jjf28 -- i'm guessing you previoudly downloaded as zip?
[2016-1-24. : 2:19 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I made an account and hit all the 3 buttons at the top of chkd's page. :P
[2016-1-24. : 2:19 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- How do I git?
[2016-1-24. : 2:11 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Why does git have scary octopuscats? D:
[2016-1-24. : 2:09 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- It's code I'm putting in chkdraft
[2016-1-24. : 1:56 am]
Moose -- Use them, they'll confuse newbie programmers who would otherwise ruin your code. X^DDDDDDD
[2016-1-24. : 1:55 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I've used function arrays/pointers before and I think they're cool
[2016-1-24. : 1:55 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Lanthanide
Lanthanide shouted: but if you're not writing generic code where slotting in a different function pointer is something that you'd want to do, that would indicate that function pointers don't give you any advantage in your situation, and you should probably just use a switch statement
Each function is the same, and I'm copying SC code that already uses function pointers .. I just don't know if other people want me to keep it that way :P
[2016-1-24. : 1:54 am]
Generalpie -- jjf28 >tumblr

Lanthanide -- but if you're not writing generic code where slotting in a different function pointer is something that you'd want to do, that would indicate that function pointers don't give you any advantage in your situation, and you should probably just use a switch statement
[2016-1-24. : 12:37 am]
Lanthanide -- similarly if you're writing generic infrastructure code that needs to deal with different types of objects, each different object can slot in its own function for the generic infrastructure code to use
[2016-1-24. : 12:36 am]
Lanthanide -- then each particular piece of hardware has its own way of drawing the object, so it populates the pointer with one that points to its own implementation of the draw funciton
[2016-1-24. : 12:35 am]
Lanthanide -- eg, the application software says "I want to draw this object on the screen like that" so it calls the driver function for it
[2016-1-24. : 12:35 am]
Lanthanide -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: Are function arrays/pointers bad, or should I just use switch statements?
arrays of function pointers let you do OO-like things, and are especially good for driver code
[2016-1-24. : 12:00 am]
Moose -- And now I'm watching the old flash with the terrible photoshops. Alan Greenspan's best music video.
[2016-1-23. : 11:57 pm]

[2016-1-23. : 8:05 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- only guessed at it though based on SC's code having GetTickCount everywhere
[2016-1-23. : 8:04 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: when you know you shouldn't be up this late and don't feel like sleeping

O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- poiuy_qwert
poiuy_qwert shouted: FaRTy1billion how many ms per tick?
no idea, However many that is the resolution of GetTickCount ... I think it's usually like 12-20ms
[2016-1-23. : 6:16 pm]
lil-Inferno -- lmao you got no chill fam bruh smh
[2016-1-23. : 6:14 pm]

[2016-1-23. : 4:42 pm]
lil-Inferno -- rekt
[2016-1-23. : 4:32 pm]

[2016-1-23. : 7:26 am]
poiuy_qwert -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: there is the timer, which is 8, and it ticks every time GetTickCount changes
how many ms per tick?
[2016-1-23. : 7:22 am]
jjf28 -- too lazy to find it tho xD
[2016-1-23. : 7:22 am]
jjf28 -- I'm sure there's an elegant timed message queue somewhere
[2016-1-23. : 7:00 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- you could probably do like sleep(0) or sleep(1) to the same effect
[2016-1-23. : 7:00 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- so I do like if(lastgtc < GetTickCount()) { dostuff; lastgtc = GetTickCount(); }
[2016-1-23. : 6:59 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- there is the timer, which is 8, and it ticks every time GetTickCount changes
[2016-1-23. : 6:36 am]
poiuy_qwert -- hey FaRTy, what is the unit of time for color cycle?
[2016-1-23. : 5:40 am]
