Anything on the 2nd floor? feel something is being hidden.

The backyard so far is just surrounding the house. I'll join the rest of you guys when im done with exploration.

Alright, since it looks like the next few days are going to rape my free time away without lube, I'd like to square away my general plan here in advance. With this, winning should be fairly straightforward.

Game plan (top to bottom):
  1. Finish searching house.
    1. Prioritize hidden areas and inspecting clues over breadth-first searching.
    2. We need that basement explored soon, so find a way to square away your drama sooner rather than later.
    3. DO NOT INSPECT IMPORTANT AREAS ALONE!
  2. Evaluate all gathered empirical evidence thus far. This includes:
    1. Finger print matches with everyone. - According to David, this probably won't yield good odds of a confirmation anymore.
      1. With the reading glasses and tape, at least 2 people could do this simultaneously. I'll need everyone to powder their fingers and imprint them onto a piece of tape, which should only take 1 action, so you have no excuse.
      2. I'll break the reading glasses apart so another person can use the other lense, so between 2 people this should take no more than 5-7 turns to cover everyone (after setup). Unless Azrael says differently, I don't see why 2 people couldn't share the knife print copy to verify.
      3. Between the 10(?) of us here, and with the reading glasses to help improve the odds of confirmations, we have a change to get at least 2 people cleared, if my maths aren't completely off. Might not be much, but I'll explain why this is important shortly.
    2. The diary and papers I've found (which I'm working on now). Another person to help with this would be, uh, helpful.
    3. Anything in the pockets of the bloody clothes Tempz found.
    4. Recollection of who you are and how you got here and why you think someone could possibly be wanting to kill you or the owner. Ez and Zilean's ID tags indicate they may have some backstory, for example. Any information at all will be useful here.
    5. Anything else I don't know about yet.
  3. If conclusive evidence not found, then we make a decision:
    1. We can either stick to the current open-season hunting thing going on now, and see if things sort themselves out...
    2. ...or we can begin a mafia-style lynch vote based on likely suspects. What I have in mind:
      1. First, we gather the most trusted people together to manage the proceedings. The fingerprints (or any solid evidence at all, for that matter) will help for this big time.
      2. We all get together in a closed area that is difficult to escape from. Trusted individuals will make sure of that. No weapons or items.
      3. We begin voting for the likely killer. If a vote decision is made (and we'll take as many turns as necessary to be conclusive), well, you can probably figure out the rest. :P
    3. Anyone who proves to be uncooperative with fingerprinting or consenting to the lynch vote meeting is immediately a priority suspect and must be apprehended with a team effort. Preferably without being killed in the process, but you know, accidents happen. Best to not be a dick.
  4. Otherwise, we gang bang our primary suspect and be done with it. :hurr:

Magic box god; Suck it Corbo

We need to set up a meeting place for the fingerprint testing.. I suggest the kitchen since the flour is already there

Aug 22 2010, 6:43 am The Starport Post #884

Kitchen isn't terribly secure, but just about anywhere with enough people around ought to work. I'll need cooperation from at least 4 people for this, though.

Magic box god; Suck it Corbo

what are we gonna match the fingerprints to? afaik the knife has been tainted by Aristo and DJC

Aug 22 2010, 6:47 am The Starport Post #886

I'm hoping Aristo only threw it by the blade, and David had sense enough to not touch the hilt, also.

None.

Aug 22 2010, 6:51 am DavidJCobb Post #887

I'm pretty sure Aristo touched the hilt, and while Az never said I touched the hilt, I never specified not to. I was too busy slitting payne's throat so that he couldn't kill anyone else, ya know?

As for fingerprinting, I do believe I remember saying that prints are so inconclusive that conclusive proofs of innocence turn people into targets.

Magic box god; Suck it Corbo

people would flock around and listen to the 100% innocent person. I think that by itself is worth the risk of being a target

Aug 22 2010, 7:00 am The Starport Post #889

Bugger. Well there's still a chance the killer's prints are intact, but I guess the odds are now out of our favor.

Oh well. Stick to the rest of the plan, then. If any other empirical evidence turns up, we may yet have something to work with.

Edit: Also, I'll need everyone to do a recollection action at some point (see my above edit). We might get some usable information just from this.

If you want more excitement, just go duel with Aristo or something.

"The Secret Book Room" is pitch black... I would look around for a light switch but there might be a spike or something or even a trap :|

I thought we went over this "no preplaced traps" rule.

Tempz, I thought it was locked.

It is locked... I mean the room with the secret door :(

How did you open it without the key from ray? :|

Due to SEN not working properly yesterday afternoon, I had to delay a few of the turns, the last batch of which were sent out around midnight. I'll be starting turns in about 12 hours from now due to this. Sometime within the next few turns, I will extend one of the deadlines by 12 hours to correct this offset.

Yeah skipping another day I see :awesome:

How would you even control if anyone brought any items? To know that nobody had any concealed weaponry you would have to all be naked and searched up all the wonderful orifices in question. Who determines who is "most trusted".

If I wanted to skip a day I'd delay it 24 hours :P I still have to do it today, just later. The fact is that none of the people I sent turns to at midnight have sent in actions yet, so doing the turns now would be unfair to them. Turns would have been done significantly sooner if hours hadn't gone by with SEN failing to load any pages.

Basic patdowns and common sense ought to suffice. I just don't want revolvers and shit like that turning up. If someone wants to smuggle a swiss army knife or something stupid like that up their anus, good luck not making a scene trying to deploy it. Let alone being effective at using it against an entire crowd, and especially without subsequently getting pwned.

If someone manages to smuggle in a hand grenade or something, then we've got other issues to worry about beyond just our immediate dilemma...

Well the fingerprints were my previous idea, but failing that, I'm hoping we'll yet find any empirical evidence to work with. Otherwise, we could start off with a "mayor vote" or something like that. :P
