Great video. Must see. I can already see the modders groaning.

This video was great. Although there weren't much Battle.Net glitches from around 2001 that were shown. Brought back memories though.

It could've been a better video, but still pretty good. I wasn't around when blizzard released the replay and the balancing patches :/

ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO

I'll tell you the history of patches:
1.07 fixed a bug involving floating drones
1.08 fixed a.. nvm we just don't want stargraft modding out game
1.11b we heard that people did memory edits with some kind of beta program, so we patched sc!
1.12 patch for memgraft 1.11b
1.13e we killed UEDS, ya
1.14 screw you DoA
1.5.1 screw you DoA, again.

yup, sc in less than 7 minutes :P

Anyway, back on topic, yeah I thought it would have more stuff that was patched, like freezing turrets, floating drones, mention at least ueds and so on. It still is a good video, though. lol at the tank part :P

fuck you all

There's a patch where Blizzard mocked anybody using the Siege Tank under Terran Buildings.

They forgot the most important change ever in a patch :(
Code
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- patch 1.01
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Fixed cheat that allowed one player in a multiplayer game to see the map.

You can still do that by ordering them to JYD during their landing phase.

Freezing turrets is still possible, and with hacks you can still float drones.

Now, on to the video :P
Very nice summary, I loved the font :) I came into it about 1.12 so I didn't know about most of these problems, it's funny to hear about them though. I just hope they learned a bit with SC2.

meme

I don't know why you guys are so critical. He's clearly not a mapper or modder.

May 31 2008, 5:59 pm Phobos Post #13

Are you sure about that?

What's the name of the map where you kill all those medics? And, what is sliding Command Centers? :P

this is signature

May 31 2008, 6:05 pm mikelat Post #14

Sliding command centres is where you lift off and then land your command centre, and upon it landing it will slide slowly to any location you desire regardless of terrain. People used this exploit to move their command centres closer to minerals so they would get resources faster (since the SCVs didnt have to travel as far).

The sword and the faith

One thing they didnt fix still are crystal archons. (Made from statis fielding a warping archon at just the right moment. When they spawn they can still attack/move/whatever, but they still have the cool stasis crystal on them.)

That is Blizzards little joke to anyone who tries to exploit that glitch.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.
