well I feel pretty pathetic asking this, im making a MELEE map where theres a left of the map (home team) and right of the map (away team), I unchecked the randomize start locations...but it still randomizes peoples starting positions, I want all 4 of one team on the left and the other 4 to start on the right...like i said i feel pathetic asking this, but yea, how do i make it so in MELEE it doesnt randomize locations?

You can't only in ums can you choose to not randomize start location.

Otherwise, people would make rigged melee maps all the time so they could beat other people.
