Share vision for player 9

Sorry I don't do UMS maps much, but is there any way to place map revealers for player 9 or 12 and have a trigger to share vision with that player?

(I already know that I could place them for one of the players and have all players share vision with that player, but I'd rather not do it that way)

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

But you'll have to.
Map revealers only work for P1-8.
P9-11 are also suspected to not have vision at all.

Also, there is no Turn on shared vision for Player9 Action-_-, even if you could add map revealer that gives vision for P9.

No.
There's 8 regular players,
P12 which is the neutral player controlling resources, critters, leaver's units, etc.
and there's Players 9-11 which are unused but you can do certain things with them if you got an advanced editor like ScmDraft.

On a related note, I remember the vision triggers being counter-intuitive, but I don't remember exactly how they work. I was thinking of doing some extended player testing with them, but I need someone to remind me how they work (and this seemed to be a suitable place to ask :P). Halp plz?

The player who runs the AI forces the player who is specified to give him vision.
E.g. P1 runs Switch shared vision with P2 ON
will change P2's vision setting to share vision with P1.

And I s'pose extended players can't run AIScripts. Shoot :P

Yes, but YOU can. when you run the script you see what the extended player sees.
You'll have to create a new ai script that says enable shared vision with P100

it woulden't be extended players running AI scripts, it would be regular players turning on vision for extended.

But thanks NudeRaider, guess it's not possible ><, was only trying to do it so observer maps can see the whole field, oh well.

Someone should mod in an AI that allows you to set vision to an extended player, just so we can see what is actually going on with those players.

👻 👾 👽 💪

It can only go to 12.

You may be able to give vision up to Player 32... unless it only reads the first byte.

What do you mean? is it possible to get player 12 visioned?

Only if you cheat. :P

In any normal circumstance ever, no. It isn't.

Vision isn't shared is it? Would that cause a desync? Ohh, we're going to have to try this Farty.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
