[2016-9-13. : 5:36 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- my friend said his last job he didn't get any time off
[2016-9-13. : 5:36 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- nobody's required to give you any
[2016-9-13. : 5:33 am]
NudeRaider -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: Or was it 80 hours a year of vacation. Pretty sure it's 80
It's apparently standard in the US to get just a few days off a year. That seriously would be a deal breaker for me to work in the US. Here it's common to get around 30 days off. Do you never go on holidays? What about Christmas or Easter time? just over the weekend / feast days? Or is it just you have to make a deal with your boss and then can leave, but without pay?
[2016-9-13. : 3:56 am]
Fire_Kame --
[2016-9-13. : 3:54 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- because that would require a bit more effort
[2016-9-13. : 3:52 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Or are you referring to things other than just financially? :P
[2016-9-13. : 3:52 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- ok, I'll marry my roommate
[2016-9-13. : 3:51 am]
Fire_Kame -- There's certain privileges to being married
[2016-9-13. : 3:48 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I'd rather just have a roommate
[2016-9-13. : 3:48 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- my friend recommended getting married for the dual income xD
[2016-9-13. : 3:47 am]
Fire_Kame -- Or getting a better job
[2016-9-13. : 3:47 am]
Fire_Kame -- Actually our combined income could probably swing it but it would mean cutting back on other things
[2016-9-13. : 3:46 am]
Fire_Kame -- If I had enough for a 1500 place I'd put 400 away into savings so I could but a damn house
[2016-9-13. : 3:43 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- ... other than the air
[2016-9-13. : 3:43 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- SLC is actually pretty nice
[2016-9-13. : 3:42 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- if I made money then I would be ok with that, the stuff in that price range here is awesome
[2016-9-13. : 3:41 am]
Dem0n -- Gotta make money first tho LMAO
[2016-9-13. : 3:40 am]
Dem0n -- I'd gladly pay $1500/month for a nice apartment in a nice city
[2016-9-13. : 3:37 am]
Fire_Kame -- do you
[2016-9-13. : 3:37 am]
Fire_Kame -- do you know how many virgins I've had to sacrifice
[2016-9-13. : 3:37 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- there are cheaper and more expensive, but they are not where you want to live. :P
[2016-9-13. : 3:37 am]
Fire_Kame -- rent is 1040 for a one room, and actually we're on the lower side which is fucking terrifying
[2016-9-13. : 3:36 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- cost of living here varies a lot, which is nice. I could get a decent 2 bedroom apartment or something near my work for like $600 or so a month or near my house for like $1.3k a month
[2016-9-13. : 3:36 am]
Fire_Kame -- anywho bed time
[2016-9-13. : 3:35 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- o.
[2016-9-13. : 3:34 am]
Fire_Kame -- possibly has to do with the weed thing
[2016-9-13. : 3:34 am]
Fire_Kame -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: what do you get now?
16.50... :\ cost of living is high here bruh
[2016-9-13. : 3:32 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- so there are opportunities that way
[2016-9-13. : 3:32 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Fire_Kame
Fire_Kame shouted: but I don't want to take phone calls for my life!
I figure if I finish school or whatever I'll move on to something more relevant to that. A lot of the higher-ups or people in other departments (R&D, etc.) started at my position but just stayed within the company
[2016-9-13. : 3:31 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- what do you get now?
[2016-9-13. : 3:29 am]
Fire_Kame -- besides cannot afford 11/hr
[2016-9-13. : 3:29 am]
Fire_Kame -- but I don't want to take phone calls for my life!
[2016-9-13. : 3:27 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- that appears to be the only CO one we have. There are a bunch in AZ though :P
[2016-9-13. : 3:25 am]
Fire_Kame -- /sigh
[2016-9-13. : 3:25 am]
Fire_Kame -- yeahhh
[2016-9-13. : 3:25 am]
Fire_Kame -- yeaaahhh
[2016-9-13. : 3:24 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- o, that's no good
[2016-9-13. : 3:24 am]
Fire_Kame -- just about
[2016-9-13. : 3:24 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- are you in denver?
[2016-9-13. : 3:24 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- my job gives referral bonuses, but I don't know if that counts if it's in a different center
[2016-9-13. : 3:24 am]
Fire_Kame -- yeah colo springs is 70 miles from denver
[2016-9-13. : 3:23 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- no, I don't know anybody in colorado. I've known people from there or that have moved there, but I don't have any contact with them
[2016-9-13. : 3:23 am]
Fire_Kame -- full disclosure though cost of living sucks in colorado. Isn't your sister out here or something?
[2016-9-13. : 3:23 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I don't actually know whereabouts you live or even where the center is, I just remember you saying it was too far away
[2016-9-13. : 3:23 am]
Fire_Kame -- though if you ever want a job I think I get a bonus if I refer someone with service center experience :awesome:
[2016-9-13. : 3:21 am]
Fire_Kame -- at least you're helping people. I'm basically the man
[2016-9-13. : 3:21 am]
Fire_Kame -- omfg I'd love that
[2016-9-13. : 3:20 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Kame, live closer to wherever our center in colorado springs location is so we can hang out on IM at work
[2016-9-13. : 3:20 am]
Fire_Kame -- I wonder if I would've liked it better someplace like that. Granted it's easier to recover from a shitty call if you have five half decent ones instantly after
[2016-9-13. : 3:19 am]
Fire_Kame -- one of my coworkers used to do insurance billing, she said it was a call every 45 minutes maybe
[2016-9-13. : 3:18 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I don't actually talk to anybody, so I can just tune them out :wob:
[2016-9-13. : 3:18 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Because of what we do we can't ever go in to queue, so we always have some idle time ... at worst it's a few seconds, but that's extremely rare
[2016-9-13. : 3:18 am]
Fire_Kame -- before I lose my gd mind
[2016-9-13. : 3:18 am]
Fire_Kame -- anyway would super love to leave customer service altogether
[2016-9-13. : 3:17 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Fire_Kame
Fire_Kame shouted: then they made a change to a product and it was like balls deep in queues. Through luck I moved departments so I just observed the call center slowly lose their minds
XD My friend had a job like that, he switched to the higher tier where he just tells people what to say to their customers
[2016-9-13. : 3:16 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- that's sort of how it's been during the day (why they're getting people to take OT)
[2016-9-13. : 3:16 am]
Fire_Kame -- then they made a change to a product and it was like balls deep in queues. Through luck I moved departments so I just observed the call center slowly lose their minds
[2016-9-13. : 3:16 am]
Fire_Kame -- my handle time target was 4 minutes, but what sucked was that it was one right after another for your full shift
[2016-9-13. : 3:15 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I covered my friend's shift once that was just till midnight, and in the last 2 hours I was there I only had like 4 <5 minute calls
[2016-9-13. : 3:14 am]
Fire_Kame -- Well except berkley works days sooooo that would super suck
[2016-9-13. : 3:14 am]
Fire_Kame -- if I didn't want to kill myself when I was on the phones that's the shift I wanted too.
[2016-9-13. : 3:14 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I wanna work graves, that's so cool at my job because there are very few calls and the place is empty so there aren't any loud people
[2016-9-13. : 3:13 am]
Fire_Kame -- soz missed it
[2016-9-13. : 3:13 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- ya. it's like +10% for nights and weekends (Sunday :wob:) , +20% for graves or something
[2016-9-13. : 3:13 am]
Moose -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: I think it's time and a half for me. Holidays is that, and weekends and nights is +10%
Yes
[2016-9-13. : 3:12 am]
Fire_Kame -- yea
[2016-9-13. : 3:12 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- like night/weekend pay?
[2016-9-13. : 3:12 am]
Fire_Kame -- do you get shift differential pay?
[2016-9-13. : 3:12 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- FT is definitely worth the $.50 less per hour, except I apparently get $.25 of that back :wob:
[2016-9-13. : 3:11 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- worked FT *
