So, SEN, I'm having troubles with stuff when I center views on a location.
Basically, I have a trigger that centers the screen, except it also centers the mouse on that location.
What I want to be able to do is have the screen center, but the mouse stay in exactly the same spot.
I know it can be done, because I've seen it in maps.

Help?

That's what happens when you play in single-player. You need to test your map on B.net.

As far as I know, Center View in single player does these things:

- Center the mouse to the middle of the screen.
- Make your screen move slowly and painfully to the location where it is centered
- Stop all triggers from running while the screen is being moved.
- Waits(0);

As Azrael has said, you need to test this in multiplayer. In multiplayer, Center View will do absolutely nothing except instantly make your screen snap to the new location.

Symmetry -- Man I wish we had this tech back in the day when people played ums lmao

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
