Moose -- Or maybe a JavaKillerFactoryFactory
[2016-2-18. : 11:23 pm]
Moose -- No, you have to make a JavaKillingFactory
[2016-2-18. : 11:22 pm]
Vrael -- die java die
[2016-2-18. : 10:03 pm]
NudeRaider -- if we could flash and java were the first things we'd ditch.
[2016-2-18. : 10:02 pm]
NudeRaider -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: I can accept this. User requirements, expense, etc. are far better justifications than "well, gee, getting rid of flash won't get rid of all the non-flash vulnerabilities so we might as well keep it".
For the record, I don't like it as well. Not even just because the security risks, but the constant updates constantly break things. It gets old fast.
[2016-2-18. : 10:01 pm]
NudeRaider -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: NudeRaider No shit. Insufficient reason to promote or continue usage of insecure platforms. I don't expect vaccines to prevent all disease there is or will be, but I still get them.
and at the second part: Other malware isn't even "insufficient reason" to keep security risks, it's entirely unrelated. If you cared to read the next sentence, I wrote we gotta keep it because it's still used.

NudeRaider -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: NudeRaider Because you acting like Roy thought it would protect you from everything. XDDDDDDDD
I wasn't acting like he didn't know, it was part of the reasoning why it's not an option for us - you will need a plan B either way and the users are not ready to just accept they can't see flash or java content anymore.. Plus that comment also was half joking. I never knew I wasn't allowed to use established knowledge to build an argument. Actually I thought it's the way to go.
[2016-2-18. : 9:50 pm]
Moose -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: "Program testing can be used to show the presence of bugs, but never to show their absence!"
Translation: we're fucked, LMAO

jjf28 -- "Program testing can be used to show the presence of bugs, but never to show their absence!"
[2016-2-18. : 9:14 pm]
Wing Zero -- Roy
Roy shouted: Wing Zero But it isn't restricted to a single planet.
That's not the point, its the consistency. The most they should deviate from it is Worlds of StarCraft.
[2016-2-18. : 9:01 pm]
Moose -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: I've mistakenly used a 32 bit integer for an array index with more than 4 billion elements before, though I don't know if I've encountered a situation yet where a 64-bit integer wouldnt suffice as you say
Not yet, anyway. Eventually we probably will.
[2016-2-18. : 9:00 pm]
Moose -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Mini Moose 2707 Why you guys acting like I think getting rid of flash wouldn't enhance security?
Because you acting like Roy thought it would protect you from everything. XDDDDDDDD

[2016-2-18. : 8:51 pm]
Moose -- The more realistic bottleneck for that would be actually having 1.844674407×10¹⁹ ( / 2 ?) things to put in an array, lmao
[2016-2-18. : 8:50 pm]
Moose -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: Mini Moose 2707 I actually encounter bugs like that all the time
I encounter overflow, too, but usually because I'm trying to fit something into an int or long or uint or ulong, given some huge numbers Project Euler wants me to calculate. Doesn't really come up much for arrays, though, since D uses a long (or maybe it was a ulong) for array size.
[2016-2-18. : 8:49 pm]
Moose -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: given that nowadays everyone wants to BigData their Automated Productivity with Machine Learning on Hadoop in Parallelized Systems for Predictive Market Cornering
Lmao, the code artisans of big data
[2016-2-18. : 8:45 pm]
Vrael -- though it is actually pretty cool to code stuff on a cluster
[2016-2-18. : 8:45 pm]
Vrael -- given that nowadays everyone wants to BigData their Automated Productivity with Machine Learning on Hadoop in Parallelized Systems for Predictive Market Cornering
[2016-2-18. : 8:44 pm]
Vrael -- 32 bit integers are very frequently too small for modern indexing
[2016-2-18. : 8:43 pm]
Vrael -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: LMAO > le master Javalord > write Effective Java > still leave out semicolons in example code > LMAO
I actually encounter bugs like that all the time
[2016-2-18. : 8:31 pm]
Moose -- LMAO > le master Javalord > write Effective Java > still leave out semicolons in example code > LMAO
[2016-2-18. : 8:30 pm]
Moose -- Also, that feel when most binary search algorithms were bugged for like two decades and then you realize you're a scrub and probably don't even have a chance if that can happen, lmao.
[2016-2-18. : 8:29 pm]
Moose -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Roy Roy from a security standpoint, of course. But it still won't defeat all malware there is or will be. They'll adapt. Hackers, uh... find a way. ;)

lil-Inferno shouted: Roy I didn't know how to get Flash as a kid so I had to go blindly through the cave every time :(
LMAO
[2016-2-18. : 8:16 pm]
lil-Inferno -- Roy
Roy shouted: Also, if you just memorize the cave layout, you don't need to give a Pokemon the Flash HM.

RibidoSphinx -- yo can anyone link me to the latest version of scmdraft?
[2016-2-18. : 7:21 pm]
jjf28 -- safer languages & occasional updates drastically increases the required time commitment to find good exploits: why unlocking died/why rooting isn't one-size-fits all
[2016-2-18. : 7:14 pm]
NudeRaider -- Roy
Roy shouted: NudeRaider Nowadays? Shouldn't it be easier to move away from Flash? Most things that were Flash-based have transitioned to HTML5. From a security perspective, Flash is an unsecure vulnerability. And it would solve the issue of Teslacrypt, if I'm not mistaken, seeing as it uses an exploit in Flash to compromise the system. I was half joking and half serious about ditching Flash.
easier than a couple of years ago, yes, but flash is far from dead. The 'nowadays' probably isn't very accurate but I was thinking of times before flash.

[2016-2-18. : 7:10 pm]
NudeRaider -- maphack!
[2016-2-18. : 6:45 pm]
Vrael -- good luck perfectly entering that sequence of steps without messing up though
[2016-2-18. : 6:44 pm]

Roy -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Roy not really an option nowadays and it wouldn't solve the problem once and for all. That kind of thinking, consequently followed, would only lead to a golden cage. We gotta learn live in the world, as bad as it is.

[2016-2-18. : 6:38 pm]
Vrael -- Otherwise we might get caught and people will find out about our secret league of evil villans
[2016-2-18. : 6:37 pm]
Vrael -- Dude we've had this discussion before, you remember our bargain? I stop leaving used needles in public places where people are likely to get stabbed by them and you have to stop Flash.
[2016-2-18. : 6:34 pm]
NudeRaider -- But some girls look genuinely intrigued! Maybe they wanted to see more? Don't you have a heart for kids?!
[2016-2-18. : 6:10 pm]
Vrael -- I mean I know it's why the call you "nude raider" but like, just look, you have a problem man, OK?
[2016-2-18. : 6:03 pm]
Vrael -- Nude just stop flashing your genitals at young girls OK? That kind of thinking will put you in an iron cage, not a delusional golden one.
[2016-2-18. : 5:53 pm]
NudeRaider -- Roy
Roy shouted: NudeRaider Stop using Flash.

Stop using Flash.

and conveniently displays the cry for help that blizzard needs as well "save our ship"
[2016-2-18. : 3:22 pm]
dumbducky -- when was the last sighting of PCFredz
[2016-2-18. : 3:21 pm]
lil-Inferno -- And besides we can play World of Starcraft.scx by PCFredZ!
[2016-2-18. : 3:17 pm]
lil-Inferno -- Roy
Roy shouted: Wing Zero But it isn't restricted to a single planet.
To be fair, neither is WoW.

Roy -- Sector of StarCraft?
[2016-2-18. : 3:00 pm]
Roy -- Wing Zero
Wing Zero shouted: Roy If that happens, it NEEDS to be called World of StarCraft. No other name is acceptable.
But it isn't restricted to a single planet.
[2016-2-18. : 2:53 pm]
jjf28 -- :wob:
[2016-2-18. : 2:46 pm]

lil-Inferno shouted: There's no reason to make WC4 when they can just make new WoW expansions.
Too bad they made SC2 when they could have made an SC1 expansion, laughing out loud!

[2016-2-18. : 5:25 am]

lil-Inferno -- There's no reason to make WC4 when they can just make new WoW expansions.
[2016-2-18. : 5:19 am]
Dem0n -- Of course they'd make millions of it, but it'd probably be superficial as fuck.
