Its like the placeable creep. The null after the creep, you just can't build on. Is there any that anyone knows of?

Oh, sorry, my bad. Null, not installation though, space null, like you know how people say the null tile next to creep is walklable? I want a null tile that is buildable, preferably in space tileset.

I don't feel like testing but I think you can only pre-place units/buildings // create via trigger on the tiles right of the creep tiles. Ask LoveLess. Hes da man with nullz.

I got Buildable/Walkable null on a jungle map, the only thing was that you had to have a unit on creep to move through it, but when you want to build on the null, just tell your builder to build at a location of the null, and wala, you built on null!
The map was my worst map to date, the RP- Phoènix map [it truly sucked!]
but at least it worked for null

Do you remember which one it was?

In my experience, most null is buildable, but not walkable. Then the creep null tiles are walkable but not buildable. There might be some which do both, but remember that you can't walk onto and off of walkable null to normal terrain. If you create units on walkable null, however, you can then walk on ANY terrain. Also, I believe the space tileset's null is actually just space.

Whether or not the null is buildable is dependant on the group it is in, as groups contain that flag. Any group that has buildable tiles will be buildable.

Are you sure? Because in a recent map of mine only buildings with creep could be created on the null, other buildings were implacable, so it seems that most walkable null has the same setup as creep, which would make sense since it's on the same line as creep tiles.

Creep isn't buildable... Those tiles are not buildable. All nulls act the same when in the same row.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[04:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
