O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- was your algorithms class a basic one? This is "data structures (stacks, queues, linked lists, heaps, hash tables, trees, graphs); Java Collections framework; algorithmic analysis (Big O, profiling); and common algorithms (recursion, searching, sorting, traversals). "
[2016-7-16. : 9:28 pm]
CecilSunkure -- Or work for a big company like Microsoft
[2016-7-16. : 9:27 pm]
CecilSunkure -- The only reason OOP is good to learn is if you want to get into web dev
[2016-7-16. : 9:27 pm]
Dem0n -- C++ still sux tho LMAO
[2016-7-16. : 9:27 pm]
Dem0n -- u rite LMAO
[2016-7-16. : 9:27 pm]
CecilSunkure -- OOP is garbo useless
[2016-7-16. : 9:27 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- C++ is OOP
[2016-7-16. : 9:27 pm]
Dem0n -- C/C++ fucking sucks
[2016-7-16. : 9:27 pm]
Dem0n -- Why? OOP is good LMAO
[2016-7-16. : 9:27 pm]
CecilSunkure -- Biggest waste of money ever. That's right up there with gender studies.
[2016-7-16. : 9:27 pm]
CecilSunkure -- pls avoid them
[2016-7-16. : 9:27 pm]
CecilSunkure -- if you can avoid OOP classes
[2016-7-16. : 9:26 pm]
CecilSunkure -- oh god no
[2016-7-16. : 9:26 pm]
Dem0n -- Passed with a 43% SMH
[2016-7-16. : 9:26 pm]
Dem0n -- Hopefully the algorithms course at your school isn't sadistic like mine
[2016-7-16. : 9:22 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- this looks like the first one is fundamentals/intro to java (like here is an integer!), 2nd is intro to OOP, then there is a separate data structures and algorithms course
[2016-7-16. : 9:11 pm]
Dem0n -- The second Java course is where you learn how to do all the data structures. You can skip both if you know the stuff, though.l
[2016-7-16. : 9:11 pm]
Dem0n -- It's basically like Java 1 and Java 2, and then you go onto C and shit
[2016-7-16. : 9:11 pm]
Dem0n -- Well at my school, it's the second course
[2016-7-16. : 9:05 pm]
Moose -- Implementing collections is fundamental? O_O
[2016-7-16. : 9:04 pm]
Dem0n -- They're probably gonna ask you to write a linked list or BST implementation or something lmao
[2016-7-16. : 9:01 pm]
CecilSunkure -- you've already made all sorts of cool things and would be better than 100% of the other intro students
[2016-7-16. : 9:00 pm]
CecilSunkure -- yeah try testing out of the BS intro classes
[2016-7-16. : 9:00 pm]
Dem0n -- You can usually test out of the first few courses
[2016-7-16. : 9:00 pm]
CecilSunkure -- you don't need to know java
[2016-7-16. : 8:55 pm]
Moose -- Tell them you know C/C++ and that you're a grown ass adult who don't need no stinkin Java LMAO
[2016-7-16. : 8:54 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- The only issue I foresee is not knowing Java xD
[2016-7-16. : 8:53 pm]
Moose -- Find department chair, be like yo if I can prove I know this shit can I skip it
[2016-7-16. : 8:53 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I was thinking I'll just sign up to save my place and then go there and be like "hey, about this"
[2016-7-16. : 8:52 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I dunno. I don't know how that works
[2016-7-16. : 8:52 pm]
Moose -- Yeah, prereqs are stupid when you know the material already. Would they let you test out of it?
[2016-7-16. : 8:52 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I could use it as an excuse to learn Java I guess, but having used it before it's not all that hard
[2016-7-16. : 8:50 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I don't want to pay lots of money for a nap, tho
[2016-7-16. : 8:49 pm]
Moose -- Sleeper A LMAO
[2016-7-16. : 8:45 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- It's mostly all the intro and fundamentals that I dread because I feel like I have pretty good fundamental understanding and have been at least somewhat introduced to CS and programming :P
[2016-7-16. : 8:44 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Looking at the description of the OOP class, it's all mostly stuff I've already done.
[2016-7-16. : 8:41 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- What I'm dreading is fundamentals of programming :P
[2016-7-16. : 8:41 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- OOP is also a requirement for the EE program, so there's that
[2016-7-16. : 8:40 pm]
jjf28 -- TSM rackin' up the freelo
[2016-7-16. : 8:38 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I don't think that counts :P
[2016-7-16. : 8:38 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I've done some OOP stuff in highschool
[2016-7-16. : 8:37 pm]
jjf28 -- you probably haven't really done OOP (though that's still super boring :P )
[2016-7-16. : 8:34 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- unless there's a way to skip it
[2016-7-16. : 8:34 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- my biggest problem with CS is the first like year or two or whatever are going to be super boring because it's all shit I've done ;o
[2016-7-16. : 8:32 pm]
dumbducky -- I did EE with a CS minor and I can easily work in either field. CS minor was super easy given all the overlap with EE
[2016-7-16. : 8:32 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I mostly just want something that's not boring
[2016-7-16. : 8:31 pm]
Moose -- $tack$ probably still fat AF
[2016-7-16. : 8:31 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- EE is cool because it ties in with CS stuff
[2016-7-16. : 8:30 pm]
Moose -- Yeah, you can do CS if you want. You already write shit in C, so you do that with a CS degree, then $tack$ fat AF ez
[2016-7-16. : 7:25 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I could take some compsci classes, since a bunch can be put towards a CS degree or an EE degree
[2016-7-16. : 7:22 pm]
Moose -- I studied a little bit of ethical hacking. It's pretty fun, as a bonus you get super paranoid LMAO
[2016-7-16. : 7:21 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I could get a certification in ethical hacking
[2016-7-16. : 7:20 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I dunno what classes to take because I'm still not sure about which major xD
[2016-7-16. : 6:52 pm]
Dem0n -- calc 2 fucking sucks so be ready for that LMAO
[2016-7-16. : 6:52 pm]
Moose -- Calc 2 IMO
[2016-7-16. : 6:52 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I'm probably definitely going to take it eventually, I meant more just for next semester
[2016-7-16. : 6:50 pm]
Moose -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: what should I do next? Calc 2?
Yeah, then you can probably do Calc 3 and/or Linear Algebra
[2016-7-16. : 6:49 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: FaRTy1billion it's disgusting imo, but if you're going into a tech field or want to take vectors&matrices it's probably a prerequisite
I've done those a little bit already :P
[2016-7-16. : 6:49 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- :wob:
[2016-7-16. : 6:36 pm]
Moose -- You could, but then you're still starting the map over
[2016-7-16. : 6:34 pm]
jjf28 -- maybe you could loop set next scenario in single player
[2016-7-16. : 6:32 pm]
jjf28 -- idk man, overflows are pretty normal in SC :wob:
[2016-7-16. : 6:20 pm]
Moose -- Yeah, pretty much. You would have to get everything, and there are some things you can't even reset normally, like upgrades or tech research.
[2016-7-16. : 6:10 pm]
Roy -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: You would pretty much have to make triggers for every little detail that would return the map to how it was at the start.
You'd need complete state management. It would be easiest to have 0 preplaced units and generate the starting conditions when the map starts. Then it's just a matter of running those triggers and resetting all your variables. This also means all your triggers must use Preserve Trigger, and you'll need a switch or other method to control execute-once triggers.
[2016-7-16. : 5:52 pm]
CecilSunkure -- lol
[2016-7-16. : 5:52 pm]
CecilSunkure -- It's in there somewhere
[2016-7-16. : 5:52 pm]
Sie_Sayoka -- got it
[2016-7-16. : 5:52 pm]
CecilSunkure -- Its
[2016-7-16. : 5:50 pm]
Sie_Sayoka -- where is the ghost nuke laser sprite in scmdraft?
