hmmm, didn't he say that was the best waterfall he could make using ONLY COLOR?

Deblockification is a success! Much better :) I knew you had it in you lol!

All of that terrain is truly awesome. You both have done a wonderful job. The job you have done is just incredulous. It cannot be explained in words. It must be used in an array of colors and something God-related in order to explain its beauty. As you may notice I am in the negatives for minerals so I'm dragging this out a little. But really. Great job doing the terrain it looks fantastic.

Haha well as you may have notice, everybody on this sight is 100 or more minerals in the negative, ergo everyones elaborate and lengthened responses like so :D

Agreed. That is a nice waterfall, I also liked that other waterfall, 1st one in that long ss list.

Yeah the cave is a really cool idea! Too bad it is hopeless to try to blend it because it would make for a really sweet cut scene or something! :(

Lol, I would love to see that image without all those sprites, which is exactly what would happen as soon as you go away from the area.

Sep 8 2007, 5:36 pm JaBoK Post #30

Seriously? How come that doesn't happen to tree doodad then? The actual terrain is unchanged underneath those.

And by the way, there are like three sprites that actually cover something up in that image.

I was talking about that waterfall with the cave, it has so many sprites covering that waterfall I bet the map lags like crazy and as soon as you walk away it looks like crap :P.

Oh, OK, well I went and removed the sticky-outty temple from the first pick and made something else instead. I'm moving on do deblockifying the mountains up top now, pics of that soon.

Agreed. the waterfall looks crazy good. But its to many sprites for me. I doubt it would lag too bad because units cant really move into the area and clutter to lag it. The waterfalls were all cool in there own way. I liked the last one because it seemed more original even though it was a little blockier than it should of been. The only way i see your waterfall being good is if you use hallucinations to cover up the blockiness of the dirt and add about 15+ of the eldfire or w.e sprites, or redo it.

Ah, yes beautiful, oh and for those bridge tiles, where they are slightly lighter than the tiles below, there's a set of bridge tiles near the end of the bridge that are a bit darker, use those and it blends a lot better.

Thanks for the advise, falk, I'll look in to changing around the bridge tiles as you suggested. By the way, have you noticed that the bridge is actually blocky without changes at all? I mean seriously, it's got blocks.

I really like the terrain, and yha the waterfully does look a bit wide and blocky, to much of the brown stumps perhaps? anyways way better and time consuming then i can ever do or stand for.

And the magic shop looks tight too really caught my eye's me like.

Yeah whoever did the bridge for blizzard in my opinion did a very cruddy job because the natural doodad doesn't even blend correctly... Don't even get me started on this though cause I can get pretty riled up lol :P

Yes, I know, they are awful, if I've had to remake a whole island because I realized the bridge tiles that were all over looked really bad, here's a pic I posted on maplantis:

I truly hate bridge tiles...

Yeah well I wonder who approved them... Bad work... :-_-:

If they ACTUALLY BLENDED you'd be able to copy/paste a 2/1 set of them and drag them up and down a map and it would work.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
