[2017-5-14. : 12:43 am]
Excalibur -- Voyager7456
Voyager7456 shouted: Excalibur why
because someone implied Temple Siege was good for SEN.
[2017-5-14. : 12:12 am]
Voyager7456 -- Excalibur
Excalibur shouted: Just in case you weren't sure, Ex is mad. Mad af. :ex:
why
[2017-5-14. : 12:09 am]
Lanthanide -- I mean, since practically everyone always plays on fastest (and most DC timers assume it), 1 minute on the timer is not a real-life minute, so it's pointless to pretend it is
[2017-5-13. : 11:22 pm]
NudeRaider -- countdown timer will run slower on slower game speeds. It's always 8 trigger loops per sec.
[2017-5-13. : 11:19 pm]
Lanthanide -- so the countdown timer is only useful as a global indicator of when the next important event is going to occur (eg, spawn wave of enemies, or night-time, whatever)
[2017-5-13. : 11:19 pm]
Lanthanide -- timing in SC is screwed up since people can select their own game speeds
[2017-5-13. : 11:16 pm]
Excalibur -- Just in case you weren't sure, Ex is mad. Mad af. :ex:
[2017-5-13. : 9:48 pm]
LoveLess -- Oh in-game second. derp
[2017-5-13. : 9:47 pm]
LoveLess -- I thought it was like 12.6 or something like that NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: m.0.n.3.y 1 ingame second is exactly 8 death counts
[2017-5-13. : 9:06 pm]
NudeRaider -- m.0.n.3.y
m.0.n.3.y shouted: Hey question, does the ingame countdown timer correlate to death counters? So if you set it to 1 minute does that equal about 720 deaths?
1 ingame second is exactly 8 death counts
[2017-5-13. : 8:03 pm]
lil-Inferno -- tru
[2017-5-13. : 6:24 pm]
Moose -- I'm assuming it's not to control the timer, it's to time things against an already normally running timer.
[2017-5-13. : 6:18 pm]
lil-Inferno -- tbh, just make the countdown timer go down manually
[2017-5-13. : 6:03 pm]
Moose -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: yea but then you gotta trust your math and everything
https://youtu.be/gENVB6tjq_M [/jjf]
[2017-5-13. : 5:59 pm]
Moose -- but* smh
[2017-5-13. : 5:58 pm]
Moose -- Btu yeah, that would be a good method for figuring out the conversion rate, if that's what you were describing.
[2017-5-13. : 5:58 pm]
jjf28 -- yea but then you gotta trust your math and everything
[2017-5-13. : 5:56 pm]
Moose -- Or you could just use the actual conversion rate of countdown timer seconds to DCs
[2017-5-13. : 5:55 pm]
jjf28 -- or rather, add 1 mineral instead of using a death counter so you can see the timing
[2017-5-13. : 5:51 pm]
jjf28 -- or whether you care about the roundin
[2017-5-13. : 5:51 pm]
jjf28 -- I'd advise running a count-up deathcounter that ends when the countdown timer does, and if the countdown timer isn't always starting at the same point then do the math and figure out how you'll handle the rounding
[2017-5-13. : 5:37 pm]
Moose -- Isn't it 10 DCs to one countdown timer second?
[2017-5-13. : 5:35 pm]
Moose -- Oh, that's a realtime minute, w/e.
[2017-5-13. : 5:35 pm]
Moose -- (1000 DCs / 84sec) * (60 sec/min) = (6000 DCs / min), ~ 714.285714286
[2017-5-13. : 5:34 pm]
m.0.n.3.y -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: No
Balls, ok
[2017-5-13. : 5:34 pm]
Dem0n -- No
[2017-5-13. : 5:33 pm]
m.0.n.3.y -- Hey question, does the ingame countdown timer correlate to death counters? So if you set it to 1 minute does that equal about 720 deaths?
[2017-5-13. : 2:48 pm]
NudeRaider -- I think it's crazy how the original is muddy and bad quality wise when you look at all the individual elements, but still much more appealing because the composition and mixing is so much better. Feels organic.
[2017-5-13. : 2:45 pm]
Moose -- Also, I like how it's Terran 01, like they're saving room to expand to 99 Terran tracks LMAO
[2017-5-13. : 2:27 pm]
Moose -- TBH, the opening sounds like they couldn't even decide what instruments to use
[2017-5-13. : 2:01 pm]
Voyager7456 -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: @trumpets and guitars: not just clearer, but sometimes overpronounced
this
[2017-5-13. : 1:42 pm]
lil-Inferno -- why lmao
[2017-5-13. : 11:24 am]
Lanthanide -- wow, Taylor Swift's Blank Space has had over 2 billion views on youtube
[2017-5-13. : 11:22 am]
Lanthanide -- none recently though, actually
[2017-5-13. : 11:22 am]
Lanthanide -- yeah, he's had a few fur-flying fights with the cat from the front house
[2017-5-13. : 11:21 am]
NudeRaider -- probably lost a fight or 2 :/
[2017-5-13. : 11:20 am]
Lanthanide -- and the woman who lives in the house in front works for the Cats Protection League so there are often quite a few cats there, that change every couple of months
[2017-5-13. : 11:20 am]
Lanthanide -- that may be due to the overly territorial cat from the house in front of us, though
[2017-5-13. : 11:19 am]
Lanthanide -- he'll only go down the drive when we put the rubbish bins out, or bring them back in
[2017-5-13. : 11:19 am]
Lanthanide -- like, he won't go down the end of the driveway (about 20m) by himself
[2017-5-13. : 11:16 am]
Lanthanide -- he's a big wuss
[2017-5-13. : 11:15 am]
Lanthanide -- there generally aren't a lot of mice / rats around here
[2017-5-13. : 11:15 am]
NudeRaider -- okay, then it's really a bit pathetic :P
[2017-5-13. : 11:14 am]
Lanthanide -- he's 3 years old
[2017-5-13. : 11:14 am]
NudeRaider -- Cats around here, usually just go for smaller prey, like birds and mice. Seems like your environment lets them be much more competent predators
[2017-5-13. : 11:14 am]
Lanthanide -- whereas, my cat is scared of flies
[2017-5-13. : 11:13 am]
NudeRaider -- wow :(
[2017-5-13. : 11:13 am]
Lanthanide -- and a rabbit, once
[2017-5-13. : 11:13 am]
Lanthanide -- until the local penguin colony manager shot his leg off
[2017-5-13. : 11:12 am]
Lanthanide -- and a penguin
[2017-5-13. : 11:12 am]
Lanthanide -- including a seagull
[2017-5-13. : 11:12 am]
Lanthanide -- my boyfriend's cat used to bring home all sorts of prey
[2017-5-13. : 11:12 am]
Lanthanide -- he's fairly fun, although a bit pathetic
[2017-5-13. : 11:12 am]
NudeRaider -- and young.
[2017-5-13. : 11:12 am]
NudeRaider -- sounds like you have a fun cat.
[2017-5-13. : 11:11 am]
Lanthanide -- he didn't know what to do with the starling because it was quite aggressive
[2017-5-13. : 11:11 am]
NudeRaider -- OR maybe it's a decent cat that is just digusted by eating a fly and much prefers your cat food ;)
[2017-5-13. : 11:11 am]
Lanthanide -- previously the only bird he'd managed to catch was a diseased and half-dead one
[2017-5-13. : 11:11 am]
Lanthanide -- he somehow managed to catch a starling (bird) the other day
[2017-5-13. : 11:10 am]
Lanthanide -- he'll catch them, but be too scared of their buzzing to actually eat them
[2017-5-13. : 11:10 am]
Lanthanide -- this is a cat that's also scared of large blowflies
[2017-5-13. : 11:10 am]
NudeRaider -- awww
[2017-5-13. : 11:09 am]
Lanthanide -- so far out of the 3 he's caught, he's never injured them at all as far as I can tell
[2017-5-13. : 11:09 am]
Lanthanide -- but with praying mantises, he's much more uncertain and actively scared of them
[2017-5-13. : 11:09 am]
Lanthanide -- usually by the time I realise he's caught a grasshopper, he's already injured it severely so I just leave him to finish it
[2017-5-13. : 11:08 am]
Lanthanide -- no, and it really wasn't that interesting
[2017-5-13. : 11:06 am]
NudeRaider -- Lanthanide
Lanthanide shouted: cat just caught a praying mantis and was growling at it
Lanthanide
Lanthanide shouted: unlike grasshoppers, praying mantis' fight back
hope you made a video of it. Sounds interesting ^^
[2017-5-13. : 11:03 am]
Lanthanide -- I think that's a reasonable analysis of the music
[2017-5-13. : 10:54 am]
NudeRaider -- @trumpets and guitars: not just clearer, but sometimes overpronounced
[2017-5-13. : 10:53 am]
NudeRaider -- FaRTy1billion I really like the first and last 30secs. They went from the old "funky and puffy" sound to one where the instruments are more pronounced and a tad more realistic and thus the piece gets more life. For the beginning it does a better job of wanting you to hear more, and for the ending it doesn't drag you down as much, which would be a good thing to end the music, but not so much for looped background. The same doesn't work as well during the main parts, where the trumpets and guitars and even background tact elements are much clearer and thus you get the schoolband "by book" vibe from it. Probably why it feels not as full. Despite the individual instruments being better, stuff doesn't blend together as well.
