Blue Wirefram trick

Ok so to do the blue wireframe trick i've been setting unit healths to 2 with a hanger of 4. This seems to only work some of the time... I'll run the game, and sometimes it works for certain units, and the other times it works for other units. Is there a more efficient method to ensure all wireframes(zerg units excluded) will be solid blue??

No, it is fairly random. There are certain units that will always work, like Zerg units or a couple Protoss ones, but for the most part, it's just luck-of-the-draw. There may be a HP ratio that is more effective than others, but I doubt it.

And the current HP can only be one value higher than the max HP (unless you're using sprites).

Really?

Well while I have a topic open, I'm using farty's name overlapper, and I can't exactly get things to work right... No matter the length of the name I use, it always doesn't fit in the 31 character limit. Am I retarded or is it just impossible to perfectly double unit names??

The first one.

Kidding, of course. If you're using SCMDraft 2, you might have a problem with unit names because it limits the name to what can be displayed in the name box. Usually copying/pasting data into the box works, but this could be your problem.

I assume you're using this. It worked fine when I tried it. Of course, as you may know, it won't work with particularly long names, but it is otherwise accurate. If the laps are a little off, you should be able to add or remove a character at the end to adjust it accordingly. I don't like using the program because it uses W's and periods; I prefer to use tabs and spaces.

Actually, tabs and spaces may work better if you're trying to do a particularly long name, as they take up more space and require less characters, try replacing some of the spacing letters with those if you don't have enough space.

Also tabs and spaces don't have word wrap, so you can put more width than the text line can hold.

Ok I'll tab.

Vi3t, what if some of the units need a specific health?? Still nothing I can do?

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.
