I'm just curious what's the average APM of a SENner, since not many actually play melee. Even though some people spam actions, there is somewhat a distinction. If you don't know your APM, use BW Chart.

I don't play SC1 melee at all because I suck, but in SC2 melee my APM is generally around 40-60 and spikes to 120. I don't believe that APM is a really good indicator of skill level, because anyone can spamclick workers to get 300 APM. A better indicator of skill would be AAPM - Accurate Actions Per Minute. If you can accurately send orders at high speed, then you have skill - spamclicking =/= skill. My AAPM is probably about the same as my APM because I don't usually bother to spamclick. Sometimes I do it to get focused or to limber up my fingers, but that's it.

I don't play melee at all, but massive sniper-esque games in my glory days as well as other similar games has left me with a top of over 200 without having any micro skills at all. Super pwn. 90% of that is mouse actions. On low speed for more accuracy. I don't always play with 200+ sometimes ill be just relaxing.

Yeah okay, brag post.

I don't spam, except for the very beginning of a match to warm up. When I don't have anything to do, I don't do much, so my average apm usually sites at around 200, or just under 200.

When I'm going full speed with hotkeys and everything, usually during midgame, my apm sits at 200-240.

And no Ciara, you lie.

Imagedeo you are incorrect and correct on some level since hotkey spams are mainly to make sure that someone doesn't harras your bases... secondly it helps to warm up the hands, meaning more blood and more blood flow means even faster hands, people who hotkey spam well... Agreed that there should be aapm but there is i stated in my earlier post as it takes out of the hotkey spamming

I suggest you disregard people in the 200+ APM category for being dishonest.

she/her

My SC APM is pretty low. Like 70-75APM. Last replay I checked, it was around 96APM. I get excited by all the little units running around, hence my low APM.

Compare that to my HoN APM, which had recently spiked to slightly over 300APM in an 18min. match, and my average HoN APM, going from average of 142APM or so and up, frequently hitting 160APM and 170APM.

I'd play more SCBW if others would play with me, I swear. >.>

Oh cmon. Coming from someone who I don't know to ever 1v1 or anything, I don't think you have much of a sway with words.

Oh, if we're including spam, then my APM is well over 7000. Please add a 7000+ category for me.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings
[2026-6-20. : 6:15 pm]
Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.
[2026-6-20. : 3:43 pm]
NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
