dumbducky -- What if the line actually contained the dummy character
[2016-2-26. : 12:57 am]
Moose -- You could operate on the whole line first, replace escaped quotes with a dummy character, do that, then put the dummy characters back to escaped quotes
[2016-2-26. : 12:57 am]
Moose -- Tho actually escaped quotes will still kill you
[2016-2-26. : 12:56 am]
Moose -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: speaking of regex or farlap or something, is there a nice way to find all tabs within quotes and change them to \t ?
awk 'BEGIN{FS=OFS="\""} {for(i=1; 2*i<NR; ++i) {gsub(/\t/,"\\\t",$i)} print }' file
[2016-2-26. : 12:56 am]
dumbducky -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: They would be equivalent in any shell I've used
I feel like Ubuntu's terminal might have yelled at me the other day for that, but it might have been the bash script and some string variable shenanigans
[2016-2-26. : 12:51 am]
jjf28 -- wow preliminary googling for that is disgusting, I'll make my own program to do it :P
[2016-2-26. : 12:49 am]
jjf28 -- guess I also have to worry about escaped quotes ( \" )
[2016-2-26. : 12:46 am]
jjf28 -- speaking of regex or farlap or something, is there a nice way to find all tabs within quotes and change them to \t ?
[2016-2-26. : 12:44 am]
Moose -- They would be equivalent in any shell I've used
[2016-2-26. : 12:43 am]
dumbducky -- oops, I meant grep 'grep' grep.txt
[2016-2-26. : 12:43 am]
dumbducky -- grep grep grep.txt

lil-Inferno -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: Every other city we go, every other video, no matter where I go, I see the same hoes
It's all about U.
[2016-2-26. : 12:18 am]
Roy -- Boy, Regex sure is hard.
[2016-2-26. : 12:16 am]
Roy -- Ah, wait, you can simplify a bit there: (?<=^)^([a-z]{1,}|([A-Z][A-Z]*^?$?))+(((?=\^)?\^[0-23-6-9])|((?=\^).\d)?|$)$?^{0,999999999}([0-5]{0,5}|[0-9]{0,1}){0,}$$
[2016-2-26. : 12:16 am]
Moose -- :roy: Now that's more like it! :roy:
[2016-2-26. : 12:14 am]
Roy -- Unless of course the number can be more than one digit. That complicates things a bit, but it should be this: (?<=^)^([a-z]{1,}|([A-Z][A-Z]*^?$?))+(((?=\^)?\^[0-23-6-9])|((?=\^).\d)?|$)$?^{0,5}([0-5]{0,5}|[6-9]{0,1})$$$^?
[2016-2-26. : 12:10 am]
Roy -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: Roy I'm disappointed, I thought you would troll with a poorly optimized regex that does what it should but is ten times more complicated than it needs to be.
Sorry. Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: What would the regex be for one or more letters, possibly followed by ^ and one or more numbers?
This should work: (?<=^)^([a-z]{1,}|([A-Z][A-Z]*^?$?))+(((?=\^)?\^[0-23-6-9])|((?=\^).\d)?|$)$
[2016-2-26. : 12:03 am]
Corbo -- what
[2016-2-26. : 12:03 am]
Corbo -- holyshit this killed all units in the map except for fenix zealot, fenix dragoon, scout and artanis
[2016-2-26. : 12:00 am]
Roy -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Seems you guys earn a lot of money. Maybe it looks to me like that because prices are different? So I gotta ask, what do you have to earn in the US in a middle sized city (100k population) to just barely get by? And with that I mean you have food, a small flat, clothes and have enough left over so you can go out and drink a few beers every saturday.
I could get by on $22k.
[2016-2-25. : 11:59 pm]
Corbo -- or... all weapon ranges for that matter?
[2016-2-25. : 11:59 pm]
Corbo -- is arbiter's weapon range * 256?
[2016-2-25. : 11:56 pm]
Moose -- Every other city we go, every other video, no matter where I go, I see the same hoes
[2016-2-25. : 11:56 pm]
Dem0n -- who needs to be on a diet when you can just not eat LMAO
[2016-2-25. : 11:56 pm]
Dem0n -- ya
[2016-2-25. : 11:53 pm]
Moose -- Your diet game is weak.
[2016-2-25. : 11:49 pm]
Dem0n -- All I've eaten in the past 2 days is 2 bagels and a sandwich
[2016-2-25. : 11:46 pm]
Moose -- You have to watch your figure.
[2016-2-25. : 11:46 pm]
Moose -- Maybe just four and a half.
[2016-2-25. : 11:45 pm]
Dem0n -- Do I get Five Guys for dinner?
[2016-2-25. : 11:43 pm]
Moose -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: It's just what you make, though. How well you manage expenses matters a lot, too. You could probably do make that work on $25-30k.
not* just, lel
[2016-2-25. : 11:42 pm]
Moose -- Also, IIRC Lanthanide isn't making USD. (I could be wrong)
[2016-2-25. : 11:41 pm]
Moose -- It's just what you make, though. How well you manage expenses matters a lot, too. You could probably do make that work on $25-30k.
[2016-2-25. : 11:38 pm]
Moose -- The U.S. Census Bureau reported in September 2014 that: U.S. real (inflation adjusted) median household income was $51,939 in 2013
[2016-2-25. : 11:16 pm]

[2016-2-25. : 10:46 pm]
Lanthanide -- also it's not clear when the next pay rise will be...
[2016-2-25. : 10:46 pm]
Lanthanide -- of course it will be the lowest six figure salary you can get, but meh
[2016-2-25. : 10:45 pm]
Lanthanide -- after my next pay-rise I'll be on 6 figures

Moose -- "How do you think you can win this nomination?" "... by getting more delegates than my opponent." REKT
[2016-2-25. : 8:49 pm]
Moose -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: Corbo I turned down a six-figure job because I wouldn't have been able to live the lifestyle I wanted and my current job pays enough. So no, not every six figure job is necessarily the best.
Indeed, there are also "six-figure" jobs where you get on salary for the six figures but really only make $30/hr because you end up working 70+ hour weeks.

Moose -- Roy
Roy shouted: Dem0n Dem0n Yeah, that's right.
I'm disappointed, I thought you would troll with a poorly optimized regex that does what it should but is ten times more complicated than it needs to be.
[2016-2-25. : 8:19 pm]
Excalibur -- But I'm trying to get a job closer to 50k so I can afford to rent a place.
[2016-2-25. : 8:19 pm]
Roy -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: What would the regex be for one or more letters, possibly followed by ^ and one or more numbers?
Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: is [a-zA-Z]+(\^[0-9]+)? right?
Yeah, that's right.
[2016-2-25. : 8:18 pm]
Excalibur -- Eh. I'm doing like 40k-ish a year depending on OT/expenses. Its not bad.
[2016-2-25. : 7:47 pm]
NudeRaider -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: NudeRaider That's more than I need
yeah but that's pretty modest and not close to living like a king. ;) Personally I'd be happy with that too, but I also kind of want to drive a sports car or something fancy like a Tesla. At the same time I really don't need a car at all and I'd be spending so much on something I don't need and just want for fun, so I probably wouldn't do it, even if I could unless money became completely a non-issue for me.
[2016-2-25. : 6:17 pm]
Vrael -- Corbo
Corbo shouted: when you guys refer to six figures job, is every six figures good?
I turned down a six-figure job because I wouldn't have been able to live the lifestyle I wanted and my current job pays enough. So no, not every six figure job is necessarily the best.
[2016-2-25. : 5:54 pm]
Dem0n -- it'll match ft^2 and then just ^2, which isn't what I want
[2016-2-25. : 5:54 pm]
Dem0n -- i did but idk
[2016-2-25. : 5:53 pm]
lil-Inferno -- check imo
[2016-2-25. : 5:32 pm]
Dem0n -- is [a-zA-Z]+(\^[0-9]+)? right?
[2016-2-25. : 5:32 pm]
Dem0n -- So it could either be a set of letters or a set of letters raised by a number, like 'ft' or 'ft^2'
[2016-2-25. : 5:31 pm]
Dem0n -- What would the regex be for one or more letters, possibly followed by ^ and one or more numbers?
[2016-2-25. : 5:06 pm]
Corbo -- D: and i am almost broke
[2016-2-25. : 4:56 pm]
Dem0n -- ez boxes
[2016-2-25. : 3:04 pm]
Corbo -- and I cannot play with it easily at work D:
[2016-2-25. : 3:04 pm]
Corbo -- it still doesn't work D:
[2016-2-25. : 2:55 pm]
jjf28 -- that's a damn lotta figures
[2016-2-25. : 2:53 pm]
dumbducky -- I make over $6k figures.
[2016-2-25. : 2:43 pm]
Corbo -- so I can figure out where it stops working ;o
[2016-2-25. : 2:43 pm]
Corbo -- good thing is that I now have a way to debug stuff thanks to farty <3
