ooo. this is my first map... and all these others seem to have a lot of EXP under their belts... Is storyline a big factor?

None.

I think that would be a product of originality...

A storyline is a storyline. If it sucks, it won't get many originality points. If the game is unique, say "LOLSAILBOATRACEONICE" you might get originality points.

Well good luck, our map: Lost City, is coming out pretty well. I always enjoy good competition though. :P

In other words, you won't be submitting your map for the tourney, and will ever finish it.

Yes any triggers are allowed, however MODDING is not.

You can also use any editor.

Let me show you how to hump without making love.

People are saying that mine is more original and inventive than Pirate Dyne, look out! >:D

I am still working on the base systems, but it is slightly playable. You can actually die easy as it is, so... I'm having fun you all know, hehe. Soon, my map will devour yours. In it's sleep.

There is no signing up or dropping out. Only presenting a valid map when the time comes. So yes, you can discontinue whenever you want.

I'd volunteer to be a judge, but Idk if I will still be around by the end of December. I still haven't decided if I want to make a map for this contest or not though. Maybe santa with a flamethrower? lol.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.
[2026-7-16. : 6:26 am]
NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.
[2026-7-15. : 4:10 am]
Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
