[2016-4-30. : 4:20 pm]
jjf28 -- how many cookies do you have moose?
[2016-4-30. : 4:17 pm]
Moose -- Obviously not a Cookie Clicker player.
[2016-4-30. : 4:14 pm]
Dem0n -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: Clokr_ I don't regularly work with numbers over 9 Quintillion :wob:
shit programmer imo
[2016-4-30. : 4:11 pm]
jjf28 -- Clokr_
Clokr_ shouted: no int128_t though
I don't regularly work with numbers over 9 Quintillion :wob:
[2016-4-30. : 3:13 pm]
Moose -- C++, makes C bigger but returns the same value. C|X ^DDDDDDDDDDDD
[2016-4-30. : 3:10 pm]
lil-Inferno -- You'll have to wait until 2107 for that.
[2016-4-30. : 2:46 pm]
Clokr_ -- no int128_t though
[2016-4-30. : 2:45 pm]
jjf28 -- most of those years were spent making algorithms concerned with the maxes relevant imo :P
[2016-4-30. : 2:45 pm]
Moose -- Surprised they didn't wait until 2043 to add int64_t, could've been a theme.
[2016-4-30. : 2:45 pm]
Moose -- Incidentally, it took them 32 years :P
[2016-4-30. : 2:45 pm]
jjf28 -- s32, s64 master race imo
[2016-4-30. : 2:44 pm]
Clokr_ -- C++ now has fixed length types, like int32_t and int64_t
[2016-4-30. : 2:43 pm]
Moose -- I wouldn't be surprised if the C++ standard specified one. Sure, most systems use 32 bits, but why bother to fix it for them?
[2016-4-30. : 2:43 pm]
jjf28 -- neither of those divides evenly by 6, so you can't get a truly fair dice roll like that
[2016-4-30. : 2:40 pm]
jjf28 -- ... though I don't think int has a guaranteed max
[2016-4-30. : 2:40 pm]
Clokr_ -- Even if you want a number up to 2147483648 you only need to roll 12 dices, as this is the number of digits it has on base 6.
[2016-4-30. : 2:39 pm]
jjf28 -- I suppose you need to have the dice hardcoded and return based on the sizeof(int)
[2016-4-30. : 2:38 pm]
Clokr_ -- As 32767 has only 6 digits in base 6, you only need to roll that dice 6 times.
[2016-4-30. : 2:38 pm]
jjf28 -- but the function isn't called rand :P
[2016-4-30. : 2:36 pm]
Clokr_ -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: I doubt he rolled and counted 2147483648 dice :wob:
rand() returns a random number between 0 and RAND_MAX, and the later is implementation dependent and only guaranteed to be atleast 32767.
[2016-4-30. : 2:33 pm]
jjf28 -- o, better: 1, 2, 3: 0 bit, 4, 5, 6: 1 bit
[2016-4-30. : 2:28 pm]
jjf28 -- I suppose you could setup stats for getting a fair role for each diget and roll under 1000 dice to get a random dword
[2016-4-30. : 2:23 pm]
MadZombie -- Anyone interested in the EARLY early open beta access for over watch?
[2016-4-30. : 2:23 pm]
jjf28 -- ... and got a 4
[2016-4-30. : 2:21 pm]
jjf28 -- I doubt he rolled and counted 2147483648 dice :wob:
[2016-4-30. : 2:18 pm]
Clokr_ -- https://xkcd.com/221/
[2016-4-30. : 2:12 pm]
Moose -- It may look like it doesn't do much, but it's all in the comments, trust me
[2016-4-30. : 2:12 pm]
Clokr_ -- Interesting function you have there.
[2016-4-30. : 2:09 pm]
Moose -- this is basically what I'm imagining him being angry about.
[2016-4-30. : 1:59 pm]
Moose -- Yeah, but tabs are prettier, ergo he must be able to notice even if the setting is the same.
[2016-4-30. : 1:58 pm]
*jjf28 pragmatism vs sarcasm*
[2016-4-30. : 1:58 pm]
jjf28 -- notepad++ can, you'd also notice if you had a different setting for the tab<-->space count
[2016-4-30. : 1:57 pm]
Moose -- So wait, if there are two lines of code, one indented with a tab, and one indented with the same number of spaces, he can tell the difference just by looking at it?
[2016-4-30. : 1:55 pm]
jjf28 -- TLDR: that 'only downside' manfests in several problematic ways
[2016-4-30. : 1:52 pm]
jjf28 -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Code changes: - All tabs replaced with 4 spaces, all quoted tabs with \t >>> I don't get this. The spaces are for indentation, right? And the only reason we use more than 1 space is because we feel it's not enough of a visual aid. Tab conveniently does this with 1 char. The only downside I see is that different programs will have different lengths of tabs but that doesn't seem to destroy the purpose. What am I missing?

[2016-4-30. : 12:15 pm]
Corbo -- That turned out longer than I expected :P
[2016-4-30. : 12:15 pm]
Corbo -- I find it stupid when these sort of things happen. People just need to learn to deal when males are the majority of X field. Don't just try to force "gender equality", it doesn't work like that, because forcing it means you're effectively favouring one gender. Gender equality or "inclusiveness" = take people disregarding their gender and only look at their merits. Same goes for work, when hiring someone I don't go looking "Hey, I have hired 5 men and 4 women, I need to hire another woman!" I just look at what they have done and if they qualify for the job... It's stupid really. If equality was having the same amount of everything I wouldn't be able to build my projects, there's basically zero women that are construction workers here and not because they cannot, there simply aren't any. Plus, in principle it's just being exclusive by definition, it's basically picking persons by their skin color/gender/etc...
[2016-4-30. : 10:18 am]
Corbo -- nothing done*
[2016-4-30. : 10:17 am]
Corbo -- not usually, but I have lots of work to do and a follow up meeting at 8am and I had nothing do, so yesterday I came back home a little bit drunk so I decided to sleep like 2 hours and wake up later to work.
[2016-4-30. : 10:03 am]
Clokr_ -- You wake up at 3am?
[2016-4-30. : 9:56 am]
Corbo -- Oops. Sorry about that, didn't realise I had caps on.
[2016-4-30. : 9:56 am]
Corbo -- Clokr_
Clokr_ shouted: Corbo, is it like really late?
Clokr_
Clokr_ shouted: Or really early on Saturday???
FOR ME IT'S REALLY EARLY SAT. I JUST WOKE UP AN HOUR AGO. IT'S 3:56 NOW.
[2016-4-30. : 9:46 am]
NudeRaider -- Code changes: - All tabs replaced with 4 spaces, all quoted tabs with \t >>> I don't get this. The spaces are for indentation, right? [2016-4-30. : 9:45 am]
Clokr_ -- Corbo, is it like really late?
[2016-4-30. : 9:44 am]
Corbo -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: also business birds! http://i.imgur.com/uk7T8eL.gif http://i.imgur.com/mNKFJm6.gif
that looks incredibly weird.
[2016-4-30. : 9:43 am]
Clokr_ -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Clokr_ time zones, how do they work?
Oh, of course.
[2016-4-30. : 9:41 am]
NudeRaider -- also business birds! http://i.imgur.com/uk7T8eL.gif http://i.imgur.com/mNKFJm6.gif
[2016-4-30. : 9:41 am]
NudeRaider -- no offense, it's just a meme, that I thought would fit here
[2016-4-30. : 9:39 am]
Corbo -- wow, did you just wake up a little bit more on the wrong side of the bed today, nude? :P
[2016-4-30. : 9:37 am]
NudeRaider -- Clokr_
Clokr_ shouted: Kaias Is the date wrong? Why does it says 2nd April?
time zones, how do they work?
[2016-4-30. : 9:37 am]
Corbo -- What did he say he had?
[2016-4-30. : 9:36 am]
NudeRaider -- Voyager7456
Voyager7456 shouted: Naturally I got it right as the weekend hits
you acquire it during the week from your colleagues on like tuesday and 3 days late you get it yourself. Why are viruses such assholes?
[2016-4-30. : 9:33 am]
Clokr_ -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: Is it taking you a really long time to finish chkdraft, or is this a normal amount of time for a project like this?
He had it halfdone when he announced it. Plus he probably had some code working already from Scmdraft 1. But I can guarantee you an editor takes a lot of work.
[2016-4-30. : 9:17 am]
Clokr_ -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: and I'm basically just doing replace all. xD
Good thing you never leave your projects unfinished when you get bored. Oh wait...
[2016-4-30. : 9:16 am]
Clokr_ -- Kaias
Kaias shouted: http://www.staredit.net/topic/14999/ good times
Is the date wrong? Why does it says 2nd April?
[2016-4-30. : 6:43 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- and I'm basically just doing replace all. xD
[2016-4-30. : 6:43 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- out of ~1700
[2016-4-30. : 6:42 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- ~700 more addresses to do
[2016-4-30. : 6:42 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- units.dat has way too many entries D:
[2016-4-30. : 6:33 am]
Dem0n -- Make something really cool that gets you fat $tack$, then you can spend all day working on what you like
[2016-4-30. : 6:24 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I wish I could quit my job and work on my personal programming every day
[2016-4-30. : 6:09 am]
jjf28 -- so taking it full time for two months or so could prolly knock out the remaining features
[2016-4-30. : 6:07 am]
jjf28 -- but I've only been working on it a little bit each month (did all of switches, most of CUWPs today, updates to conditions/actions the previous two days)
[2016-4-30. : 6:06 am]
Dem0n -- How long did it take SI to make Scmdraft?
[2016-4-30. : 6:06 am]
Dem0n -- ayy lmao
[2016-4-30. : 6:06 am]
jjf28 -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: Is it taking you a really long time to finish chkdraft, or is this a normal amount of time for a project like this?
dunno, haven't written 40k+LoC projects before
[2016-4-30. : 6:05 am]
Dem0n -- Not trying to sound like a dick, just wondering LMAO
[2016-4-30. : 6:05 am]
