ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO

My fellow modders, it has been years and years since we had our last stand, together we figured many of the mysteries of Starcraft I modding, we made the most out of the engine and yet did only so little. We created the true golden era of Starcraft I modding, after the so-called golden age, while Camelot Systems was flourishing, we created the Platinum-Age, dare I say.

During our reign we achieved many greats, discovered limitless posibilities, gazed upon mastering hardcoded abilities and in some cases even hardcoded abilities ourselves and we certainly took our vacations very seriously...

Yet, one mystery remained, one single puzzle, until now...

My fellow modders, today I gather you, I summon you, I must tell you my finding, I must tell you what I have discovered in my long journey, I faced many obstacles to get here but today, I shall reveal to you my knowledge.

I have discovered the origin of the FungusCraft song. And eventhough I have long awaited for this discovery, the answer only leaves me more questions.

Watch it, my fellow modders, at your own risk...

BEHOLD! (Seizure warning)

För jag är en liten mört

Som har simmat bört'

Ja, jag är en liten mört

Som har simmat bört'

Åh, jag hittar inte hit

Åh, jag hittar inte dit

För jag är en liten mört

Som har simmat bört'

Åhhja, jag är en liten mört

Som har simmat bört'

Åh, jag är en liten mört

Som har simmat bört'

Åh, jag hittar inte hit

Åh, jag hittar inte dit

För jag är en liten mört

Som har simmat bört'

Jag heter Kurt!

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
