An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

No, I just follow verbal queues.

Making the torch is gonna take up this turn and next, by the way.

It's gas, and no duh. :P

I hope the mansion doesn't have a fire system. I don't want the sprinklers on me. I'm trying to reduce the smoke from the torch, but no guarantees.

Six actions? Can't you compress them somehow?

Roy, check the spambox.

EDIT:
I'm at the lobby.

Quote
You sprint east and then south. Everything in the lobby is as you remember it, with arkla and Vi3t-X still standing here as well, with zone out expressions on their faces.

You think back to when you met the owner. You were with your accountant at his office, going over some numbers with your finances, and this man arrived to speak with him. Your accountant introduced the two of you to one another before they left briefly to an adjacent room. They returned after a moment, and as he was leaving, the owner asked the accountant whether or not he could come for the weekend. The accountant said he was unfortunately too busy, at which point the owner mentioned that it would be fine for him to stop by for a few hours rather than the whole weekend. The accountant again declined. The owner then turned to you, and made you the same offer. You were surprised to say the least, but decided to accept.

You remember that before the murder, many of the guests had gone upstairs, either to go to their rooms or to use the bathroom. You think that perhaps all of them did, at one point or another. The one person you're certain about is yourself, as you were sharing a guest bedroom with another person upstairs.

You look at the knife, and see that it appears to be very generic in nature. The handle of the knife is made of wood, and the blade has no serrations. It doesn't look particularly familiar to you. Turning your eyes to the owner, his facial expression is calm and emotionless. The pool of blood seems to indicate the corpse has not been moved. Everything is how you remember it.

Continuing your examination of the room, you check the staircase and verify it is a very standard staircase that leads directly to the second floor landing.
Apparently, we were supposed to stay for the weekend, and I shared a bedroom with someone. NO HOMO. The owner's body hasn't been moved and the inactives are, well, inactive. The staircase in the lobby is not a spiral staircase and does not lead to the third floor.

Aristocrats gun has smokeless powder even if the chambers are empty it still could have smokeless gun powder residue assuming it has been used and is not from before 1890's when the first mass produced smokeless guns were beings made with a the new material discovered earlier combined with nitroglycerin

Actions will be due in 36 hours from now, the offset is so they'll be in the afternoon time slot again.

Info on rags gathered so far
-Dried before turn 3
-No blood under rags or in immediate area meaning it must have been dried then moved
-It was found in the room of "Zilean" and "Ezterix"

My guess is that it could be totally innocent such as a nose bleed but it could be something more
Did you think to check the "rags" themselves for holes or cuts of any kind? Because it's likely that's what I'm going to do next turn, if you've left them in the hallway like you said (and if I can get some light out here plz).

Also, if Aristo lets you with the lights, I guess you can continue exploring that area. Note that there's a good chance I'll be coming to join you soon, also.

When are you guys going to grow some testicles and apprehend that arrogant nuisance and restore power? Unless you want him to cause a short circuit and set the whole house to a blazing inferno in otherwise a pitch dark night. We'd probably all burn to death within the fences because we don't know how to jump a motionless fence.

I guess then it fits that the owner was just plain lonely. Now why he might have been discussing matters with an accountant on that day...

I'll have to recall then if I did, and where I went. Try to see if you can remember which bedroom, and who it was with. This could be extremely important!

Calm and emotionless. Creepy.

Maybe he was expecting it...?

u mad?

Also, I might be heading your way. I've no intent to attack you, but since a man holding a thrice-bloodstained knife looks threatening, I ask that you be careful with any conditions you write that relate to danger, threats, risk, etc..

Maybe he wanted it to happen? He invited all of us to this house, and one of us is the murderer. He was seeing his accountant -- getting his affairs in order, I'll bet. Perhaps he wanted to die?

Everybody, try to remember how you came to be here, if and when you went upstairs, and where specifically you went. The more pieces of the puzzle we can get, the better.

If we all went upstairs together at any point, it's likely more than Ezterix and Zilean were in that one bedroom together. 4(?) bedrooms between 15 people, and all that.

I suspect the killer was one of the first to have arrived here, also. If we can find another body somewhere, that ought to confirm this.

We should also try to recall the order everyone showed up, as well. Damn me for not thinking to do this first thing. :><:

P.S. There's a good chance I'm going to need that flour after all, by the way. ;)

Ez, Zil, use a recollection action. Were one of you injured? Did you treat somebody that was injured?

Aug 23 2010, 4:38 am EzTerix Post #956

here is my vague recollection from last turn
Quote

You think back to when you were invited to stay here by the owner. He was a man you barely knew, aside from talk that he was somewhat wealthy. When he approached you, asking if you would attend a get-together at his place for the weekend, you were fairly surprised. However, upon arriving and mingling with the other guests, you got the distinct impression that he had invited many of the people the same way. No one seemed to be particularly close to him, or even know him that well.

and if I have a spare action then I might do that cobb.

None.

Aug 23 2010, 4:50 am The Starport Post #957

ATTN!
(for all you damn tl;drs out there)

Here's I think the recollections everyone ought to do, in order of precedence:
  1. Who was already here when you arrived, and who showed up after. I'm pretty sure this is our biggest lead. - On second thought, maybe not, but we're still going to need a timeline, so do it anyway. There may be other reasons it'll be important.
  2. Where you have been in the house since arrival, with whom, and when. Before the murder, of course. But feel free to tell us where after, too. ;)
  3. How you came to know the owner and why you might think anyone would want to kill him.
  4. Any recollections about details about your circumstances in meeting the owner that differ from mine and Ezterix's.

I don't think the third one is necessary because most of us or even all of us will get "he was a man you barely knew" crap. "you got the distinct impression that he had invited many of the people in the same way"

None.

Aug 23 2010, 4:56 am The Starport Post #959

No, it is very necessary. Unless David is lying to us (or you are, for that matter), then you'll notice that he got a different recollection story, as you saw.
