in the map i placed an unsieged tank, which needs to stay unsieged.. but right when the game starts it sieges..

sorry if they make seem like a simple question to those weathers members of this forum, but i seriously don't know where to look

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Remove siege tech from him or give it to a neutral player.

how do i remove a tech for just 1 unit, and not the entire player? i'm using SCMdraft

use tank hero for that, i think heroes never use specials besides cloak.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

you cannot do that. changes are always for one player.
But the computer won't siege/unsiege a hero tank.
so you could use duke for your needs.
edit: damned I'm always a little bit to slow in the last days...

Nude meant to remove the ability to siege the tank. Not the ability to produce a tank I think. Also you can make a trigger that if it detects a sieged tank it will remove it and create a unsieged tank although it will keep trying lol. I don't see that as a good idea. Just use a hero tank.

Neutral players won't unsiege, and if you give the unit to Players 9-12 they will keep color.
You can disable siege for a player and regulars won't be able to siege while Hero tanks will, and can thus use them if you need to be able to siege.

Can't you create it for a player that doesn't have it researched and then give control of that specific tank to the player you want it to be owned by? It should be the same as burrowing for zerg units (my map uses V HP, and i used this method to stop them from unburrowing)

Aug 5 2008, 10:55 pm KyleIs1337 Post #9

No, it only works for units that have a tech researched. It won't go the other way. And grAffe you use burrowed vHP right?

Aug 5 2008, 10:56 pm grAffe Post #10

Yeah burrowed Hydralisks that keep following the boss.

Wouldn't that slow the boss down/unattackable hydralisks because they are constantly moving.

Only move them when the unit moves and it won't.

I only use one hydra at a time, and i create another when it's killed.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
