Why not? The question balloon represents the thread topic, usually being question form, and then a discussion responded, being the second balloon. I think it fits perfectly.

It just looks weird to me. I think I like the original picture better. Even though it makes sense, it just looks weird.

It doesn't look right because it was blended to white, not grey-ish.

Definitely need a new serious discussion icon. It starts off as white so it looks read as is.

And what do you guys think of yoshi's comment? Should we just kill all the read gray icons and replace it with the original "No new" text?

I prefer gray/transparent or something unique.

It's supposed to error out if you submit twice. Put I suppose if you put in multiple requests at nearly the same time... I'll do something like v4 used to have eventually.

what exactly are you talking about? SENv4 was before my time apparently

The nuke is the traditional icon, nobody could live without it. Although it was a trash can in SEN v2-v3, if I remember correctly..

And if it was just black, it wouldn't look like anything at all?

If the SD icon is bad, someone could color in the brain a little.

Sep 8 2007, 2:50 pm MrrLL Post #31

I don't like the current one, so I made a new one. (Its a shrinked brain from the internets with fixations)

It's impossible to give starting locations a transparent background (or so it seems). Getting rid of the anti aliasing to get rid of the white border practically destroys it.. so we'll go with a grassy background. :P

I'm not much for the serious discussion icon... if I'm feeling less lazy I'll whip up a quick one. I'm just not digging the pink brain.

Also, for the SCII icon, can't we just use the new SC icon that came with the patch? You know, the updated one...

This topic is for me to tell people what they can do for SEN. Not what you think SEN needs.

OHHH, so that's what matte is. I kept setting it to white or transparent :P. Thank you sooo much, Syphon, I honestly owe you more physical favors than I have ever owed to anyone ever before.

Symmetry -- Man I wish we had this tech back in the day when people played ums lmao
[2026-7-16. : 6:28 am]
NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.
[2026-7-16. : 6:26 am]
NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor
[2026-7-16. : 2:28 am]
Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.
[2026-7-15. : 4:10 am]
Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
[2026-7-15. : 2:19 am]
Symmetry -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
