O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I'm trying to think of how to add/delete things without breaking the indexes :\
[2016-1-15. : 8:56 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Is it 1?
[2016-1-15. : 8:56 pm]
Moose -- "The standard doesn't specify what the initial capacity of a container should be, so you're relying on the implementation. A common implementation will start the capacity at zero, but there's no guarantee."
[2016-1-15. : 8:56 pm]
Moose -- Oh man, the answer is actually funnier
[2016-1-15. : 8:55 pm]
Moose -- I thought it picked 10 or something
[2016-1-15. : 8:54 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- er, I meant capacity
[2016-1-15. : 8:54 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Does a vector start out with a size == 0?
[2016-1-15. : 8:48 pm]
Moose -- :apos:
[2016-1-15. : 8:46 pm]
Dem0n -- :mudkip:
[2016-1-15. : 8:44 pm]
Moose -- :wob:
[2016-1-15. : 8:39 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I can just do it in the basic places, and not worry about the rest :wob:
[2016-1-15. : 8:38 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- ;o
[2016-1-15. : 8:36 pm]
jjf28 -- would actually take some work :P
[2016-1-15. : 8:36 pm]
jjf28 -- ahh damn that's using scenario
[2016-1-15. : 8:35 pm]
jjf28 -- oh and replace that one call on clipboard line 294 with chk->addunit
[2016-1-15. : 8:34 pm]
jjf28 -- Scenario::deleteUnit
[2016-1-15. : 8:33 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- what about deleting units to get rid of it? Is there like removeunit?
[2016-1-15. : 8:33 pm]
jjf28 -- also override Scenario::InsertUnit and do the ~same thing
[2016-1-15. : 8:30 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I was thinking I could just abuse classinstance to point to it, I don't know what else it is for. xD
[2016-1-15. : 8:29 pm]
jjf28 -- from there you can do something like "if ( Scenario::AddUnit(params) ) { graphics.addSprite(); return true; } return false;"
[2016-1-15. : 8:28 pm]
jjf28 -- Scenario::AddUnit, override it with GuiMap::AddUnit
[2016-1-15. : 8:28 pm]
Artynok -- hi!!
[2016-1-15. : 8:26 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- How does it add units? I need to make unit data that's not in the unit struct.

Le new meme: LNW X^DDDDDDDD
[2016-1-15. : 7:50 pm]
lil-Inferno -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: lil-Inferno lil-Inferno Laughing my ass off while shaking my head, in my opinion.
Le new meme: lmaowsmhimo C|X^ D
[2016-1-15. : 7:49 pm]
lil-Inferno -- lil-Inferno
lil-Inferno shouted: le new meme XD
IMD IMO is still best meme smh lmao
[2016-1-15. : 7:49 pm]
Moose -- lil-Inferno
lil-Inferno shouted: Mini Moose 2707 In my defense -> IMD
lil-Inferno
lil-Inferno shouted: le new meme XD
Laughing my ass off while shaking my head, in my opinion.
[2016-1-15. : 7:48 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: hmm, can prolly just copy SCs, i'll catch it during refactoring if it ends up messy
K>
[2016-1-15. : 7:41 pm]
lil-Inferno -- le new meme XD
[2016-1-15. : 7:41 pm]
lil-Inferno -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: Mini Moose 2707 In my defense, he asked for it.
In my defense -> IMD
[2016-1-15. : 7:37 pm]
Moose -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: NudeRaider ayyyyy lmao
In my defense, he asked for it.
[2016-1-15. : 7:36 pm]
Moose -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Mini Moose 2707 Not that I dislike Linux, but if I start to share my non-operations of things I tried with FreeBSD, CentOS and Debian, MS Windows would pale in comparision. :P
ayyyyy lmao
[2016-1-15. : 7:11 pm]
jjf28 -- hmm, can prolly just copy SCs, i'll catch it during refactoring if it ends up messy
[2016-1-15. : 6:53 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- But that sounds even messier.
[2016-1-15. : 6:52 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I could just make it a vector, and have like next/previous index in the data, with [0] being the primary, or something.
[2016-1-15. : 6:49 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I copied SC's setup in my code when I did it before, but I don't know if that's kosher.
[2016-1-15. : 6:47 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- ... or I could copy how SC does it where there is one big master array that is just the memory, and then adding/removing elements just creates separate lists within that array. xD
[2016-1-15. : 6:46 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Instead of pointers to the list elements, should I just use indexes? It's not as direct, but the lists shouldn't ever be too huge.
[2016-1-15. : 6:46 pm]
jjf28 -- for frequent insert/delete yea they're better or the same
[2016-1-15. : 6:45 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Or are they not better?
[2016-1-15. : 6:45 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: prolly, I do recommend vectors tho
lists are better, images need to be inserted (imgol, imgul)
[2016-1-15. : 6:44 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- "Iterator validity No changes." Maybe htat's not necessary? I don't know how these work when not just making my own lists ;o
[2016-1-15. : 6:43 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I'm trying to think of how to store images and stuff. I'm looking at std::list, but I don't know how to specify the primary image.. unless I just get a pointer to it and re-get the pointer any time I add/remove images ...
[2016-1-15. : 6:42 pm]
jjf28 -- prolly, I do recommend vectors tho
[2016-1-15. : 6:41 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- ok, so if I do iscript stuff I have to add all my own?
[2016-1-15. : 6:36 pm]
jjf28 -- Graphics::DrawSprites is all that's written for that
[2016-1-15. : 6:33 pm]
Vrael -- I am Batman.
[2016-1-15. : 6:33 pm]
jjf28 -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: I found a SpriteNode, but it doesn't appear to be used ?
yea that's unused, it draws straight from the scenario
[2016-1-15. : 6:22 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Oh, the 5 guess one is different. Mine must use the 6 guess algorithm
[2016-1-15. : 6:21 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- That's probably the one I used
[2016-1-15. : 6:21 pm]
Sand Wraith -- I read about an algorithm like that on wikipedia but I didn't investigate much further lol
[2016-1-15. : 6:20 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I found a SpriteNode, but it doesn't appear to be used ?
[2016-1-15. : 6:18 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I just found an algorithm that always wins in under 6 turns :P
[2016-1-15. : 6:17 pm]
Sand Wraith -- yeah that's pretty cool, I should do that too, though I'm not quite sure how
[2016-1-15. : 6:17 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Where's jjf, is there not a draw list for units or sprites?
[2016-1-15. : 6:17 pm]
Sand Wraith -- oh ok
[2016-1-15. : 6:15 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I meant it's not multiplayer
[2016-1-15. : 6:14 pm]
Sand Wraith -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: Sand Wraith I did one with a cpu
"cpu"? Like assembly?
[2016-1-15. : 6:10 pm]
Vrael -- oh ok cool
[2016-1-15. : 6:08 pm]
Sand Wraith -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: I'm not familiar with Mastermind, but was your game all just terminal I/O or we talking like GUI stuff?
Vrael
Vrael shouted: if you had any GUI stuff I'm just curious what packages you used, most of what I do in python is scientific computing so I havent delved much into that area but I might need to soon
terminal I/O. I did some GUI stuff for a project in high school using just tk. It was mostly a nightmare to work with because of how impossible it seemed to produce the GUI algorithmically. Maybe I just iddn't learn it well enough at the time.
[2016-1-15. : 6:03 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- "Your code was AAAA." It's smart.
