I started making maps before I had internet. I would say, I was never influenced by a single person; I was just influenced by other SNES games, that I really loved. I would play those, and long for a map editor for games like Zelda ALTTP, and Super Mario World. My friend had StarCraft one day. I loved it for how awesome of an RTS it was. Once I found that it actually had a map editor, I started making maps. I think I came into mapping too late to make a lasting impact though, I wasn't a pioneer in mapping, and haven't really been around all that long.
PGConqueror is mainly who inspired me to get mapping. (U)Bolt_Head, MillenniumArmy were influences, too. For particular maps, Armored Core would be inspired by eternalegend, because it's a remake of it. Überena would be inspired by whoever made Team Micro Arena. (I really should remake/update that.) Temple Siege edits would be inspired by UnholyUrine for making the original. For my other maps like 47 or Hungry Hungry Hydras, I can't really claim any influences.
I got inspired to make maps by whoever made The Forgotten Caves, the first RPG i really enjoyed, and the longest one I ever played, it took 6 hours to get to the end and win!
Oh and Tux for Rush Ep1, the number 2 wuz funneh but stoopidz!
Symmetry shouted: I did my first EUD thing today. Feels like me finding arsenal at age 8 again
haha for sure. in some ways it's even more exciting because you can play EUD maps on regular battle.net, don't need to convince someone to download your mod to play with you. what did you do?
