I would assume that the 3rd floor entrance is a pull string or a hidden wooden board blocking something... very hard to find something like this especially if there are lock rooms on the 2nd floor.

If the staircase up is a spiral staircase then maybe it's been in front of us all along but no one bothered checking, lol.

It could be over as soon as tomorrow, it's dependent on the players. The victory conditions are:

1) The killer is dead.
2) Everyone else is dead.

When either condition is met, everyone who is still alive wins. Those who die lose regardless of the outcome.
