lil-Inferno -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: jjf28 variable_in_which_to_hold_the_index_of_some_other_variable_from_array2_integer?
Better than "mIndex" imo
[2016-12-15. : 12:14 am]
Vrael -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: Vrael ur fired
variable_in_which_to_hold_the_index_of_some_other_variable_from_array2_integer?
[2016-12-14. : 11:56 pm]
jjf28 -- ur no fun
[2016-12-14. : 11:56 pm]
Moose -- ok
[2016-12-14. : 11:53 pm]
jjf28 -- that's what makes it so incredible!
[2016-12-14. : 11:53 pm]
Moose -- No, because it's not there anymore LMAO
[2016-12-14. : 11:52 pm]
jjf28 -- you don't consider it news than an ancient Sumerian city is starting shit in 2016?
[2016-12-14. : 11:51 pm]
Moose -- And why are you telling us that an ancient Sumerian city was firing anyway?
[2016-12-14. : 11:48 pm]
jjf28 -- :wob:
[2016-12-14. : 11:48 pm]
jjf28 -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: jjf28 I don't think C++ allows spaces in variable names.
ur fired too
[2016-12-14. : 11:47 pm]
Moose -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: Vrael ur fired
I don't think C++ allows spaces in variable names.
[2016-12-14. : 11:44 pm]
jjf28 -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: yeah, like what do I call my variable to store the index of the other variable I was looking for? like index_variable_of_other_variable_in_array2? or maybe array2IndexVariableForOtherVariable, or Array2IndeXVariaBleForOtHervarIAble
ur fired
[2016-12-14. : 11:12 pm]
Moose -- Yeah, probably just using the link to track what forms of ads get people to look at it. And probably further down to track which of those people actually buy.
[2016-12-14. : 10:36 pm]
Ashamed -- To be fair it was the humblebundle facebook page - So not a huge deal lol
[2016-12-14. : 10:35 pm]
Ashamed -- Thanks Mini ha.. I just copied it from my facebook feed. That would prob be why it had all that shit ha.
[2016-12-14. : 10:31 pm]
Vrael -- much more readable in my opinion
[2016-12-14. : 10:31 pm]
Vrael -- int FUCKHEAD = 7; FUCKHEAD++; FUCKHEAD = FUCKHEAD(FUCKHEAD)
[2016-12-14. : 10:30 pm]
Vrael -- which is why, personally, I just name all of my variables FUCKHEAD
[2016-12-14. : 10:30 pm]
Vrael -- but then you have statements like moose==i||moose2==j&&moose3==potato and you can't even see the i
[2016-12-14. : 10:29 pm]
Vrael -- or maybe just i
[2016-12-14. : 10:29 pm]
Vrael -- yeah, like what do I call my variable to store the index of the other variable I was looking for? like index_variable_of_other_variable_in_array2? or maybe array2IndexVariableForOtherVariable, or Array2IndeXVariaBleForOtHervarIAble
[2016-12-14. : 10:26 pm]
lil-Inferno -- naming stuff is the hard part LMAO
[2016-12-14. : 10:26 pm]
lil-Inferno -- The donwano
The donwano shouted: Haha, ya'll always talking about programming like it's nothing while I'm over here basically drooling like a caveman.
tbh fam, programming EZ AF
[2016-12-14. : 10:26 pm]
lil-Inferno -- w/e

Corbo -- Hospital woo

Lanthanide -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: Lanthanide He doesn't play any other games. The only thing I can imagine is if another flight sim comes out and he for some reason wanted it, but that didn't happen with Flight Sim X
yeah well that's what I meant - a new game comes out that he decides he wants to play. from what you've said it sounds unlikely, though, so future-proofing may not be so important. basically if he will only *ever* use the computer for that game, then yeah just get the chaepest you can, but if there's a chance he'll use it for anything else - office, web surfing, other/newer games, then I think spending a bit more would be sensible
[2016-12-14. : 9:20 pm]
Moose -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: so, getting back into C++
SMH
[2016-12-14. : 8:00 pm]
IskatuMesk -- -cuck
[2016-12-14. : 7:36 pm]

[2016-12-14. : 7:36 pm]
Vrael -- gcc main.c -freroll-loops -fsanitize-memory-track-origins -fprofile-instr-generate -fpcc-struct-return -fobjc-gc -fno-show-column -fno-sanititze-memory-track-origins

[2016-12-14. : 6:26 pm]
NudeRaider -- see? you're already past comprehending simple sentences.
[2016-12-14. : 6:26 pm]
Vrael -- halp
[2016-12-14. : 6:24 pm]
NudeRaider -- C++? Noone can help you now.
[2016-12-14. : 6:14 pm]
Vrael -- halp
[2016-12-14. : 6:14 pm]
Vrael -- so, getting back into C++
[2016-12-14. : 5:41 pm]
Phobos -- *animation plays but it deals no damage
[2016-12-14. : 5:41 pm]
Phobos -- Also the animation. Plahs
[2016-12-14. : 5:40 pm]
Phobos -- The script looks fine, it's a copy of the tank's ground attack animation.
[2016-12-14. : 5:40 pm]
NudeRaider -- when in doubt, blame overflows, aka EUDs
[2016-12-14. : 5:40 pm]
Phobos -- And as a result I have no idea how to fix it either. I changed the script for the siege tank turret to have an air attack animation. It attacks fine, but it spawns that sprite and I'm at a loss.
[2016-12-14. : 5:39 pm]
NudeRaider -- :D
[2016-12-14. : 5:39 pm]
Phobos -- Unintentional result of my modding. I have absolutely no clue what I did wrong LOL
[2016-12-14. : 5:37 pm]
NudeRaider -- Phobos
Phobos shouted: Whenever the siege tank turret attacks, the cocoon sprite spawns on top of it for whatever reason :P
in an unmodded game or as an (unintentional) result of your modding?
[2016-12-14. : 5:36 pm]
NudeRaider -- If anything, I was pointing out the irony that not even the most successful game developers balance it (themselves).
[2016-12-14. : 5:34 pm]
NudeRaider -- Lanthanide
Lanthanide shouted: so it's not really a silly approach to make a game that deliberately goes through iterations like that
And I never meant to imply any sillyness. In fact I'm with Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: If the game is as complex as SCBW, I'd be very surprised if it were balanced at first release. Something like that is either balanced iteratively or just not balanced.
which is why I suggested it in the first place.
[2016-12-14. : 5:24 pm]
Phobos -- Whenever the siege tank turret attacks, the cocoon sprite spawns on top of it for whatever reason :P
[2016-12-14. : 5:23 pm]
Phobos -- I've encountered the most bizarre error while fumbling in SC1 modding
[2016-12-14. : 4:03 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Lanthanide
Lanthanide shouted: how likely is it that once you've bought this PC and he plays this game, he'll find a newer game he wants to play?
He doesn't play any other games. The only thing I can imagine is if another flight sim comes out and he for some reason wanted it, but that didn't happen with Flight Sim X
[2016-12-14. : 3:13 pm]
Apos -- Lots and lots of constant little value tweaks
[2016-12-14. : 3:13 pm]
Apos -- League is similar in terms of balancing
[2016-12-14. : 3:13 pm]
Apos -- I see

[2016-12-14. : 11:33 am]
lil-Inferno -- Only difference is you actually delivered a final version C|X^ D
[2016-12-14. : 11:32 am]
lil-Inferno -- Lanthanide
Lanthanide shouted: so it's not really a silly approach to make a game that deliberately goes through iterations like that
Welcome to Steam Early Access
[2016-12-14. : 11:00 am]
jjf28 -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Apos then do it like Blizzard: Have no clue about balancing. Throw something cool out. People will still love it. People play it, give feedback. You go through many iterations until after a year or so the game is balanced.
I think peoples standards are quite a bit higher now tho
[2016-12-14. : 10:58 am]
jjf28 -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: It does not take 20 minutes to download a 4 MB map
Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: Galactic Gunnerz is 12 MB and takes like 15 minutes
could be sped up by p2p (other players have it, they send blocks too); but meh idk
[2016-12-14. : 10:19 am]
KrayZee -- I just saw Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. In the movie, I see the Italian Mafia using magic wands instead of tommy guns.

NudeRaider shouted: Apos then do it like Blizzard: Have no clue about balancing. Throw something cool out. People will still love it. People play it, give feedback. You go through many iterations until after a year or so the game is balanced.
actually what people liked most about Desert Strike Night when I was making it, was the new versions that came out with tweaks to the balancing
[2016-12-14. : 8:42 am]
Lanthanide -- even-then, I'd suggest a bargain-basement PC probably isn't a great invsetment
