(No reason for smilie, just like how it looks.)
Hey, I'm confused about a certain Disabling project I'm doing. I read the wiki, and I read the reference/glossary.

One Wiki says that Science Vessels + Dropships Crash the game when disabled.
One Reference / Glossary Entry says that They can Cloak and be unseen without crashing the game, provided that they aren't affected/moved.

I made several test maps, but never really tried to disable something before, and I ended up with crashing Vessels and Dropshits.
I was hoping that I did it incorrectly somehow, and that you CAN Disable + Enable * 2 for these units, making them cloaked.

Help?

Some units cannot be cloaked. Disabling them will result in crashing, but that is if you see them on your screen. You can disable them and hide them somewhere, but I see no point of it. Go see the references again to see which crashes.
There are the only ones that won't crash you. To answer your question, it is impossible to cloak those units by disabling.

Ah crap, I think i just put a minus on that last post when I was trying to collapse box... I dont know what it did, but I see a -1 on it... Uht ohz. Can i undo this??

Anyways, Am i to assume that this chart is not trustworthy?

It states that Science vessels are cloakable, some how.

EDIT:
Ok, nevermind, I got it. You CAN Disable the vessels, so long as they cloak BEFORE you see them

It's often a good idea to try disabling the unit with no vision of it at all, as often the initial disabling causes a crash when seen, even on the minimap.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
