Hey there,

I've been working on a multiplayer campaign for the last few months. WIth my latest map I've run into a bit of a snag, though. When I launch it with more than one person, Starcraft closes. I'm presuming it closes for all people. I have no idea why this is happening and I don't think it's happened with any map I've worked with before. It seems to mostly work fine in singleplayer. Please help, thanks.

EDIT:
So far I've figured out the problem isn't with every slot or multiplayer as a whole... it only occurs if someone is in slot 3. If they are, then the map kicks everyone out of SC. Slots 1,2 and 4 all work fine though, so I have no idea what's up with that.

Edit: Okay, after I figured out it was player 3, I deleted everything player 3 had (units, not triggers) and placed it all elsewhere. Now, everything seems to work. I can only guess that somehow the buildings at the top of the map were going off the map somehow thus making everyone crash. I've never had that bug before.

Yeah, you have to be careful when placing units near the map border.

The last row of tiles (very south of the map) is unbuildable. And each of the 2 south corners has 5 tiles in the 2nd row that are unbuildable. This is because the interface is overlapping into the map.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
