 pm]
Moose -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: Why do CPUs degrade so fast
Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: Two year old laptop with an albeit poor CPU can't run a web browser without hitting 99% CPU usage
So, this may not be the actual problem, but some sites (ex. Pirate Bay, Showtime) have actually started sticking in javascript that silently mines cryptocurrency for them in the user's browser. (presumably in response to decreasing ad revenue and adblockers)

NudeRaider shouted: If I get this guy right he's got it pretty balanced, but defending is too easy. Sounds more like a mechanics / terrain redesign job
I just saw this. The base is on high terrain and the attackers are on low terrain. I set all of the terrain to the same. I originally did that to make surviving a bit easier and completely forgot about that. I then increased the turret health by 30%. I think this should balance things out now... I will have to give it a shot.
[2017-9-27. : 7:02 pm]
jjf28 -- HLS requires white to scan, setup, rotate heals, block, and shuffle/retreat at once if evil is playing right

jjf28 -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: If I get this guy right he's got it pretty balanced, but defending is too easy. Sounds more like a mechanics / terrain redesign job
enable attackers to split the defenders attention, get the stats right, and the players will do the rest
[2017-9-27. : 6:32 pm]
NudeRaider -- I guess we'd have to play the map to find out why this obvious solution won't work.
[2017-9-27. : 6:31 pm]
Ultraviolet -- ;)
[2017-9-27. : 6:31 pm]
Ultraviolet -- Make the base weaker duh
[2017-9-27. : 6:24 pm]
NudeRaider -- I too have only read the description
[2017-9-27. : 6:23 pm]
Ultraviolet -- hmm maybe, I'm too caught up with what I'm doing to look at the map itself :P
[2017-9-27. : 6:01 pm]
NudeRaider -- If I get this guy right he's got it pretty balanced, but defending is too easy. Sounds more like a mechanics / terrain redesign job
[2017-9-27. : 5:51 pm]
Ultraviolet -- That's what I'd recommend trying for your situation
[2017-9-27. : 5:51 pm]
Ultraviolet -- I'm in the process of making a spreadsheet and inputting all unit data from my map so I can compare values (ex: (HP+SHLD)/Tier, DPS/Tier, (DPS/upg)/Tier)
[2017-9-27. : 5:08 pm]
Pauper -- Hey guys, any help would be appreciated. http://www.staredit.net/topic/17469/ Having troubles balancing my map.. not sure if there are not tips/tricks for balancing.

poiuy_qwert shouted: NudeRaider I was surprised to see ProTRG on the list, wasn't sure if anyone was still around that knew of it. Also not exactly sure what your comment with it means ;P
why not? It was one of the first, but I'd imagine it still works fine? As I've said I have no idea what their different selling points are so I made something up on the spot. And I just thought the examples looked pretty sleek and clean. ;)

NudeRaider shouted: judging from my half-assed reply to that, we should really weed out our trigger generators. Personally I haven't used more than one or two and have no idea what their different selling points are - if they even care to set themselves apart
Replied in thread but thanks for the help Nude. Unfortunately those are all too complicated for me to use and the one that seemed like it could be good won't run. Imma just have to suck it up and input them manually haha. Thanks tho :D
[2017-9-26. : 11:36 pm]

m.0.n.3.y -- Roy
Roy shouted: NudeRaider Splitting out the x and y axis can get more rounded shapes, but it's really up to how important accuracy is.
NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: m.0.n.3.y quick comment. It would work. Just not very accurate without needing a lot of locations. Also locations are rectangular, so the distance from a corner point is up to 1.4 times farther away than from a point in the middle of a location edge. Improving on this will be difficult. A possible venue would be to use a coordinate grid and do the math. ugly.
So I just went with the straightforward way, but now I have a question on how to auto generate triggers

Gotcha. Well I guess it doesn't need to be the most accurate thing, but I'll at least see how it goes, better than doing a location grid i think haha

O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Dem0n spending all your money already is. It's often the reason have to loan money - sometimes more than they can handle.
NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: I mean you live in a system that intentionally foregoes social security over personal freedom. What if you just bought that (not so) fancy laptop and suddenly fall ill or get injured? You have no income anymore and possibly a large hospital bill. Just don't spend everything you have, because then you have less than the rest of the world.
you gotta spend money to make money1
[2017-9-26. : 6:44 am]
NudeRaider -- you literally spent your backup plan, which others pay monthly for in taxes.
[2017-9-26. : 6:44 am]

NudeRaider -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: Why do CPUs degrade so fast
I don't think they do. I have my CPU like 6 years now, and I bought it used, and it's still able to handle most things fine. We only had 5-10% performance gain per year for the majority of the last decade.
[2017-9-26. : 5:29 am]
Roy -- The answer to your question, NudeRaider, is left as an exercise for the reader.

Roy shouted: Just build this: http://www.staredit.net/topic/17455/
who said I don't? jjf28
jjf28 shouted: NudeRaider Black Friday's just around the corner
true, but the more reasonably featured (and priced) mainboards are likely not gonna come out until next year.
[2017-9-26. : 3:30 am]
Pr0nogo -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: if the interest would exceed the black friday savings, then it's a no-go
it's a me?
[2017-9-26. : 2:57 am]
Dem0n -- I mean, the interest only matters if you don't pay it off in time, and if you're planning to make late payments, just don't get a credit card LMAO
[2017-9-26. : 2:15 am]
jjf28 -- if the interest would exceed the black friday savings, then it's a no-go

[2017-9-25. : 11:17 pm]
jjf28 -- I should probably get a credit card and just do the math on the purchase
[2017-9-25. : 11:16 pm]
jjf28 -- here I want to shop for a replacement secondary-laptop (med-power, lightweight, inexpensive sort of affair), but I might be low funds due to paying out my contract value o.O
[2017-9-25. : 11:15 pm]
jjf28 -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: hm I'm wondering if I should treat myself with a new CPU (and all that comes with it) for christmas, or if it's maybe worth waiting until after christmas or until the cheaper mobo chips hit the market.
