Observing if someone is alone in the room will happen when you enter it anyways. You can't just say "wake them up" to a zoned out person, that part wouldn't have done anything. Speaking within your current room doesn't cost an action.

I've had to cut a few people's actions short or inform them they're trying to do too much at once. Every action is more or less each unique physical act you perform, and in some cases mental (such as someone using an action to recall where a room was located, etc).

What he posted there is a single action though, due to the fact that most of it is just stylistic.

Only major changes were to ensure you don't yell back confirmations to the person who just whispered to you, or something dumb like that. Also, instructions need to be valid: That is, they need to not exceed your remaining actions. I have my reasons for this one.
