Suddenly, my computer just stopped running autoplay. Meaning when I insert a CD or a USB drive into it, the autoplay message box doesn't come up. It use to ask me all the time:

Open Files to view
Install/Run
Play using Windows Media Player
etc...

Now it doesn't do this anymore. Also, when I try to install a program (example: Photoshop), it says the installer is initializing but the actual setup never comes up.

I'm running Windows Vista 32-bit and I checked in Control Panel to see if Autoplay was on and it was. The installer part, I have no idea why it doesn't show up. Any ideas fellow senlers D:?

Is the CD already inside your computer as soon as you start it?

I'll guess when you say start, you mean start the computer, in that case no. Doesn't matter when I insert the CD or USB drive, nothing comes up !

Run > D:\Setup.exe or Install.exe LuLz

Yes, I want autoplay. I can just right click the CD/DVD drive and click Open and run setup, but I prefer autoplay D:!

This could be propostrious but he should reset the defaults...and if this doesnt work your hardware fails?

XP had a feature that worked similar to Vista Autoplay settings, except it would pop up no matter what even if you checked the box that say "Always open this program for this"

Press winkey, type autoplay. Find the media type you want. Change the box to always ask me. Insert the media.
