We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Personally I always stayed away from including extensive sounds or music into maps. The options are too limited, even if you got the campaign content to work I'd still consider it pretty limited. And adding a lot of or large custom sound just isn't feasible over the old b.net.

That being said there seems to be no easy way (if any) to achieve what you want. So I wish you good luck and endurance, if you're willing regardless.

Your saying its impossible to import the sound from the MPQ files to the map?
SCMD2 can do this and I know SCFreesounds does this...
so I'm confused

I'm really the wrong person to ask. I'm sure you can do it with modding means, but I have no idea if there are tricks that make it possible with mapping only. You seem to know more than I do. ;)

I was positive the SCMD2 could add via string editor, I just was having problems making ti work properly.

Cartography Artisan

If you have no luck with SCMDraft you can type in the string of the WAV you want directly in CHKDraft's trigger editor.

This isn't a release version (I'm still finishing some of the trigger action suggestions/default values) but it should suit your needs: [REDACTED]

Select some part of the action that plays the WAV, then click 'Edit WAV' and type in the name you want (obv. the string input needs preview and character code listings, but I haven't gotten to that yet).

Note that since CHKDraft accepts all C++ Escape Sequences which start with a backslash ( "\" ) to input a backslash you should put two ( "\\" ).

The codeline just filled in the line with no "\" and when I opened the string in any other editor it crashed the file. SCMD2 doesn't even want to open the map now...lol

Doesn't anyone know how to import sound files using MPQ data instead of s a sound editor?

Oh_Man -- yea APM vs eAPM

NimoStar -- plus most of the human APM is just spam clicking APM inflation

NimoStar -- the thing with the "*12" thing is completely misleading. The AI isn't using two control groups, it can use each of those actions to command a single unit individually and issue different commands to each single unit.

NudeRaider shouted: Oh_Man Artosis hasn't caught on how devastating the perfect focus fire is. With the mutas he was like "the Mutas always seem to have less hp than against a human". But he didn't notice that the flock he had selected always just had one muta that was hurt. Same with the wraiths here. He's talking about how valks+wraith is gonna destroy Pluto's valks, then 5s later he's dumbfounded the human player's air is just gone and he never figured out why. And for some reason didn't even think to go back and look at the battle.
