zsnakezz -- i just imagine it not replacing it automatically and me having to do it, the 1990's must of been filled with stuff like that
[2016-5-01. : 4:43 pm]
zsnakezz -- oh thats fine
[2016-5-01. : 4:43 pm]
jjf28 -- You just need to re-add the sound file with the same name
[2016-5-01. : 4:42 pm]
jjf28 -- zsnakezz
zsnakezz shouted: re setting all the triggers to play the sounds again would take literally all night
oh no the triggers will stay just fine
[2016-5-01. : 4:42 pm]
NudeRaider -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: It's one key on my keyboard.
the key is the tab key. the thing you're generating with it is the tab stop.
[2016-5-01. : 4:42 pm]
zsnakezz -- just kidding
[2016-5-01. : 4:42 pm]
zsnakezz -- also my computer says your file is not popular and potentially dangerous, is this a common phrase in your life jeff
[2016-5-01. : 4:41 pm]
zsnakezz -- oh well got nothing else going on
[2016-5-01. : 4:41 pm]
zsnakezz -- re setting all the triggers to play the sounds again would take literally all night
[2016-5-01. : 4:40 pm]
zsnakezz -- wow, i just realized how much work that's going to be
[2016-5-01. : 4:39 pm]
jjf28 -- by the by, the bug from older versions of Chkdraft where it removes any 3rd party WAVs stored in the MPQ is probably still in String Repair Util, so save a backup/lmk if you need help transferring the WAVs back in
[2016-5-01. : 4:38 pm]
zsnakezz -- but yeah im gonna download that program to see if it fixes this error thanks roy
[2016-5-01. : 4:37 pm]

zsnakezz -- i make my maps disorganized on purpose so i can surprise myself when shit happens
[2016-5-01. : 4:36 pm]
Roy -- In fact, that's exactly what I did for Farlap.
[2016-5-01. : 4:35 pm]
Roy -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: why the hell string checking is there is anyone's guess :P
I throw code in the window backend when I'm being lazy and don't care about design.
[2016-5-01. : 4:35 pm]
zsnakezz -- thats why i was curious
[2016-5-01. : 4:35 pm]
zsnakezz -- says its in the windows folder
[2016-5-01. : 4:34 pm]
jjf28 -- why the hell string checking is there is anyone's guess :P
[2016-5-01. : 4:34 pm]
jjf28 -- ninja'd
[2016-5-01. : 4:34 pm]
jjf28 -- clearly the implementation file for the programs primary windows
[2016-5-01. : 4:34 pm]
Roy -- Sounds like a C++ source file for the main window UI.
[2016-5-01. : 4:33 pm]
zsnakezz -- what is /cmaingui.cpp?
[2016-5-01. : 4:32 pm]
jjf28 -- Roy
Roy shouted: It's current year, people!
QFT
[2016-5-01. : 4:32 pm]
Roy -- Clokr_
Clokr_ shouted: Roy Indent once the labels, indent twice the text within the labels. Actually it does have settings to set it that way with C switches, but not with C++ classes and the public, private, protected labels.
That sounds pretty standard to me. Surprising that it won't format them correctly.

[2016-5-01. : 4:31 pm]
Roy -- Running out of strings is quite possible.
[2016-5-01. : 4:31 pm]
Roy -- You can check the string editor to see usage.
[2016-5-01. : 4:30 pm]
zsnakezz -- i could literally be running out of strings too, thats something i havn't thought of
[2016-5-01. : 4:30 pm]
zsnakezz -- i never opened it anywhere else, was starting to think it was a windows 7 thing
[2016-5-01. : 4:30 pm]
Roy -- Standard advice is to stick to one editor, namely ScmDraft.
[2016-5-01. : 4:29 pm]
Roy -- It's a common issue if you tend to use more than one editor.
[2016-5-01. : 4:29 pm]
Moose -- Clokr_
Clokr_ shouted: Mini Moose 2707 IDEs are not as flexible as you'd think. I tried to get the C switch indenting the way I like with VStudio and it didn't have the right options.
Microsoft problems. C|X^D
[2016-5-01. : 4:29 pm]
zsnakezz -- if there are programs made specifically for it lol
[2016-5-01. : 4:29 pm]
zsnakezz -- this must be a pretty common issue
[2016-5-01. : 4:29 pm]

[2016-5-01. : 4:28 pm]
zsnakezz -- well i cant finish realm into i figure this out, and if i dont figure it out within the next few days, ill most likely throw my comp out the window
[2016-5-01. : 4:27 pm]
Clokr_ -- Roy
Roy shouted: Do you like a weird version of switch indenting?
Indent once the labels, indent twice the text within the labels. Actually it does have settings to set it that way with C switches, but not with C++ classes and the public, private, protected labels.
[2016-5-01. : 4:27 pm]
Roy -- zsnakezz
zsnakezz shouted: soooo what happens when you get string corruption?
zsnakezz
zsnakezz shouted: annnny sort of common sense fix for that there?
Lots.
[2016-5-01. : 4:27 pm]
zsnakezz -- even tho i have all the people knowledgeable enough to help me right here
[2016-5-01. : 4:27 pm]
zsnakezz -- alright, i guess ill make a thread about the issue
[2016-5-01. : 4:26 pm]
Roy -- But there are likely lots of free options as well.
[2016-5-01. : 4:26 pm]
Roy -- R# has a pretty extensive set of formatting customizations.
[2016-5-01. : 4:25 pm]
Roy -- There are code format extensions for VS that allow for way more customization than is built in.
[2016-5-01. : 4:25 pm]
Roy -- Do you like a weird version of switch indenting?
[2016-5-01. : 4:25 pm]
Clokr_ -- Roy
Roy shouted: Clokr_ That would be indenting by 5, not 3. And IDEs don't make this mistake.
Right, but 5 is as bad. I guess you are right, haven't tried to use a proper IDE with tabs set to spaces. As you said, I'm an amateur programmer.
[2016-5-01. : 4:24 pm]
Clokr_ -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: Why are you indenting manually in 2016?
IDEs are not as flexible as you'd think. I tried to get the C switch indenting the way I like with VStudio and it didn't have the right options.
[2016-5-01. : 4:24 pm]
Roy -- Clokr_
Clokr_ shouted: Roy By pressing tab on a line that already had one space. But again, I don't remember which editor it was but handled tabs terribly (it just placed 4 spaces whenever you hit the key).
That would be indenting by 5, not 3. And IDEs don't make this mistake.
[2016-5-01. : 4:23 pm]
zsnakezz -- annnny sort of common sense fix for that there?
[2016-5-01. : 4:23 pm]
zsnakezz -- soooo what happens when you get string corruption?
[2016-5-01. : 4:22 pm]
Clokr_ -- Roy
Roy shouted: How would you indent something by 3 spaces?
By pressing tab on a line that already had one space. But again, I don't remember which editor it was but handled tabs terribly (it just placed 4 spaces whenever you hit the key).
[2016-5-01. : 4:21 pm]
Roy -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: Why are you indenting manually in 2016?
Typing code outside of an IDE. Another place where spaces excel, interestingly enough.
[2016-5-01. : 4:21 pm]
Roy -- By mistake, rather. Obviously you could set the IDE to use 3 spaces.
[2016-5-01. : 4:21 pm]
Moose -- Why are you indenting manually in 2016?
[2016-5-01. : 4:20 pm]
Roy -- How would you indent something by 3 spaces?
[2016-5-01. : 4:20 pm]
Clokr_ -- The thought of indenting something by 3 spaces by mistake is very disturbing though.
[2016-5-01. : 4:19 pm]
Clokr_ -- Roy
Roy shouted: Can't the IDE recognize a series of four spaces at the beginning of the line and choose how to display that for the user?
I wouldn't mind the IDE internally saving tabs as spaces if it displays them grouped.
[2016-5-01. : 4:19 pm]
Roy -- It's current year, people!
[2016-5-01. : 4:19 pm]
Moose -- Probably, because this is two thousand and sixteen.
[2016-5-01. : 4:18 pm]
Roy -- Can't the IDE recognize a series of four spaces at the beginning of the line and choose how to display that for the user?
[2016-5-01. : 4:18 pm]
Moose -- It's one key on my keyboard.
[2016-5-01. : 4:15 pm]
NudeRaider -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: NudeRaider To navigate between elements of a web page, fields of an input form, etc.
that's the tab key, not the tab stop. though it's similar in function. One time you create tabular text, the other time you navigate between elements (not necessarily columns)
[2016-5-01. : 4:15 pm]
Roy -- In theory, practice and theory are the same. In practice, they are not.
[2016-5-01. : 4:13 pm]
Roy -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Roy tabs were literally invented to jump to a specific point in the line, or multiple points, of a typewriter. What else you gonna use that for, if not to have text start at a specific place?
Heroin was invented to relieve pain as a less addictive alternative to morphine. What else are you going to use that for, if not as a pain killer?
