If the color <06> shows red on the right side, then it should be red in-game.

If you mean from the game lobby, no, you can't overlap or color the forces and you can only overlap the map name.

Well, he can't be talking about that, since he said it comes out a different color.

Can you post the string? Also, there was a topic recently that told about overlaps, it had a few sources on how to do them posted there as well, here's the post: http://www.staredit.net/?topic=183.

As for the color, <06> should work fine as a red. You would type "<06>Name" in the unit's name.

As for overlapping, make sure you're not trying to overlap in the forces. If you overlap in the Map Name, which is possible, nobody else will be able to join your game. Screw patch 1.14, eh?

The code for overlapping is as follows..

[BACK][COLOR][NAME][FRONT][COLOR][NAME][TAB][TAB][TAB][SPACE][SPACE]

Of course, there isn't the "[ ]"'s, and instead of writing out "BACK", you'd use the back symbol.

If you need it more in depth, use this tutorial.

It should explain a little more in depth, as well as how the number of Tabs should vary.

The colors are here, and that should be about everything you need.

Of course, if you're lazy, here is a quick list of some of the colors. ;) ( Take note that Red is, indeed, 06. )

Um, whiteish-blue is the default color of the game name, so yes, he could be talking about that.

Okay, so he probably is putting it in wrong if the color isn't showing up.

LOL, I guess that's something that SCM Draft is missing that X-tra has, yes, some colors, like gray, will not allow you to change colors after using them.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
