Well i make my whole stage and use Staredit and it shows that the first player is color red, but when i went to play the map to test it i was first and like it is a different color for player one. Whenever i play the stage it randomly changes the colors for all players.. How do you fix this?
I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.
uncheck random start locations in the forces options.

If you plan on doing much serious map making, you'll want to download a better editor.
X-tra Editor:
This one is most like Staredit, and I'd recommend for you to use it while you're learning. It has a lot more features than Staredit, but the interface is basically the same.
Scmdraft 2:
This one is the editor that most people use now, and for obvious reasons. It excels in every feature of map making, allowing you more complete control over your map. I'd suggest moving up to this once you get a good idea of what you're doing in X-tra.

Xtra Edit and FartyEdit are StarEdit. I don't know how to stress that fact more.
