That's just around the corner. After units and it'll be done.

Maybe you could make a Windows port? Or a Linux port? there are many without Macs...

Anyway, you can just use GooglePages to host your file. http://pages.google.com
The limit for File Upload is 100 MB, sadly.

I am wondering if you are joking....... There are many windows editors SCMDraft for example.

I have a place for now.

I'm glad to see you're still plowing away at this Nai, looks great. I keep up to date on this through the warboards thread, and I just wish I had a Mac to test it out with. Keep it up!

Also, why not get this moved to one of the mapping sections of the forums? It seems like it would fit better and probably get noticed more then it does here.

Jul 8 2008, 8:26 pm Nai Post #27

I think it would be better for it to be moved, just gotta decide where. Where would you say?

I must say your modding tools are wonderus(can't spell). They also help me with odd formats.

Well, the name doesn't really make it sound like the right place, but UMS Theory and Ideas is where all of the mapping related program threads are located.

Thanks! I'm glad they help in some way (i dunno how they helped you with the formats unless you have some magical skill of reading unorganized ugly code :P), and if there is anything I can somehow help with i'd be happy to help!

Jul 8 2008, 9:36 pm Nai Post #29

Ok I'll ask someone to move this.

I do have that magical skill. I'd be happy to help you. If you need a mac test I'm here.

Which do you use more staredit.net or warboards?

Yes I'm very glad for your work! It helps a lot.

Yes it did without me doing anything.

Okay, so I make a brand new map in Staredit. place two start locations and save. Then I open the .scm in Unkown Edit, and make some terrain, then save it. Then when I open it again in Staredit, the terrain hasn't changed. So I did the exact samething with a new map, two start locations, but I add a lurker as-well so it saves as a .scx, and still nothing changed when I opened it in Staredit after editing it in unkwown edit and saving.

Directories:
Applications/Starcraft Folder/Starcraft Files/StarEdit.app
Applications/Starcraft Folder/Starcraft Files/Unkown Edit.app
Applications/Starcraft Folder/Starcraft Files/Maps/Test.scm/scx

Terrain: Space
width: 64
height: 96

It's because UK edit saves the mtxm area not the tile which staredit reads, I'll fix that for the next build.

Will this be better than SCMDraft 2?

Jul 25 2008, 3:32 pm Nai Post #40

Not at the begining. Maybe later seeing as in it's more customizable..... a bit.

There will be two unit editor windows, advanced and basic. Advanced will be so that you can change things almost hard coded, and basic will be like staredit.

Symmetry -- Man I wish we had this tech back in the day when people played ums lmao
[2026-7-16. : 6:28 am]
NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.
[2026-7-16. : 6:26 am]
NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.
[2026-7-15. : 4:10 am]
Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

Symmetry -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
