she/her

I still have a few questions.

Balance. How are you going to manage the balance between our units?
Crashes and compatibility. As of now, my mod will crash if anything uses "dtemplar.grp" besides my modded unit. Is this acceptable? What's going on?

Balance: The units will mostly be balanced by editing their HP/shields/armor. (Oh btw, everyone's getting x10 HP and shields right off the bat.)

Afaik, no one's using the dtemp GRP. Even if they were, I could just take some image and make it a copy of the (unmodded) dtemp GRP for them to use.

EDIT: You all should have recieved a PM detailing how to submit your entry. (Except ForTheSwarm, who is out of PM space. [Delete some PMs FTS!!!111eleven])

BTW:
I'm using the Reaver as a turret.

It crashed. Never mind.

It crashed because I didn't have a LOL file. When it did though, my "Interceptors" didn't attack. Nor did the Reavers. So I still won't be using them.

Same here. CONTACT ME, TZ, OR DIE.

Bad news folks, I don't think I'll be able to attend. I've sent all the stuff to ForTheSwarm to compile/balance so you'll be able to play even if I can't make it.

Unless, of course, FTS doesn't get here in time to compile all the entries. In that case, I guess we'll push the battle back a week... Or something.

Send me the list of changes you sent TZ.

I already sent you everything, FTS.

Anyway. BATTLE IN 10 MINUTES!!!!

The mod, map, and replay of the battle! Warning: units are severly unbalanced.

First, everyone inadverdantly gangbangs New-.Hydrolisk. In a huff and about to lose, he leaves. HailFire chases me and TassadarZeratul around with his 1337 micro, but eventually I take him down with an Ensnare. While me and HF battle more, TZ hides and summons mass goons. I find him and attack, but the goons are too much for me. I tell HF to come over and help. However, his goons destroy me from afar. HailFire defeats the goons and chases TassadarZeratul around, finally resulting in TZ's death.

For next time: I call Vessel, Wraiths, Scanner Sweep, and Spawn Broodling (but I won't be using it to make Broodlings).

Errrr.... post stuff for next time in the next thread (unless we're reusing this one, which I think we should).

The replay's fucked up, but you can still see our units in action for the first couple minutes.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
