[2016-4-23. : 6:52 am]
BloodyZombie117 -- it's almost 3 am here and I just gone back from getting butter at Walmart.
[2016-4-23. : 6:17 am]
jjf28 -- circling back to the original point: it's more difficult than regular java :P
[2016-4-23. : 6:15 am]
jjf28 -- Android Studios console is designed around multiple debugging levels though so it must get some use
[2016-4-23. : 6:13 am]
Sacrieur -- Like if your program isn't parsing files right and you're unsure if the error is in your IO or File class. Which it shoudln't be in either of those, because neither of those things should ever have anything to do with parsing text.
[2016-4-23. : 6:10 am]
Sacrieur -- It probably means your shit isn't encapsulated appropriately.
[2016-4-23. : 6:09 am]
jjf28 -- likely
[2016-4-23. : 6:07 am]
Sacrieur -- If your app is in need of multiple debugging levels you've fucked up your design.
[2016-4-23. : 6:07 am]
jjf28 -- lil-Inferno
lil-Inferno shouted: Why the fucc would you wanna do that?
Sacrieur
Sacrieur shouted: All debug messages should be tagged the same.
if your app is huge and has need of multiple debugging levels you might need to go there
[2016-4-23. : 6:04 am]
Sacrieur -- Just. Don't.
[2016-4-23. : 6:04 am]
Sacrieur -- DONT DO MODIFIED API
[2016-4-23. : 6:04 am]
Sacrieur -- Trying to implement your own tags in the API is just going to confuse everyone.
[2016-4-23. : 6:02 am]
Sacrieur -- If you want to include your own categories for debugging then you should just make it part of the debug message.
[2016-4-23. : 6:01 am]
Sacrieur -- All debug messages should be tagged the same.
[2016-4-23. : 6:01 am]
Sacrieur -- class Write
[2016-4-23. : 5:58 am]
Dem0n -- IDK LMAO
[2016-4-23. : 5:58 am]
lil-Inferno -- Why the fucc would you wanna do that?
[2016-4-23. : 5:57 am]
Dem0n -- Unless you want to differentiate debug messages with different tags O_____________O
[2016-4-23. : 5:56 am]
lil-Inferno -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: Or just include a tag ROFL
When you're working with other people and wanna make sure every log message has the same tag tho >____________________________________>
[2016-4-23. : 5:53 am]
Sacrieur -- If it's so popular Google should just add it in to the API
[2016-4-23. : 5:53 am]
Sacrieur -- So that way you can do exactly what you described xD
[2016-4-23. : 5:52 am]
Sacrieur -- I didn't read the full article. So you would write a Debug wrapper for the Log class.
[2016-4-23. : 5:52 am]
Sacrieur -- That's my bad, inferno
[2016-4-23. : 5:50 am]
Dem0n -- Or just include a tag ROFL
[2016-4-23. : 5:47 am]
lil-Inferno -- Or you can do what I do and make a wrapper for the Log class that negates the need to give a log message a tag C|:^ )
[2016-4-23. : 5:46 am]
lil-Inferno -- Sacrieur
Sacrieur shouted: Using the very easy to remember syntax of Debug.out("Error message!");
I've never seen that before. You're supposed to do Log.x("Tag", "Message"); where x can be i (info), w (warning), e (error), d (debug), v (verbose), or wtf (I have no idea what this does ROFL)
[2016-4-23. : 5:44 am]
lil-Inferno -- Yes, LogCat shows a log of all system messages as well as messages that apps log. Each message has a tag, so you can search by tag to separate your app's log messages from all of the system messages.
[2016-4-23. : 5:43 am]
Sacrieur -- Using the very easy to remember syntax of Debug.out("Error message!");
[2016-4-23. : 5:42 am]
Sacrieur -- Also you can print to something called LogCat
[2016-4-23. : 5:42 am]
lil-Inferno -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: Sacrieur it's quite a bit more tricky, you have to build your own console if you want one on your phone; there is no dedicated debugger console on the desktop, you print to an area shared by a mess of system messages; you have to deal with your starting object being transient wrt the app being active; a horrendous messaging system to Activities (imo) if you need to send anything from separate threads to the GUI (which also run on a different framework than Java threads); and finally you have to deal with lots of version concerns and nuances just to start debugging
If you don't write shit code it's EZ tho.
[2016-4-23. : 5:41 am]
Sacrieur -- Android seems to have a Console: http://developer.android.com/reference/java/io/Console.html
[2016-4-23. : 4:55 am]
Dem0n -- O__________O
[2016-4-23. : 4:47 am]
jjf28 -- also 2 days till GoT
[2016-4-23. : 4:46 am]
jjf28 -- tfw you're very excited to finish a tv season but also prematurely pissed about the cliffhanger they'll inevitably leave you on
[2016-4-23. : 4:46 am]
KrayZee -- Currently playing the Mirror's Edge Catalyst Beta! :D
[2016-4-23. : 4:44 am]
jjf28 -- stolen.
[2016-4-23. : 4:43 am]
jjf28 -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: I guess we'll just have to hope that maybe someday America will invade the United States and establish democracy there.
:moose:
[2016-4-23. : 4:43 am]
Moose -- I guess we'll just have to hope that maybe someday America will invade the United States and establish democracy there.
[2016-4-23. : 4:42 am]
Moose -- Then again, I guess that level of convenience for voting and traceability would make manipulation and disenfranchisement too hard. Or maybe they'll say it's expensive. Gotta save money to bring democracy to the Middle East or wherever.
[2016-4-23. : 4:38 am]
Moose -- I'd even go so far as to say results should be public but anonymous. Everyone gets a randomly generated identifier but anyone can go look at the big list of identifiers to votes.
[2016-4-23. : 4:38 am]
jjf28 -- but yea, Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: My hope is that regardless of the outcomes, we realize how stupid the primary process is, how woefully inadequate the voting infrastructure is, and how much disenfranchisement is actually going on. So much of what's happening is unacceptable for a democratic process in this age.
, why alot of things
[2016-4-23. : 4:36 am]
Moose -- Given what we can do with encryption, PKI, etc., there is no reason that it can't be.
[2016-4-23. : 4:35 am]
jjf28 -- if taxes can be 100% electronic why the hell isn't voting?
[2016-4-23. : 4:34 am]
Moose -- LOL ALL OF OUR VOTING MACHINES ARE DOWN, LOL LET'S ONLY HAVE TEN POLLING PLACES IN THE STATE, LOL LET'S HAVE PRIMARIES AT INCONVENIENT TIMES WITH HOUR LONG LINES
[2016-4-23. : 4:32 am]
Moose -- My hope is that regardless of the outcomes, we realize how stupid the primary process is, how woefully inadequate the voting infrastructure is, and how much disenfranchisement is actually going on. So much of what's happening is unacceptable for a democratic process in this age.

Dem0n -- Bring back Al Gore LMAO
[2016-4-23. : 4:30 am]
Moose -- Hillary isn't going to pick a Republican for VP.
[2016-4-23. : 4:30 am]
jjf28 -- just watch *grabs popcorn*
[2016-4-23. : 4:26 am]
Moose -- I don't think either of those two would ever seriously consider Palin as VP.
[2016-4-23. : 4:25 am]
jjf28 -- watch it be Sarah Palin :rip:
[2016-4-23. : 4:23 am]
Dem0n -- Whoever those dumbasses pick as VP :rip:
[2016-4-23. : 4:22 am]
jjf28 -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: Trump vs Hillary :rip:
Most likely to be impeached at their inauguration, 2016
[2016-4-23. : 4:20 am]
Dem0n -- Trump vs Hillary :rip:
[2016-4-23. : 4:19 am]
jjf28 -- I get the feeling this election will end badly or be the most glorious election ever
[2016-4-23. : 4:18 am]
jjf28 -- by blacking out the final states in bernies favor imo

[2016-4-23. : 3:25 am]
Dem0n -- Middle
[2016-4-23. : 3:24 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- https://i.snag.gy/5abcSZ.jpg which one is it? :(
[2016-4-23. : 3:23 am]
Sacrieur -- Yeah, like a more robust and useful API.
[2016-4-23. : 3:22 am]
Dem0n -- There are a few differences
[2016-4-23. : 3:22 am]
Sacrieur -- And debugging Java is easy.
[2016-4-23. : 3:21 am]
Sacrieur -- It's basically just debugging Java
[2016-4-23. : 3:21 am]
Sacrieur -- what do you mean debugging Android?
