Why the hell are ID's so important? The killer is either really stupid and clumsy or was dumb enough to put 2 ID's on the floor instead of one to frame. Honestly imo it makes no sense. It's not even working as a frame because there are not two killers.
Also if my recollection tells something about a nose bleed then me and Zilean are cleared of this bs.

and give me my ID back, it's personal property :P

Hmmm.

What I sent in for turn 1: (copy-paste too lazy to reformat it, but w/e.)
Quote
Do I have a starting inventory?

Action 1:
I look around the room and take note of the details of each guest and their appearance, actions, taking special care to note any bloodstains, nervous appearances, physical fatigue, hands hidden behind backs, missing pieces of clothing, trenchcoats and other pieces of clothing that may serve to conceal a weapon, as well as remembering the order in which they entered the current room; while looking around take note of all the furniture in this room as well as any containers/alcoves in which items could be hidden.

Action 2:
Path 1: If the knife has not yet been retrieved, I retrieve it by the guard, taking special care to avoid touching the hilt in the process and announce to the guests who are still paying attention: "I will be saving this for evidence as I can see what seems to be outlines of fingerprints on the hilt, making it easy to identify the killer later on." While retrieving the knife take note of the characteristics of the dead body: whether something seems to be missing, if the murder appears to be a struggle or a one-hit kill, and note whether or not fingerprints were actually left on the hilt despite what I just said. If not, remain silent and pretend that I did actually found fingerprints on it as to not contradict myself. Announce to the crowd "Even though Roy was the first person in the room, do not place all suspicion on him because it is possible that the killer left the room then re-entered later on to frame the first person who showed up; be careful."

Furthermore, append the statements "I have substantial detective experience" if any suspicion is aroused, and provide the advice "Stay together so the killer cannot isolate small groups of us and take down people without others finding out". Yell at people who try to touch the body and dissuade them from doing so.

Path 2: If someone else has retrieved the knife already, take a note of who it is, then ask them to hand it over, using the statements "I am a detective, please hand over the murder weapon and stop contaminating the evidence". If any suspicion is aroused, repeat the statement in a stern manner and approach him slowly, asking the question "why are you interested in holding onto the murder weapon and smudging out the fingerprints?".

Path 2.1: If he complies, stare at him after he hands it over, tell him "don't do that again, this is a goddamn murder scene so stay off the body". Yell at other people who try to touch the body and dissuade them from doing so. Get the crowd's attention, then announce to the crowd: "Even though Roy was the first person in the room, do not place all suspicion on him because it is possible that the killer left the room then re-entered later on to frame the first person who showed up; be careful."

Path 2.2: If he does not comply, stare at him, tell him "this is a goddamn murder scene, why the hell are you taking the murder weapon with you?" Assert that he is not a detective if he has mentioned otherwise, using the statement "I have never heard of you before in this region; either you don't know what you are doing or you're bluffing". Give the best suspicious stare possible then slowly back down.

Path 2.3: If he runs away, yell "after him!" to the crowd, grinding my teeth and facepalming at the crowd who just let a person run off with a bloody knife.

Action 3:
Make a big show of searching around the room, and take everything that could potentially be useful in self-defense, identification of the murderer, forensics, or anything else. If someone else finds a weapon and tries to hide it, yell at him and ask "what are you doing with that ___________?".

If he flees, yell "after him!" to the crowd, grinding my teeth and facepalming at the crowd who just let a person run off with a lethal weapon. If more than one person does this, yell at the person who escaped with the more deadly weapon (heavy explosives > sniper rifle > minigun > semiautomatic rifle > shotgun > pistol > light explosive device > polearm > blade weapon > blunt weapon > everything else).

If he does not flee but show signs of possessing suspicious motives or overt hostility, place him in a chokehold and disarm him. Seize the weapon by force and place it in my own inventory, voicing my suspicion that he may be the murderer. Knock him unconscious for one turn.

If he does not flee but is amicable or nonsuspicious, tell him: "watch your back and don't hesitate to defend yourself; don't let that <name of weapon> fall into the murderer's hands". Take note of the weapon's unique characteristics as well as the person who took it.

Movement:
Wait for everyone else to move, then move in the direction that the most people opted to go in, unless a single member travels in a direction that no one else went in, in which case follow him instead, closing the door behind me in the process. Turn on adjacent light switches during movement. In the case of a tie between two directions, pick the direction Roy traveled in; if Roy is not in the groups that moved in the directions that tied, pick a direction in this priority:
(West > East > North > South > Staying Put)

Net Inventory Change:
+1 bloody knife (possible, potentially with fingerprints)
+Weapons (possible)
+Armor (possible)
+Forensics equipment (possible)
+First aid equipment (possible)
+Miscellaneous items (possible)

P.S.
Am I allowed to defend myself from being killed with this action?
-Remain alert and be aware of anyone who attempts to kill me. If an attempt is made, dodge it and put the attacker in a chokehold until he falls unconscious. Yell in a loud voice "_____________ just tried to kill me, someone come help tie him up" so that most people in the house can hear me.

Looking around the room, you scan the other guests but see none of the indicators of guilt which you were hoping to find. You try to remember who in the crowd entered in which order, but in the confusion you can't really be sure. Thinking about it, the one thing you do remember is that Zilean was the first to enter the room, as he was the one who got to the body first and had checked the pulse.

Wing Zero and Tempz begin to leave north, but Tuxedo-Templar positions himself between them and the exit, arms extended across the door to prevent them from leaving.

As a group of people are leaving to the east, EzTerix begins rummaging through the pockets of the corpse. You try to convince him to stop, but he continues. He finishes searching the clothes and slips something into his pocket, though you're not sure if it was a weapon. He then joins the group entering the dining room to the east, now consisting of LoTu)S, Nasus, payne, and EzTerix.

The people remaining in the room now are Wing Zero, Tempz, Tuxedo-Templar, DavidJCobb, Roy, arkla, Vi3t-X, and Tristana.

You walk over to the corpse, and remove the knife from the body. As you remove it, you note that there are no defensive wounds on the body, and no signs of a struggle. You determine it was most likely a one-hit kill. You take care not to touch the hilt in the process of removing the knife. You state, "I will be saving this for evidence as I can see what seems to be outlines of fingerprints on the hilt, making it easy to identify the killer later on." You examine the hilt and nod in satisfaction, though you see nothing in particular on it.

You then announce, "Even though Roy was the first person in the room, do not place all suspicion on him because it is possible that the killer left the room then re-entered later on to frame the first person who showed up; be careful."

You go on to say, "Stay together so the killer cannot isolate small groups of us and take down people without others finding out."

You and DavidJCobb then begin to search around the room. You both walk over to a small wooden stand in the corner, opening the drawer on the front of it and looking inside. DavidJCobb walks away from it, but you see something small and black inside, among the scattered papers. You look closer and see that it is a garage door opener. You figure it may be useful, and slip it into your pocket.

Heading up the stairs, you get to the landing and see the hall here extends a short way to the east and further to the west. You come up behind rayNimagi as you enter the room, who turns around to look at you. He glances down at the bloody knife still held in your hand.

Note: You were dangerously close to going over the action limit :O Your 3 actions ended up being:

1) Taking the knife.
2) Searching the room.
3) Taking the garage door opener.

I included the part where you were looking at the guests in #2, as well as examining the body, since they are all in the room and you were examining its contents. However if you had used an additional action (due to your "if...then" conditions), you'd have had to leave the garage door opener in the drawer after finding it. I just wanted to let you know, I'd hate to see you wasting an action on something trivial and then missing out on important stuff ^^

I'm hoping everyone kept old PMs. The earlier PMs from Azrael had a lot more detail than the turns he is sending out now.

Not so. The amount of content you receive in a turn is relative to your surroundings and what actions take place. Of course when you have 15 people simultaneously performing actions in the same room, the volume of information each person receives is going to be higher than when someone is alone.

Quote from name:Nasus
So quick recap: who is still alive, and why is EzTerix included in this number?
Here's the outdated list I made a while ago:
Quote
payne - kills Nasus and eats one of his own fingers
EzTerix - Declares himself dead (falsely)
Roy, DavidJCobb - Death threat towards payne
LoTu)S - Says he would help kill payne, but the distance is an inconvenience
rayNimagi - States that he did not kill EzTerix, but rather knock him unconscious
Roy - Attacks payne, misses
DavidJCobb - Kills payne
Tuxedo-Templar - Presents complete, extensive collaboration actions for copy/paste (that probably nobody else is using)
Tempz - Discovers blood-soaked rags in his room
Zilean - Claims to have a battery-powered chainsaw and cut a hole in the wall
Tempz - Claims to have found IDs for EzTerix and Zilean while searching drawers
Aristocrat - Claims to have a revolver
Tempz - Takes the bloody rags and IDs
rayNimagi - Plans to escort EzTerix upstairs and try to open doors with EzTerix's mystery item, which turned out to be a key
After that, Aristocrat practically said he was the killer in the shoutbox, everyone started to bandwagon, and now we're all calm again. The heaviest armed group is that of Wing Zero, Aristocrat, and myself. Aristocrat is controlling the breakers, Tux found a diary, Tempz found a secret room because I told him to check behind a bookcase (and he hasn't thanked me for it... suspicious...), and nobody is suspecting EzTerix as much as the bandwagon when you were alive.

heaviest armed group? Really now?

It also made me realize I haven't had a weapon all game while everyone else around me is running for the nearest sharp object. What a bunch of nuts LOL

Sit down now that all is calm, and meditate on the past: to see nothing, hear nothing, smell nothing, taste nothing, feel nothing, think nothing of impurities - to detach oneself from the world. Take a deep breath and think back to everything that occurred before this murder incident.
  • Who am I?
  • Why am I here?
  • Who invited me?
  • What is my occupation?
  • How wealthy am I?
  • What is the meaning of life?
  • Why did I accept the offer?
  • What were my motives in coming here?
  • Why would I be interested in such a visit?
  • Did I kill anyone?
  • Did I know him beforehand, or was the owner someone I barely knew?
  • What did the owner do to convince me to come?
  • Was the owner specifically interested in asking me to come, or did it appear to him that anyone would do?
  • Does the owner have any relatives?
  • Does the owner have life insurance at any point?
  • Does he have a twin brother? Wife? Other relatives?

Meditate more and think hard about everything that happened.
  • How did I arrive at the mansion?
  • When did I arrive at the mansion?
  • What did I bring with me? Where did I put my possessions?
  • Where did I go after arrival at the mansion?
  • What is my objective at this very moment?
  • Was there anyone at the house besides the owner and the guests?
  • How long did I spend in the mansion before the murder occurred?
  • Do I know any of the other guests?
  • If I shared a guest bedroom with other people, which room was it? Who were they?
  • Do I still remember where the keys to my bedroom are located?
  • Did the owner say anything strange, important, or otherwise out of the ordinary?
  • Is there anyone here who would have a clear motive for killing the owner?
  • Does anyone gain anything from the death of the owner?
  • Logically, from what you know about the people whom you accompanied, who acted in the most suspicious manner after the murder?

Each unique recollection uses one action. I try to be lenient when grouping relevant things into one action, but I can assure you that if anyone attempts to recall literally 30 things at the same time, as seen above, they will not be doing all of that in 3 actions. In addition, the information that is recalled will be more vague than it would have otherwise been.

Also, practical information will always cost its own action to recollect (ie, remembering where a specific room is located).

You shouldn't be concerned about this, I don't mind reading through a lot of text. The only issue here is how much someone is able to accomplish within the span of a single turn.

If you assault Azrael with that many of questions, and have the same questions, expect generic answers. Pick the few that you think would be the most productive to ask, or a variant of one of the questions that may provide useful information.

  • Did I kill anyone?
  • Did I know him beforehand, or was the owner someone I barely knew?
  • What did the owner do to convince me to come? - Best asked in a followup recollection, if it's even relevant.
  • Was the owner specifically interested in asking me to come, or did it appear to him that anyone would do? - We might already have this answered, but it won't hurt.
  • Does the owner have any relatives? - He was a "lonely" man, so this might not yield any fruitful information. Not sure we'd even know it, either. Still...
  • Does the owner have life insurance at any point? - Doubt we'd even know this lol.
  • Does he have a twin brother? Wife? Other relatives? - Redundant.

  • Does anyone gain anything from the death of the owner? - Redundant.
