Map splicing

Ok so I'm trying to take terrain from 1 map, and paste it completely over another map. I tried using scmsplicer, but it doesn't write over the doodads. Then I just tried copying and pasting the whole damn thing, but the same thing happened. All the doodas are flattened to terrain and it still doesn't work. All I want to do is paste Temple Siege v1 terrain over Temple Siege v1.2! (And then call it temple siege v1.1)

👻 👾 👽 💪

You have to copy TILE (if you want it to work in editor) and MTXM (though an editor should rewrite this.) THG2 (sprites) and DD2 (doodads) should be cleared.
What editor are you using?

TinyMap2 - Latest in map compression! ( 7/09/14 - New build! )
EUD Action Enabler - Lightweight EUD/EPD support! (ChaosLauncher/MPQDraft support!)
EUDDB - topic - Help out by adding your EUDs! Or Submit reference files in the References tab!
MapSketch - New image->map generator!
EUDTrig - topic - Quickly and easily convert offsets to EUDs! (extended players supported)
SC2 Map Texture Mask Importer/Exporter - Edit texture placement in an image editor!

The terrain actually wasn't flattened like I thought it was... I'm ok now.

Uber@tion 2 can copy whole layers, I think it distinguishes between doodad and terrain layer.

This program is pretty useful for copying layers over.

That really needs to happen. Temple Siege v1.2 has imbalanced terrain, where as temple siege v1.0 has functional terrain, but somewhat ugly. Swap the terrain, then try to remove blockiness. Maybe you should call it temple siege v1.3, rather than 1.1?

I saw someone host a version 1.3 I don't know if you made it or someone stole your map.

It's stolen. If you read the mission briefings it's still v1.2

And it's not my map, it's unholyunrine's.

Just use SCMDraft2. Copy the terrain, then copy the Doodads. BTW, SCMDraft2 also attempts to repair Doodads from the Terrain layers.

What about the "Cut\Copy\Paste Brush" feature in ScmDraft2? I used it once before. You select the terrain while in this feature then right click and select "Copy"/"Ctrl + C". Next, simply either right click and select "Paste" or "Ctrl + V" to paste the terrain to the current brush for placement anywhere. This works great for copying terrain, units, doodads, and anything else. You can even copy multiple layers at once. EX: Units/Terrain/Doodads all at once.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
