[2016-12-30. : 9:16 am]
IskatuMesk -- The first compressor basically drops peaks and boosts low levels and thickens the midrange centralized on my voice frequencies, which gives my voice a dominating presence over most game audio (which is typically very low). Fraps audio is mixed, so the compressor has to distort the game as little as possible while making my voice as equalized as possible, a tough task given my constant yelling and swearing
[2016-12-30. : 9:14 am]
IskatuMesk -- Fixing the displaced portions -> us amplify-fade with the centralize or whatever it's called at 1%. The rest is handled via my two compressors (one is a very aggressive balancing setup, the other is a sibilant killer)
[2016-12-30. : 9:13 am]
TF- -- how do you fix the clipped parts anyway, normalize/average volume functions?
[2016-12-30. : 9:11 am]
IskatuMesk -- aha, I figured out how to translate waveforms in audition. Now I can fix dumb shit like this https://i.imgur.com/MH6Atkj.png
[2016-12-30. : 8:54 am]
IskatuMesk -- one of the ones for sc2
[2016-12-30. : 8:54 am]
IskatuMesk -- not my campaign though
[2016-12-30. : 8:54 am]
TF- -- a campaign? sounds intriguing
[2016-12-30. : 8:52 am]
IskatuMesk -- the video audio compressor is something I've spent 5 years perfecting... losing that alone would have been disasterous
[2016-12-30. : 8:52 am]
Sie_Sayoka -- farty you have a machine translator for korean maps right?
[2016-12-30. : 8:51 am]
IskatuMesk -- just voice work for a campaign and audio for my videos
[2016-12-30. : 8:50 am]
TF- -- good job, what are you working on anyway
[2016-12-30. : 8:50 am]
IskatuMesk -- basicxally a feature I've never needed to use before but glad I had on
[2016-12-30. : 8:50 am]
IskatuMesk -- disk space is pretty trivial for me, and it saved me a show ending disaster, so I am thankful
[2016-12-30. : 8:44 am]
TF- -- IskatuMesk
IskatuMesk shouted: system restore saves the day
that's a good feature but my disk space kinda keeps me from using it, on the other hand the disk space is the only thing that's kept me safe from windows 10
[2016-12-30. : 8:38 am]
IskatuMesk -- what's Netflix?
[2016-12-30. : 8:38 am]
IskatuMesk -- Orifice Antagonist?
[2016-12-30. : 8:37 am]
Apos -- Completely unexpected
[2016-12-30. : 8:37 am]
Apos -- Okay... I'm watching the new Netflix show "The OA" and it's like really fucking good
[2016-12-30. : 8:31 am]
IskatuMesk -- all I have to redo is reinstall substance designer
[2016-12-30. : 8:31 am]
IskatuMesk -- system restore saves the day
[2016-12-30. : 7:59 am]
LoveLess -- which made it worth every penny
[2016-12-30. : 7:58 am]
LoveLess -- eh I just bought bytes and ccleaner, used them for enough years, ccleaner I just have auto-run certain features every so often
[2016-12-30. : 7:52 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- o that's something I haven't installed. except I never remember to use it anyway xD
[2016-12-30. : 7:52 am]
LoveLess -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: FaRTy1billion Avast, LibreOffice, ACDSee, FoxitReader, Treesize, Fraps, ArtMoney, Blue Stacks, [whatever you use for programming], Notepad++, DosBox, VLC Player, [Torrent/Usenet Tools], Photoshop, [Font backups], Ashampoo Burning Studio Elements, Daemon Tools, [whatever you use for Voice Chat], Malwarebyte's AntiMalware
LoveLess
LoveLess shouted: FaRTy1billion no ccleaner?
[2016-12-30. : 7:52 am]
LoveLess -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: I dunno what half those things are
no ccleaner?
[2016-12-30. : 7:51 am]
Pr0nogo -- whisper me your account
[2016-12-30. : 7:51 am]
TF- -- yeah I got it
[2016-12-30. : 7:51 am]
Pr0nogo -- you have discord?
[2016-12-30. : 7:50 am]
TF- -- yeah it could be funny, i can tip you off on stupid shit to do
[2016-12-30. : 7:47 am]
Pr0nogo -- sounds like a game i ought to play
[2016-12-30. : 7:46 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- ya, WinCDEmu is basically how windows10 does it ... right click ISO and mount. There is a tiny window that pops up to select drive letter and some settings, but still very small
[2016-12-30. : 7:45 am]
TF- -- there were some graphical glitches too
[2016-12-30. : 7:45 am]
TF- -- i don't think it's worse except performance-wise maybe?
[2016-12-30. : 7:45 am]
TF- -- and the remaster guys, for some reason, decided this was too hard for the casuals, and made the torch lit and door open by default
[2016-12-30. : 7:45 am]
NudeRaider -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: NudeRaider i.e., shareware :P
Anyways, the point is they are free to use indefinitely. Unlike WinRAR, which you CAN use but are not allowed to.
[2016-12-30. : 7:45 am]
Pr0nogo -- that is the important question
[2016-12-30. : 7:45 am]
Pr0nogo -- but is it worse
[2016-12-30. : 7:45 am]
TF- -- also some dumb changes, like there was a secret where you had to light a torch to open a door, as a puzzle
[2016-12-30. : 7:44 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- the program on my old laptop seems to be "WinCDEmu"
[2016-12-30. : 7:44 am]
TF- -- it's the exact same thing, with most of the same bugs and everything
[2016-12-30. : 7:43 am]
Pr0nogo -- probably gonna do a let's play
[2016-12-30. : 7:43 am]
Pr0nogo -- hey TF is bioshock remastered any different than the original beyond its graphics
[2016-12-30. : 7:43 am]
NudeRaider -- and yes, simply for image mounting it's become bloated. Open for sleeker recommendations.
[2016-12-30. : 7:42 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: FaRTy1billion DT light was always free as far as I can remember. There's a pro version with more features that I don't need, which is true for a lot of programs on the list.
i.e., shareware :P
[2016-12-30. : 7:42 am]
NudeRaider -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: did they change it then? it's still huge and bulky
DT light was always free as far as I can remember. There's a pro version with more features that I don't need, which is true for a lot of programs on the list.
[2016-12-30. : 7:42 am]
Pr0nogo -- IskatuMesk
IskatuMesk shouted: Audition appears to have nuked all of my presets... destroying 15 years of work including my perfected video compressor settings, the painstakingly tweaked autotune profiles, ancient flanges and such from my golden era... everything is gone
time to go back to writing?
[2016-12-30. : 7:41 am]
NudeRaider -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: FaRTy1billion the way it organizes the window and how it lets me configure sizes, filter by exif or other meta data, file compare, batch rename...
and I like the editing tools. Heighten shadows with a few clicks, no need to open the file elsewhere.
[2016-12-30. : 7:41 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I forgot what I had before instead to mount ISOs
[2016-12-30. : 7:41 am]
IskatuMesk -- Audition appears to have nuked all of my presets... destroying 15 years of work including my perfected video compressor settings, the painstakingly tweaked autotune profiles, ancient flanges and such from my golden era... everything is gone
[2016-12-30. : 7:40 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- did they change it then? it's still huge and bulky
[2016-12-30. : 7:40 am]
NudeRaider -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: NudeRaider except FaRTy1billion
I read that. But you brought DT up and claimed it was shareware, which it isnt.
[2016-12-30. : 7:39 am]
Pr0nogo -- TF-
TF- shouted: literally just read a text file and set some death counters
yeah pretty much, wouldn't be hard at all with a plugin + triggers
[2016-12-30. : 7:39 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Win10 has built in right click & mount ISOs :P
[2016-12-30. : 7:39 am]
NudeRaider -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: how does ACDSee organize files?
the way it organizes the window and how it lets me configure sizes, filter by exif or other meta data, file compare, batch rename...
[2016-12-30. : 7:38 am]
Pr0nogo -- you're also probably better off with a third party file explorer
[2016-12-30. : 7:38 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: FaRTy1billion oh artmoney isn't free? My bad then. But DaemonTools light is.
except FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: also daemon tools is entirely unnecessary in Win10
[2016-12-30. : 7:38 am]
TF- -- literally just read a text file and set some death counters
[2016-12-30. : 7:38 am]
NudeRaider -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: at least artmoney and daemon tools is shareware
oh artmoney isn't free? My bad then. But DaemonTools light is.
[2016-12-30. : 7:38 am]
TF- -- Pr0nogo
Pr0nogo shouted: TF- when biophysicist was still around he said he'd write me a plugin that loaded data from a text file to influence variables, basically like a bank file in wc3/sc2
yeah I remember something like that, I always thought it would be really easy to do for people who can hack the game
[2016-12-30. : 7:38 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- how does ACDSee organize files?
[2016-12-30. : 7:37 am]
NudeRaider -- and I've found nothing that comes close to ACDSee. I find IrfanView clumsy and lacking for organizing files.
[2016-12-30. : 7:37 am]
Pr0nogo -- TF-
TF- shouted: re:campaigns, i really wanted to go full retard with a campaign that uses Set Next Scenario to give you branching choices, so there's like 50 map files for just 5 missions because of all the cascading choices you can make to influence the story. doubt it will happen though
when biophysicist was still around he said he'd write me a plugin that loaded data from a text file to influence variables, basically like a bank file in wc3/sc2
[2016-12-30. : 7:37 am]
TF- -- i guess you can't get CS2 for free anymore
[2016-12-30. : 7:37 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- at least artmoney and daemon tools is shareware
[2016-12-30. : 7:37 am]
NudeRaider -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: so much of that shit you listed is shareware :x
not at all. The only one's you can't use freely are ACDSee and Photoshop and you can easily replace that with GIMP if you're willing to learn the interface.
[2016-12-30. : 7:36 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- or, in the case of photostop, likely pirated
[2016-12-30. : 7:36 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: FaRTy1billion Well if it's free there's no point in not using it ofc. However I favor open source in general. Proprietary bs making shit harder than it needs to be.
yet half the stuff you listed is shareware :P
[2016-12-30. : 7:36 am]
TF- -- but you literally need to create like 5 separate new entities and fuck around for 10 minutes to make use of that feature
[2016-12-30. : 7:36 am]
TF- -- when they have all these tools like Texture Select By Id to change textures dynamically ingame
[2016-12-30. : 7:35 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- TF-
TF- shouted: it's amazing that binary editing texture names was still the best solution with sc2 models for quickly changing textures
xD
