Anyone know where I could get an mp3 or wav of the startup music\sound for the Staredit map editor?

Thanks!

I'll upload it for you. It will be here in a few minutes:
http://machost.exofire.net/staredit.mp3

Well that took a little longer than expected. I can't get rid of that small scratch in the middle of it. If you have any audio editing tools you could probably edit that out somehow.

Thanks very much. Any idea where this comes from? I can't recall hearing it in the original Starcraft.

StarEdit.app

Blizzard probably just made this sound up specifically for StarEdit, and not used for anything else.

Oh, I hate to say, but I believe this is the wrong sound file. This is for mapedit, no? I meant the one for the extra editor example filename "SC X-tra Editor Alternative.exe". Also, I can download these files, no? I can play them in my browser (as a quicktime plugin) but downloading them seems to yield an empty mp3.

Also, this is just a curiosity of mine, please don't badger yourself too much over this.

Thanks again

This is the correct sound file for the editor you originally asked for. I don't have windows, so I can't get that one.

Anyone know how to get the sound file off the extra edit application, as mentioned above?

Dungeon Master

Doesn't x-tra editor use the .wav used by the xel'naga temple (when you click on it)? If that's the case, I'll get it out of the mpq for you.

Yeah it does. Personally I liked the original better.

That is indeed the correct wav, although it doesn't seem to be located in the standard sound pack for broodwar\starcraft.
