Sand Wraith -- IskatuMesk
IskatuMesk shouted: my 26 twitter followers are gonna love this burst of twitter activity in the form of gay porn videos
I guess your followers are really into gay porn videos!
[2016-12-30. : 12:58 pm]
NudeRaider -- IskatuMesk
IskatuMesk shouted: A.) why would I sell something canon to my writing B.) what makes you think some pos without uvs/textures would sell for anything C.) what makes you think I can model a high enough detail for commercial quality looooool
IskatuMesk
IskatuMesk shouted: I can't even sculpt LMAO smh
translation: too depressed to be bothered. (which is fine) but also not realizing the necessity/unwilling for change. If someone doesn't WANT to their situation improved there's nothing you can do.
[2016-12-30. : 12:19 pm]
IskatuMesk -- When someone cuts out in vent it seems to corrupt the fraps stream somehow. That's really the only thing I know

NudeRaider -- IskatuMesk
IskatuMesk shouted: aha, I figured out how to translate waveforms in audition. Now I can fix dumb shit like this https://i.imgur.com/MH6Atkj.png
O.o how does that even happen? I mean I can understand a uniform offset, but one that changes it's amplitude AND polarity AND normalizes IN THE SAME AUDIO? How does that happen unless you're deliberately trolling your own recording?

[2016-12-30. : 10:47 am]
IskatuMesk -- also fuck dealing with taxes and losing my disability
[2016-12-30. : 10:46 am]
IskatuMesk -- my original goal was actually to put some foley libraries on the ue4 marketplace buuut I never finished recording them much less processed them... doubt I will get around to it at this point
[2016-12-30. : 10:45 am]
IskatuMesk -- maybe in a few years if I can learn substance applications I can put two and two together
[2016-12-30. : 10:44 am]
IskatuMesk -- but unless you can sculpt today... well, not gonna work out I am afraid, since everyone buys sculpted assets off of unity/unreal marketplaces now
[2016-12-30. : 10:44 am]
IskatuMesk -- I've seen what people have attempted to sell, yes
[2016-12-30. : 10:22 am]
Corbo -- Not saying your modeling is shit, we know it is not so stop actijg like so, but if you really wanted to you could seĺl the geometry for some stuff and very easily profit from it. Trust me. I have sold intentionally shitty stuff on TS
[2016-12-30. : 10:20 am]
Corbo -- Have you SEEN the kind of shit people sell on turbosquid?
[2016-12-30. : 10:13 am]
IskatuMesk -- I can't even sculpt LMAO smh
[2016-12-30. : 10:12 am]
IskatuMesk -- A.) why would I sell something canon to my writing B.) what makes you think some pos without uvs/textures would sell for anything C.) what makes you think I can model a high enough detail for commercial quality looooool
[2016-12-30. : 9:37 am]
Pr0nogo -- mesk why haven't you sold your models on turbosquid or some shit, you could feasibly pay for anything you really need with enough sales on that site from the model prices/qualities i've seen
[2016-12-30. : 9:37 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- no
[2016-12-30. : 9:37 am]
Pr0nogo -- i'll take the instruments too
[2016-12-30. : 9:36 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I have it hooked up to all the music instruments
[2016-12-30. : 9:35 am]
Pr0nogo -- good thing neither of them are me
[2016-12-30. : 9:35 am]
Pr0nogo -- this chinawoman keeps calling me patrick, but my amazon account says my name is mark
[2016-12-30. : 9:35 am]
Pr0nogo -- i'll take it
[2016-12-30. : 9:35 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- it has phantom power, but I don't have anything that uses it
[2016-12-30. : 9:34 am]
Pr0nogo -- lol a 2 channel is like 100-200 usd
[2016-12-30. : 9:34 am]
IskatuMesk -- that shit is ludicrously pricey
[2016-12-30. : 9:34 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I have a 16 channel analog mixer my uncle gave me
[2016-12-30. : 9:33 am]
IskatuMesk -- I really want to play around with an XLR setup. Hardware compression would be a godsend
[2016-12-30. : 9:32 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- IskatuMesk
IskatuMesk shouted: unlikely, if it's XLR you need phantom power
I have gear for that :wob:
[2016-12-30. : 9:29 am]
IskatuMesk -- but I think there are major advantages to analog signals like it's less easy to clip stuff and you can do things to the signal you can't normally do with usb
[2016-12-30. : 9:28 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Sie_Sayoka
Sie_Sayoka shouted: farty you have a machine translator for korean maps right?
i have this http://farty1billion.dyndns.org/encconv.php
[2016-12-30. : 9:28 am]
IskatuMesk -- at least until it comes to musical instruments
[2016-12-30. : 9:28 am]
IskatuMesk -- depends, I am not familiar with it so I can't say, but I can tell you a yeti or AT2020 can easily give you quality a ten thousand dollar mic can if your environment is tailored well enough
[2016-12-30. : 9:27 am]
Pr0nogo -- doesn't seem like it'd be worth paying double a mic's cost
[2016-12-30. : 9:27 am]
Pr0nogo -- does it actually yield better results
[2016-12-30. : 9:26 am]
IskatuMesk -- that's why I stuck to USB, front-ends are too pricey for me to consider
[2016-12-30. : 9:26 am]
Pr0nogo -- yeah it is
[2016-12-30. : 9:26 am]
Pr0nogo -- yeah i use gain control all the timeg
[2016-12-30. : 9:26 am]
IskatuMesk -- unlikely, if it's XLR you need phantom power
[2016-12-30. : 9:26 am]
Pr0nogo -- doesn't that just mean sound card
[2016-12-30. : 9:25 am]
IskatuMesk -- the frequency response is better, the ambient noise pickup is significantly less, it's smaller. But the gain control on the yeti is insanely useful
[2016-12-30. : 9:25 am]
Pr0nogo -- oh apparently this needs an audio interface
[2016-12-30. : 9:25 am]
IskatuMesk -- I think the AT2020 edges a bit ahead though
[2016-12-30. : 9:24 am]
IskatuMesk -- they are bassically the top rated usb mics I have found
[2016-12-30. : 9:24 am]
IskatuMesk -- yep
[2016-12-30. : 9:24 am]
Pr0nogo -- oh so that means it's 50 usd
[2016-12-30. : 9:24 am]
IskatuMesk -- both that and the yeti are in the $200 cad range
[2016-12-30. : 9:24 am]
IskatuMesk -- yeah I dunno anything about those, I am using the AT2020 atm
[2016-12-30. : 9:23 am]
Pr0nogo -- i got this
[2016-12-30. : 9:23 am]
IskatuMesk -- you are thinking of dynamics - they have very limited response range
[2016-12-30. : 9:22 am]
IskatuMesk -- condensers are extremely sensitive mics
[2016-12-30. : 9:22 am]
Pr0nogo -- it doesn't sound like it condenses shit to me
[2016-12-30. : 9:22 am]
IskatuMesk -- the yeti is a condensor
[2016-12-30. : 9:21 am]
Pr0nogo -- i ordered a condenser mic recently, would you say you prefer the yeti or a condenser for casting or voice acting, or is one head and shoulders above the other
[2016-12-30. : 9:21 am]
IskatuMesk -- yes
[2016-12-30. : 9:21 am]
Pr0nogo -- so 'portions of my voice that become an issue at high volume' are sibilants in this case
[2016-12-30. : 9:21 am]
IskatuMesk -- it's just to cut some of the edge that this mic produces when hit with that first compressor
[2016-12-30. : 9:20 am]
IskatuMesk -- the multiband compressor is exclusively for sibilants
[2016-12-30. : 9:20 am]
IskatuMesk -- the dynamics processing already handles that
[2016-12-30. : 9:20 am]
Pr0nogo -- but that's just for s sounds i thought, do you have another preset for peak compression
[2016-12-30. : 9:20 am]
Pr0nogo -- yeah i have your preset for that already
[2016-12-30. : 9:20 am]
IskatuMesk -- it's a multiband compressor
[2016-12-30. : 9:19 am]
IskatuMesk -- nope, I use izone izotope 4 for the sibilant
[2016-12-30. : 9:19 am]
Pr0nogo -- i never researched this
[2016-12-30. : 9:19 am]
Pr0nogo -- or is that level detector
[2016-12-30. : 9:19 am]
Pr0nogo -- and you use the band limiting for sibilant killers and such
[2016-12-30. : 9:19 am]
IskatuMesk -- yup
[2016-12-30. : 9:18 am]
Pr0nogo -- by compressor you mean dynamics processing or
[2016-12-30. : 9:18 am]
IskatuMesk -- most compressors hand you a mass of static or can't dull it out enough, but audition's stock compressor seems to be really good
[2016-12-30. : 9:18 am]
IskatuMesk -- the absolute worst of clipping I get is easily handled by the compressor. The most you end up with is a little distortion
[2016-12-30. : 9:17 am]
IskatuMesk -- the sibilant killer is designed only to hit high levels of volume, so it never touches the game audio, only portions of my voice that become an issue at high volume
[2016-12-30. : 9:16 am]
IskatuMesk -- The first compressor basically drops peaks and boosts low levels and thickens the midrange centralized on my voice frequencies, which gives my voice a dominating presence over most game audio (which is typically very low). Fraps audio is mixed, so the compressor has to distort the game as little as possible while making my voice as equalized as possible, a tough task given my constant yelling and swearing
